To be honest, I really struggled giving this three stars based on my last experience, but my experience before that was great so I had to let that factor into my decision as well. But unfortunately it seems like the service here has gone tremendously downhill. Since last year. The service was very unfriendly, couldn't get our orders correct, had no enthusiasm at all when serving our food to us, and then struggled with our bills multiple times as well. The food is good, but nothing amazing or out of this world. Really liked this place in the past but really sad to see what it's become. read more

Your every day brunch spot in a beautiful mountain town. We spent the weekend in Dillon and Sunshine was the place to be for brunch! About a 45 minute wait on a Sunday morning which isn't bad! They took our names and numbers, offered to call us when the table was ready but we came back in time! We made a quick stop to Lake Dillon. Service was wonderful! Everyone was so sweet and accommodating to us and our two little ones. They shared half a Belgian waffle and apple juice. I ordered the Country Breakfast which was pretty straightforward (two eggs, two meat, hash browns and choice of bread). A bit burnt (hash browns and sausages), but good enough to feed don't bites to the kids! My husband ordered the breakfast burrito which he enjoyed (just a lot of beans). The ambiance was really nice and spacious which was reassuring during these COVID days. We were pretty far apart from other customers. The fish tank by the restrooms entertained our toddler for quite some time too! That's always a plus!! read more

We have traveled to/from the Denver airport to Vail for several years and always stop for a meal on the way. It's really a highlight of our trip. This is super clean, super bright cafe that serves a great breakfast. It was delish and quick. I was seated right away and was able to finish my meal in about 30 minutes. Since time is precious in the high country when you're going skiing, this is highly appreciated. The owner came by to chat about skiing. Quite friendly. The wait staff were very attentive. read more

Where do we begin? Restaurant was 95% empty, went for an omelet. Service was horrible, hardly any patrons in the place. $17.00 for the worse Denver omelet imaginable. Very stingy on the inside of it, which was suppose to have cheese and ham and bell pepper in it. It wasn't anymore than a scrambled egg folded over. Couldn't find barley any cheese in it, tiny, tiny minute cremated pieces of supposedly ham, barely visible and burned bits, hasbrowns were cremated, .. 17.00 for basically a dried out omelette.. we waited almost one hour with plenty of open tables that we could have been seated at. some of these reviews that you have was for a year ago. This place has only been opened for less than a week. We do not recommend this place, since there are other nice cafes in town, that are better. We are not sure if these reviews are for another different place. read more

Sunshine Café - Scrambled eggs with bacon, biscuit and hash browns - Breakfast & Brunch Near Me - Silverthorne, Colorado

The food was very flavorful with good quality ingredients, and unfortunately that is about the only good thing about our most recent visit. The restaurant is not very clean. It gives off an old school greasy spoon vibe but with a Colorado mountain feel mixed into the atmosphere. It could work except the cafe is located in a strip mall so it seems like the place is not so much actually an old school diner or mountain cafe but really just a below average restaurant that is very nonchalant about cleaning. The real bummer was the service. We were there for breakfast during the week. Not a weekend brunch just a weekday breakfast. It took 40 minutes for our food to arrive once we ordered. And, the waitress did not check on the table once between the time we ordered and when we had to flag her down 38 minutes later to ask about our food. And yes, although she made some excuse about our order when we asked her about the delay, it magically showed up at the table 90 seconds later. And while we waited 40 minutes for our breakfast it was ... you guessed it - cold when it actually arrived. However, the server disappeared again and when she returned to ask how things were about 10 minutes later, we did say the food was cold but not a lot to be done about it at that point. The most disappointing part was that the food really was flavorful but cold eggs, bacon, waffles and hashbrowns are never enjoyable to eat. To add insult to the experience, the restaurant charged for a single coffee refill. $3.50 for a diner cup of coffee and $3.50 for a refill. When we asked about this, the server said that it qualified as two cups... that didn't make sense but by that point any expectations of a quality experience or the restaurant doing something to redeem the meal had completely faded. Limited breakfast choices exist in the Silverthorne/Dillon area but even the limited options will not make us return here. The bakery just across the parking lot is much better. read more

After searching for brunch spots my family and I came across this cafe on our way out of Breckinridge, Colorado. It can be a challenge to find spots that appeal to the varying food cravings of each family member which is why Sunshine Cafe won our family's approval. Their menu offers classic savory choices such as omelets, eggs Benedict, and burritos to sweet options like waffles and pancakes. The staff was kind and accommodating as they quickly found seating for our larger party during peak brunch time. Sweet or savory? A never ending debacle. But with do either when you can do both? Thankfully a willing family member agreed to share a Belgium waffle and omelet with me. The Belgium waffle I selected was what I hoped. It was lightly browned on the outside with a sweet fluffy interior. The blueberries were not as fresh as I would have liked but understandable seeing that they were no longer in season. The omelet was a decent size and has good portions in regards to its fillings (not overflowing but not lacking). Lastly, the sourdough was a good slice of toast and a nice accompaniment for jam and butter but nothing to write home about. read more

Lovely cafe! The walls and interiors are bright and yellow with lots of art and decor that really invites you in and places a smile on your face. It was super busy and we had to wait 30 mins before we got our table. They told me I would get 3 messages and the last one would be regarding the table. I got one, which was regarding the table. They hold the table for 5 mins after the message saying it's ready. Thankfully we weren't far away. But don't wait on 3 messages! Once sat down, the servers were in to get the orders quickly but food did take a while to come. We got mimosas to celebrate a big achievement. I got the Ski Tech breakfast, which was 2 sausage patties, hash browns with pork green chili, a tortilla, salsa and sour cream, with an avocado slice to top it off. It was very good but heavy and I didn't finish the whole thing. A huge portion of hashbrowns if you ask me! My friend got the Rocky Mountain Pinon Trout, which was grilled trout, house made pinon butter, veggies and brown rice. The trout was delicious without the butter but with the butter it was AMAZING. Again, a big portion and hard to finish. We had a good time and definitely recommend this place for a heartful breakfast. Just make a reservation. read more

Although it was very busy, we were seated & served promptly. Our server was very professional & efficient. He hustled. I was impressed watching him work & took care of people & kids. The food was very good & I love the option of real maple syrup for a small surcharge, made the pancakes 5 out of 5. I'm not a breakfast eater but I would come here again. Good coffee and chicken fried steak, what's not to love? read more

This spot was hopping! We got there at 8:30AM and snagged a spot 10 minutes later there was quite the wait. Get there early if you're in a rush! As a vegetarian that doesn't like eggs it's always hard to find a savory breakfast option. The vegetarian burrito hit the spot!!! Honestly, my perfect breakfast. Bring a location to Nebraska! There is lots of seating inside and a few tables outside. read more

I am so happy we found this place!!! Sunshine Cafe was a great choice for brunch. I ordered the Local's Breakfast Burrito, and it was amazing. It is "scrambled eggs, re-fried beans, & bacon rolled into a flour tortilla topped with a shredded cheese blend and spicy pork green chili." It's crazy how much was in that burrito - they don't skimp out on the bacon. I liked the flavor so much and would definitely order this again. My boyfriend got the country-fried steak and eggs, and he really liked it as well. We shared their bread pudding for dessert, and it was probably my favorite bread pudding ever. It was almost like a more bread-y version of a cinnamon cake! If you are in the Silverthorne area, I would highly recommend stopping by the Sunshine Cafe. read more

We stopped at Sunshine Cafe recently on our way to Aspen and enjoyed a yummy breakfast. For more than 35 years, this place has been locally owned and seems to be quite popular with the ski, hiking and local crowd. It's located in the Summit Place Shopping Center so you may not see it from the main road. The atmosphere, like the food served is simple, the portions are big and the prices reasonable. The staff is friendly and efficient, even when very busy. The menu offers a variety of options including vegan ones, and for a moment the tofu was tempting but I could not resist the chorizo. My omelet came generously filled and was served with hash browns (I am not a fan, but my husband liked them) and a biscuit, all very satisfying. A great spot for breakfast when in the area! read more

Wow- literally an incredible meal and experience. Has anyone ever had an enchilada with eggs for breakfast? Not I and that will be changing. I ordered the half size (or so I thought) and when they brought the regular size I was a bit taken aback but never said anything. And omg thankfully I didn't. Because I nearly licked my plate clean. Our server was so kind and attentive --really just the entire experience was great. Kudos to this restaurant!! read more

We wait about 30-40 minutes for breakfast but it was so very worth it! Service was great. We were a party of 5, all adults. Yummy! Stopped by for a quick breakfast on way to a rafting excursion and there was a thirty minute wait. Thankfully we were ok to eat outside in the chill which got us seated immediately. Good tip. Great food. Lots of choices on the menu. Half salads are plentiful. Ambiance is no frills. Very good service.

We have not been here in several years, but the food and service is still excellent. Will come here again soon.

Found this little gem just by chance after staying in the area. I had the local burrito which was huge and amazing. He had the trout and eggs which was even better. This location is better than the rest! Always voted Best of Summit, despite average at best experiences at other Sunshine Cafe locations we decided to have breakfast here one morning. It's definitely worthy of the Best of Summit rating. Many excellent breakfast offerings all cooked perfectly, quite a few offerings that are unique combinations to traditional breakfast dishes. Really good Benedict's, omelets and yummy french toast. No one in our group tried a breakfast sandwich but given the quality of what we tried I'd bet they are also great options to pick up on the way to the slopes. read more

This place is a hidden gem. Okay... so it is not so hidden. It is in a strip mall in silverthorne and is packed because everyone knows about this place. So why was I late to the game? Not sure... but I have my Yelp app to thank for finding this baby. I was sick of the usual in Frisco and needed a delicious burrito and BOOM. Sunshine cafe showed up like a dream in my search results. My breakfast burrito was bumping. Perfectly compiled and layered with cheesy, fluffy egged deliciousness. What was better though was the giant cinnamon roll we had to start. I have tried a lot of cinnamon rolls people and this is easily in my top 3. It was big. It was moist. And it was extra gooey, leaving no dry piece of cinnamon bread behind. It blanketed the entire thing, every single bite, as it should. I have come back a couple of times and continue to get the same thing. I will update my review when I try to be different. But don't count on it. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Peace, love and cinnamon roll goo. read more

The wait was an hour for the table, which is what we were quoted. The service was fast after that. But the food was just OK. I probably would not go back. I ordered enchiladas with chorizo, cheese, and enchilada sauce, with eggs on it. The breakfast enchilada. It did not taste like it had any chorizo in it at all. (just beef from their chili con Carney ) And they put chili con Carney on the top. Instead of enchilada sauce/red chili. No thanks read more

Kevin was an amazing server, food was great very solid breakfast stop. Would definitely recommend felt very welcomed.

Driving back to Denver from Steamboat and we were hungry, so decided to stop in Silverthorn before hitting I-70. Found this gem on Yelp with an extensive menu with both breakfast and lunch that could satisfy adults and kids alike. Came in and their service was top notch. Got a table and the waitress was so nice to everyone and gave suggestions of both lunch and breakfast. It was a tough choice to make a breakfast decision or go with lunch at 12:30 in the afternoon without a full breakfast that morning. Kids had waffles and french toast that was destoyed with their smoothie. Others had a Philly sandwich and Lunch burrito. They enjoyed every drop of food (there was plenty left on these huge plates) and I got the Breck BBQ Burger that hit the spot. Five stars for Vika! Vika is seriously an awesome server and has an amazingly bright personality. The orange juice is freshly squeezed and was probably some of the best I've had. There bowl of chili was also delicious but if you don't like a little spice, then beware. If you have high standards for chicken fried steak, then I'd stear clear because it tasted like chicken steak fingers. On the whole, my buddy and I went here a couple times and were satisfied each time. The only disappointing part was we asked one of the servers for warm syrup (which isn't hard to do at any diner) any she said she doesn't do that. read more

Sunshine cafe offers a warm diner atmosphere and excellent food. The Local's breakfast burrito with green Chile was the perfect hearty start to the day and was clearly made with quality ingredients. A large smothered burrito with a side of crispy hash browns left me satiated, but I had to order their famous cinnamon role for an early-day breakfast. As with the burrito, the cinnamon role was rich with flavor, but did not leave me feeling sluggish--a necessity in a habitual breakfast joint.
