Everyone that works here is so nice and helpful everytime. They're always super knowledgeable about everything including sleeping pads for backpacking and the gear they would recommend for any level of hiker. Will always come here for my hiking items and even just look around for fun. Overall, I would recommend coming here!

This REI is spread across two floors, with a giant staircase in the middle of the sales floor. The top story is mostly clothes, while the lower floor has all the bikes and gear. Overall, Fresno REI seems a bit smaller than Folsom REI, but Fresno ends up having more inventory, because they are better at keeping their shelves stocked. It's hard to remember exactly which gear I've bought from exactly which REI, since I shop across at least four different locations. But, from this location specifically, if I remember correctly, I've bought some stickers, some bug spray, and a packable clothesline. This store really excels at cleanliness and merchandising. They keep it looking great, even though they are presumably a high volume store. On the other hand, this location isn't as great as some others at offering customer service on the sales floor. Last time I was here, I walked around the building a few times in hopes of getting the attention of a sales associate before finally just getting in line to ask my questions. One associate seemed to be ignoring me in favor of using his cell phone to text on the sales floor. He didn't seem to be on break-- he seemed to be on duty, but avoiding me. When the cashier asked if anyone had helped me, my "no" might have had some attitude. But, luckily, she was super helpful, and answered my questions. Overall, I love REI, and will probably continue to shop at this location when I'm in Fresno.

You will be better off throwing yourself into the ground at high speed to be able to stop on time, and walk around it, or you risk of being threatened like a criminal to cancel your pass, and to only use an easy line. On Friday, January 9th, I used a nice black diamond line 3 times from 9-11:30 am, no fence whatsoever, everything perfectly safe. While trying to run it for a 4th time at around 12:45, I noticed a "safety fence" on exactly the exit of that line, on a place that wouldn't make any sense. I already committed to the line, and was going at a decent speed. I tried to be polite enough, not destroying the fence but rather going under it. The ski patrol was finishing the fence close to where I crossed it, so he proceeded to threaten me like a criminal to cancel my pass and felt with the authority to order me to use Academy only. Weird thing, I tried to run the line again at like 2:30 pm, but planned to use a slightly different exit to avoid that fence, and for some "strange" reason, the fence I crossed and that I was threatened for, wasn't even there anymore. That tells me that someone made a mistake and just put a fence on a place that didn't make any sense whatsoever, and that would have actually made the run more dangerous instead of safer. Not even try to e-mail China Peak, they won't own their mistake, and essentially they will threaten you again over email to cancel you pass. This is not the friendly resort that it used to be anymore, take your business to Dodge Ridge, Bear Valley, or Mountain High, they still have the vibe.

Resort is beautiful, amazing views, all of the staff were very helpful. Specially Lindsay and Holly…read moreover in guest relations/ticketing. I watched Lindsay get berated by a guest over an issue with the parking lot. Lindsay kept very calm and professional. Lindsay and Holly were able to help me and my partner with our problem. The only thing missing from this resort to make it a 5 star would be the need for updated/more modern chairlifts, the current ones are very slow (20 minutes to the peak) and 3 out of the 4 times I stopped at one of the water refill stations they were all empty.

They did switch us to another room but when I asked if their boiler was operating they said yes. I can assure you it was not. The room barely got above 30 degrees which led to a cold night and left us very bitter in the morning. Made it even harder to get up and actually go snowboarding. Along with lifts being closed down for no reason at the time, poor hotel conditions I would only say stay if you couldn't get a fair priced Airbnb in shaver area. Anything 30 mins drive is worth it compared to the outdated and broken down rooms. Can't really say anything bad about the staff since they were friendly but whomever owns this place should be ashamed. Had great potential yet they're just letting it go to waste.

They were fit with fanfare lip-service that "Kitterdge stands behind boot fit for a full year and they will address any fit issues, no problem." I skied wearing New Boots only 2-hours at Mammoth prior to major wind/snow storm that forced lifts to close and us to leave. So, at start of 2026, sadly I experienced pain, gaps below food bed, shin blisters and general dismay on the fit of New Boots. With receipts, settings and Business Card for original fitter in hand I called and was asked; . . . "If I was sure that I had bought them there?" Then I was challenged with attitude; "So, you had them fit, skied them, and now have an issue with the fit?" I was blown off completely with the statement; "I am very busy here, will get back to you." Haven't heard a thing. NOTHING !

My guy Keith said Burton is know for causing foot problems. He's very meticulous as well and explained why my foot went numb and said where they will adjust the boot! Excellent service!
