Broke my work croc wear the other day and had to find a new pair. Went to the Stockton location and they didn't have my size. Came here to Modesto and they didn't have it in display but the staff knew exactly what I was talking about. They had my size and I was in and out in 3 minutes. Very polite staff and organized store! Thanks ! read more

Journeys - Shoe Stores Near Me - Modesto, California

Very disappointing customer service experience at Journeys. The employee, Mely, was rude and gave attitude when we asked for help. There were 6+ employees standing around, yet no one acknowledged us or asked if we needed assistance. We waited quite a while before finally getting help. Even after the poor customer service, I still said "thank you" when we were helped, only to have Mely respond sarcastically, "Yeah, sure." That response was completely unnecessary and made an already frustrating experience even worse. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but customers should still be treated with basic courtesy and respect. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this location. read more

To the male who helped my partner and I ( thank you for speaking to both of us!) the other day when i walked in and had you on the phone and in the back thank you for your dedication, time, kindness and patience. I'm autistic and most people would have been done long before that. I'm sure it's your job but i hope you're boss / higher ups know that you did fantastic and because you were so patient i did purchase the docs and the converse that i might have otherwise said no too. On top of the four vans. My partner and I say thank you read more

The employee here she kept pressuring me to buy this bc I was buying Birkenstock's. I asked if I can take a photo and she said "I guess". I understand your upset, if you want me to have it so bad... buy it for me!!! I don't appreciate this employees unnecessary frustration on me, nor her rude attitude. She kept saying you need this because your Birkenstocks are expensive ... you don't think I know that ? I mean who is buying them? I said "no" more than six times. Respect my decision and please back off. Not coming back here. Ever. read more

My sisters and her went in here and we were just browsing. As soon as we walked in they asked if we needed help , we said no thank you. Then not we took a few more steps and another Team member asked us the same question. At this point we were getting annoyed because we were looking for shoes and did not need help just yet. Once we went to the croc section and were browsing all three associates were standing in the middle of the store starring at us . I pointed that out to my sisters and guess what they asked us again if we needed help! I just felt uncomfortable at that point and took my business somewhere else not to be a Karen but that was really annoying. read more

I was just outside of Journeys while waiting for my older daughter and I lost my phone. About a half hour later I rushed back to their store in a panic and I asked the associates if they had seen or been given a misplaced cell phone. They checked their lost and found and no phone had been turned in, however they graciously allowed me to use their desk phone to call my cell phone multiple times. I kept calling until someone answered my phone, they told me they had found it unattended and they agreed to track me down and bring it back to me. I waited inside Journeys and my phone was returned to me. The associates were so kind and helpful, if it wasn't for their help I would have struggled to retrieve my phone. Additionally, the show selection was lovely, particularly the Doc Martens. read more

I wish I could give zero stars if it was an option! Specifically the Journeys located in Modesto CA on Dale Road has the WORST employees ever! Please take your money somewhere else! The employees at this location are tricksters! They will convince you so many times to buy their shoe cleaners and socks depending what shoe you are buying. Even if you say "NO" they will still convince you to buy it. I suggest everyone to always ask for a receipt just in case you paid more than what your suppose to on any of the item(s) you purchased! They will constantly ask you if you need help when you have not been in the store for more than 5 minutes. I felt so uncomfortable and bothered when each employee came up to me and asked me if I needed help every 20 seconds. Once again I hope you take your money somewhere else so you won't get tricked by these employees. read more

I was here on 2/14/18 with my grandkids. The store was not that busy and there was only one associate who stayed behind the counter at most times. The store was clean, well maintained and well stocked in general that's why I gave them 3 stars, it should be more if the associate was friendlier about helping guests. We were there about noon and my 14 year old granddaughter who was also celebrating her bday was able to pick a nice pair of shoes. We were browsing the store for awhile and we were never greeted or offered assistance. We had to approach the associate for assistance, she was not smiling and she was less enthusiastic at all times. She was not engaging and more focused on tasking. At the register, she was able to recommend other items and thanked us for coming. read more

I went to the Journey's in San Diego. They were very nice but they forgot to put 1 shoes in the box. After arriving home in Los Banos, a 6 hour drive. I noticed the box didn't contain 2 shoes. I immediately called corporate and the store where I originally purchased the shoes. Both of them coordinated very nicely and told me to take the shoes to the local store at my mall- which is about 45 minutes away. I thought it was a bit of inconvenience but I wanted my shoes. I ended up driving to the mall in Modesto and upon arriving I noticed that I didn't have my receipt. However, I did have my bank card which I used during the original transaction and I even had the bank app on my phone showing that I paid for them in San Diego. Unfortunately the lady working was having an off day or was just out right a mean person. She had little regard for the inconvenience that I had to go through. She showed absolutely no empathy. She treated me as if I was doing her a favor by going to the store and taking money to her. She gave me a very difficult time because I didn't have my receipt. I've worked retail before and I understand importance of having a receipt in order to avoid fraud and other things that could be bad for business. But I spoke to corporate and the store in San Diego and they called them telling them the situation. So she had no other choice. She wasn't too happy and was being very rude!!! She processed the transaction. After that I kindly ask for a bag and she told me- and I quote, "no you may not have a bag because you don't have a receipt." After that... I just had it. I walked out and I told myself I will never go back to that store again. This was an overall bad experience. It was: 1) unprofessional 2) demeaning 3) without empathy I am very unhappy! read more

Normally we aren't Journey's customers. I always feel like the store is so packed and too busy. We went in last Saturday to exchange a pair of shoes that my daughter received as a gift, and I was proven wrong! The staff is so incredibly helpful and fast! When we had an issue trying to find a pair shoes, the manager stepped in to help and found what we needed. I really appreciate when service is good, and it's not forced. Every person working in there had a smile on their face, and a happy customer in front of them. Definitely changed my mind about this store! read more

The customer service was poor. We bought a pair of shoes from there and there was something wrong with them; they do not accept receipt if the shoes were worn. Well tecnically these shoes were worn to begin with and they sold them to us with a promise that we could return them if they don't work out for us. That was definitely not the case. I feel that honesty should be a part of what a business provides and this one is not. We were not happy with the selection and we could not really find a pair of shoes to replace them with. Honestly, all they wanted was my money and that is it. They refused to even give us a receipt!! read more

The customer service is excellent. I only gave it a 4 because when I got home I figured out I think I left a Victoria's Secret bag in the store so I called 19 times in three hours and no one ever picked up the phone so I was really upset about that. read more

I love this store! The first time I was here was to buy my daughter some Vans. I wish I could remember who it was that helped us out but he was so helpful! I havent had such wonderful customer service in a long time. The second time was to buy some pink chucks for myself and again the customer service was outstanding! Keep up the good work guys I will for sure be back! read more

This store has a nice selection of hip shoes for men and women and is conveniently located in the mall, but there is a catch... the customer service. Every time I walk into this store the employees are so in-your-face trying to make sure you buy shoes that it is uncomfortable. If you go in with a friend or have someone with you and are talking to them while trying on shoes, the employees listen to everything you say and will insert themselves into your conversation. They are like pushy vultures that make your time in there very uncomfortable. If you like this kind of invasive and pushy customer service then this store is excellent, otherwise be prepared to be stared at and talked to continuously while shopping. read more

I do not go shopping very often, especially not at Journeys. I walked into this store around lunch time and as soon as I walked in, I was greeted by an employee there, a young man named Jesse Sacueda (I asked him to write his name down on paper so that I made sure to get it right on here). As most employees who work in retail do, he asked me if I was looking for anything in particular, and I kindly told him that I was just browsing around. Soon after, a pair of white Sperrys caught my eye and sure enough, Jesse noticed. He asked me if I wanted to try them on and even offered to check for my size. I am a pain. So, I asked him to find me a size 8 and a size 7.5. Jesse did not seem bothered at all by my request, which made me feel less self-conscious about it. He was able to find a size 8 and he double checked for a 7.5 for me but unfortunately, it did not exist. So I took the size 8's and sat down to try them on. While I was doing this, Jesse began helping another customer and he reassured me that if I needed anything else, to just ask him. Now initially, I did not like the shoes and I was not going to buy them. But then, a young woman named Kelsey Caras (who's name I also acquired during my visit) attempted to help me like these shoes. At first, she tried convincing me that I "looked good" in them. Despite her own good looks, this did not work (and I think she sensed that). When I told her that they just were not a good fit, she recommended these weird heel cup things that I never heard of or seen. These also did not work. Kelsey remained persistent, but not pushy, which impressed me. So, I gave her one more chance. She recommended some insoles, which she alerted me cost an extra twelve dollars. I tried them on reluctantly (I did not want to spend an extra 12 bucks) and to my surprise, the shoes became a perfect fit. I walked away a happy customer and they got to make their sale. Perhaps the most impressive thing about this duo was that they were young and incredibly skilled in customer service. Journeys is lucky to have them both. Way to go, Jesse and Kelsey! read more
