I brought my Schwinn bicycle in for a brake adjustment. When I called to make the appointment, it seemed like they would be really busy on a Saturday so I assumed it would take a while for them to get to my bike, but they said the wait time would be about 15-20 minutes & they were true to their word. The tech who did my adjustment suggested I get a tune up & went through the details to explain why, but there was no pressure to have it done right there & then. On my way out, they offered me water (I probably looked like it was obvious that I'd ridden my bike to their shop in the August heat). When I went to leave, I mounted my bike outside the shop & realized the seat had been raised too high for me. I was not strong enough to pull out the adjuster to reset it myself, so I rolled it back inside & one of the employees happily reset it for me. He wasn't annoyed that it took 3-4 times to get it just right (i.e. back to the height I had it before). My parents & grandparents are/were loyal, long time Steven's Bicycles customers who were always satisfied with their products & work. It's nice to know their reputation has not changed, even with the new Clovis location. read more

Brought my road bike here to get converted to tubeless. We had a stubborn issue with the rim tape slipping off at first, but the team at Steven's went completely out of their way to get it sorted. They worked on it twice and even had their best tech handle it to make sure the setup was 100% dialed. I have to give a one-star review based solely on their hours of operations alone. Here's why: if the average customer works Monday-Friday between the hours of 9AM-5PM then most errands are done after work. Why would a premier bicycle shop like Steven's close at 5PM on a weekday? It makes no sense. Growing up in the Bay Area, all of my local skateboard shops, ski shops, and bike shops all closed at 7PM at the earliest during the week. Now, you might say: "Why not just go to Steven's on the weekend then?" Easy answer is, when you're a weekend warrior you're actually riding your bike on the weekends and you don't have time so you reserve that kind of stuff for during the week. Big bummer, but oh well, maybe this honest complaint will get them to reconsider their hours. read more

I came here to buy a brake bleed kit for my electric scooter hydraulic brakes since I was having trouble bleeding the brakes with the universal kit I purchased on amazon. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I appreciated that no one pressured me into buying anything or up-sale me something, they genuinely wanted to help me with my current situation. I have owned my bicycle for over 25 years. I purchased it from Steven's bicycles when they were on Palm Avenue. I didn't necessarily want to go all the way to Clovis to have my bicycle taken care of but I remembered that Steven's bicycles was a good place. When I went into the store, I was immediately greeted by very friendly employees who took care of my every need . Even though it cost me a few hundred dollars to have my bicycle completely tuned up and made completely roadworthy. I didn't mind spending the money because the employees were very friendly and knowledgeable young man Max that I dealt with could not have been a nicer person. I would definitely recommend Steven's bicycles to anybody even if you have to drive 20 miles to get there it's a good place read more

Don't shop here. I paid $3,208.33 for a bike I never received. I got excuse after excuse on why it was taking so long to come in. After a month I asked for my money back and was told they could not reverse the charge but they could mail me a check. A check that will probably never show up like the bike that was supposed to be delivered. Unreal, Amazon can refund your money over the internet but it's impossible for this place to reverse a credit card charge. read more

Wow! I'm very need to riding. Just took my bike out for the first time in a while and afterwards stop by the shop to pick up some grip tape and tubing. Well I was trying to decide on the tape, Mike offered to take a look at it to make sure everything's okay. Luckily, he spotted that my brakes and sensor was off. He noticed a few other things as well, but made sure to adjust things that were important for safety. He advice that I get it tuned and pointed out that things I need to be done. Recently got into cycle classes at GB3 and one of the best cycle trainers, Van, gave me gift card and water bottle after calling out a name of one of the great songs he plays. YMCA! Fun little motivating game. The worker Blake was very nice and informative. I went to possibly get a pair of cycle shoes. He got me a pair to try on and let me know how beneficial they are in comparison to my regular Nike shoes. I really wanted a pair of cute pink ones and they didn't have any. I was given the option to buy a pair. Blake can order them online. You just have to pay half down. They just didn't have the pink kind I really wanted and I'm not really sure of them. They are pricey and can only be worn on that bike. Can't be worn outside. Great store and excellent customer service and help from Blake. Recommended! read more

They had a wide variety of bikes and a pretty big shop to browse through, and I ordered some tire tubes and it came in quickly, they installed it for me and it was just an easy process. Steve's Bicycles did a great job of rebuilding my wife's and my heavily used (7,000 miles each) e-bikes. Both are now like new.

I have bought several bikes from Stevens, as has my daughter. The service has always been exemplary with a couple little glitches which I will explain later. Prior to the pandemic they had a vast assortment of bikes. I'm sure the supply chain broke down somewhere in the last couple years so you may have to order a bike if you want a specific one because they don't have a lot in stock right now. They carry Giant mountain bikes as well as street bikes and all the accessories that go with them. They even have service and maintenance on site for a quick fix or for your yearly check up. The only issues I have had with Stevens is in the summer when everyone rides early they don't open their store until 11 or 12 p.m. which doesn't do the people on the bike trail or cyclists much good. We are all long home by then. My second complaint is I have had tubeless tires fit on my bike which are pretty pricey and their seal keeps breaking Time After Time. Yesterday I went in with a tire that wasn't holding its tape or seal and they basically had me buy tubes for my tubeless tires telling me that someone improperly installed them the "old way" last time inserting tubes pretty much defeats the purpose of having tubeless tires as the reason I bought them was to save myself from goat heads. The purchase of the tubes me back $75. They did give me a complimentary ratchet for my front spokes and didn't charge me for the labor so that was something. However they are the ones who talked me into the tubeless tires in the first place . The Dry Creek Trail is located behind their store and pretty awesome if you want to try out a new bike which they will allow you if you leave your driver's license. I am giving them five stars for consistency and hoping that the little glitches with the service and opening times are rectified. They may have their own reasons such as a shoestring staff not sure . I recently needed some new peddles for touring on my mountain ebike. I did not know what I needed nor what options were available. Michael helped guide me to the type of pedal I should consider which is a dual platform pedal that allows me to clip in on long distance flat road type rides or ride with a pronged non-clip pedal on uneven terrain where pedal grip coupled with very fast disengagement from my pedals is needed. Between Michael recommending a certain dual platform pedal type, to Ruth patiently showing me the various peddle options, to Devin giving me key tips regarding peddle features to consider when riding off road, to Blake installing the new pedals for me, Stevens bike shop continues to provide over the top sales and service. I can come into this store unannounced and if they're able, and they usually are, they try to help me address whatever need brought me into their store. I feel very welcomed and well served. Simply the best!! We made the 3 hour drive to Fresno just to buy our bike. I talked to Blake earlier in the week looking for a specific bike model/color/size. They just happened to have two still in the box. A few days later I received a call from Charlie, the tech, saying he finished building the bike. Figuring it couldn't hurt, I asked if they were able to see if a smaller size was available. I wasn't aware that they had a second store in Clovis. He offered to call them to check. A few minutes later he called back saying they had the same bike in a smaller size and was already having it shipped over to their store. I called mid-week to confirm they had the bikes in the same colors and both sizes. I told them I'd be heading up later that week. We drove up a few days later to check out the bikes. Mark assisted with installing the pedals and sizing. He was great! Very knowledgable, helpful, and passionate about cycling. Behind the shop is a huge empty parking lot ( probably slated for future retail shops.) It was the perfect area to test ride the bikes. Blake was great too. Wonderful customer service and very friendly. They carry a huge selection of Specialized bikes and accessories. Steven's Bicycles went the extra mile for a potential customer several hundred miles away and turned them into a customer for life! Many thanks again to the great staff here. Insanely overpriced and adding random fancy sounding charges to simple jobs with an extensive wait time. We came for a simple brake install. We had all except the brake cable for the front on the bike. Somehow that prompt the staff to suggest a whole brake tune up, plus some other services and up charges. So you get there to install a front brake and they tell you it's going to be $140 plus unspecified fees plus a 2 week wait time. Just run. This ain't it. There are faster smaller shops and fair prices around. We got the work done within an hour and a half at 1/3 of what they quoted us here - same day - at a smaller bike shop nearby. I've seen this place through the years in different locations. I was actually riding the Fresno/Clovis trail near Herndon and Minnewawa and passed by the back door and decided to stop for a bike light. It was really cool that the bike trail connected with the back door. It's a nice place inside. Lots of product, lots of bikes. I was happy to be able to go INSIDE the store with a mask on. My other bike riders I was with were also able to use the bathroom, which was nice. The young lady that helped me was the mother/owner I THINK. I didn't catch her name. She was very helpful. Her son Blake also helped me out with prepaying for an item to pick up for me. I didn't get much time to look around since I was on a bike ride but I will definitely be back to do so. read more

Beyond DISSATISFIED by Steven's Bicycles! Bought a LIV for our daughter for Christmas. She has ridden it less than 5 times and today the derailer broke completely off. Took the bike to the shop (where we bought it less than 5 months ago) and were told they could schedule it for repair in mid-July...2 months from now!! Not only would it take 2 months but they weren't going to warranty the broken part. We left with a broken bike, no apology and the only explanation was "it's a pandemic and all". SHAME ON YOU Steven's Bicycles. You proudly claim to be an "essential" business but aren't working on anything that isn't going to bring you in money from hard working customers. Nick, Tyler, Tanner, and Alan each one does what they do well. I have never had a problem with the service department ever. I can not say that about other bike shops here in Fresno. The sales department headed by Devin Bovee is friendly, knowledgeable and is there to help. I have trusted Devin to put my bikes together for me which includes picking out the components that should be put on my bikes. When you think of rotten thieves, you probably think of Bonnie and Clyde, John Dillinger, and maybe even the IRS. But you may not think of Steven's Bicycles! I went in with my kids' bikes in need of repair. One had a flat and a loose chain, the other had a slow leak (over a few weeks the tire pressure would get low), the brake caliper on the back would often get stuck partially engaged, and it needed a kickstand. They said they could fix the chain, fill up the tires with a sealant that would take care of the leaks and add a kickstand. They encouraged me to get a safety tune up on each bike, which would include dealing with the faulty caliper, as well as any other safety issues with the bikes. It was $45 for each bike, but safety first, right? So I went for it. The total bill was $170, and the bikes would be ready in a week. That seemed high, but I figured you get what you pay for. It turns out sometimes you get very little of what you pay for. Went in to pick them up. The bike had a kickstand on it and the chain on the other was fixed, and the flat tire was full of air. It seemed odd that the missing reflector was still missing, and one of the reflectors on the other bike was facing up instead of to the rear. Those are safety features and we did pay $90 for safety tune ups, but I wasn't interested in throwing a fit over a couple reflectors. A couple days later, my kids went for a bike ride for the first time since getting their bikes "fixed". The back tire on the bike that had a very slow leak was completely flat and the caliper was still dragging a bit. I tried to fill the flat and noticed that the stem was sticking out of the tire crooked, and instead of losing some pressure over a matter of weeks, it now lost all its air within a few seconds. So we bring it back to Steven's and they say the stem is broken, which is why it is leaking air, and they will replace the tire. For $20. It wasn't broken before I gave it to them, and after it was. Those dots seem easy to connect. But they were too far apart for the folks at Steven's. They say all they did was put sealant in it, which wouldn't have broken the stem. The fact that it wasn't broken when I brought it in didn't make much of an impression. I breathed and focused on not hitting anyone as they fixed the tire they had broken. After they fixed it and I handed them 20 more dollars they didn't earn, they told me the brake caliper would need to be adjusted. I said that was one of the issues we brought it in for and they said it was part of the safety tune up. Their reply was that it is safe to drive it as it is, so the safety tune up was fulfilled. To actually adjust it would be a separate charge. So apparently brakes, though explicitly stated to be included, and reflectors...you know, the bike's safety features...aren't included in a safety tune up. So to sum it all up, for $170 I got a fast leaking tire and a chain fixed, a kickstand added, and a slow-leaking tire completely broken. Then for an additional $20 they fixed the tire they broke. If that sounds like a good deal to you, and your bike needs repair, Steven's will be glad to keep your bike a while and charge an exorbitant price to do virtually nothing. Or you can contact me and for half the price I will keep it in my garage for a week. I even promise not to do any additional damage to it! read more
