Drink- Coconut Mojito 0/5 I love coconut rum and I love mojitos so I was excited about this one. Unfortunately, it was not very satisfying. It tasted like club soda with a dash of lemon juice. I asked the waiter if it even had coconut rum and he brought a 1oz shot of coconut rum...he smelled it on the way over...didn't get to try it before he poured it into my drink. I tasted a hint of coconut after that but I didn't taste the rum! I thought maybe it was a proportion issue (see glass in picture) but even after the extra ounce I could barely taste it. Espresso Martini- (ordered it creamy) friend rated it at 4/5 Southwest omelette-1/5 It was edible, so not gross. But very bland. It came with chorizo so I expected flavor from that at least. The meat was similar to ground turkey. Came with bell peppers, tomatoes, and onion topped with mild cheddar...the vegetables watered it down. Overall the flavor was just lacking- wouldn't recommend unless you like the flavor of just plain eggs no seasoning. -sides included home style potatoes...they were okay. Some pieces were chewy from over cooked. Sourdough bread tasted as it should so that was good. Huevos Rancheros-2.5/5 Chorizo terrible, bland, friend gave it rating for being filling and still edible and she enjoyed the over easy eggs. Tldr: our particular items were very bland, some drinks okay, atmosphere nice, waitress was nice and accommodating. Maybe skip the omelettes if you want flavor. Would be open to trying their sweet breakfast dishes as those items may be their strength but wouldn't re order the chorizo dishes. read more

This is a must stop for breakfast place! They have such a variety of drinks to enjoy with you food- from classic mimosas to a variety of margaritas! The food is well made and comes out quickly. Amazing Eggs Benedict! Perfectly crisp muffin on the bottom, thick cut grilled ham, textbook poached egg, and covered in a savory hollandaise sauce! Soooooo good!!! Yolk Cafe is our new favorite breakfast spot. The sweet cream pancakes are incredible!! There can be a wait on Saturday mornings, but I don't mind waiting outside when we have such beautiful weather - and the wait is not usually very long. Sadly I can't recommend Sunshine BB. We went yesterday having it on our "must try" list. First I must say that the hostess Julie is wonderful, she was caring and concerned that I might have been injured by the item found in my breakfast. Not only was my order poorly prepared as my medium eggs were barely warm and runny BUT the potatoes had an unpleasant addition. After Julie took my find to the kitchen they identified it as a part of a metal bag tie. Yikes. In reflection I wonder how this went unnoticed by chef, plater and waitress. I grant you they're busy but no excuses. They did not charge for my uneaten meal but did charge for my husband's lemon pancakes which were delicious. I used to go to this location two businesses before it became Sunshine Breakfast Bar. Rustic Cafe had sweet staff and delicious food. I was really sad to see it go. After Rustic Cafe, along came Yolk Cafe...I really missed the previous restaurant because I had high expectations from the previous ownership. Fast forward six years later, I decided to check out Sunshine Breakfast Bar. The service was great but the food was a bit mediocre. My partner got Avocado Toast but they did not really enjoy it due to the underwhelming flavor. I ordered a Denver omelette, it was a bit different from most omelettes that are cheesy in the middle. This place tops the omelette with cheese. I didn't think anything of it. I'm flexible, but the cheese ends up hardening at the top a lot faster than in the middle. If I were to ever order another omelette I would definitely requested the cheese in the middle. The potatoes were okay, a little lacking in flavor but edible. I did ask for my potatoes to be crispy but I don't think that should effect the flavor. I added an extra star because the service was fast and pretty good. Food wise, I thought this place would be better than the last, but it was edible. I've been through worse dining experiences, I can't say the food would keep me coming back or becoming a regular. I have now accepted the fact that the newer restaurants that come and go cannot be compared to the previous restaurant, Rustic Cafe. read more

I didn't get to take photos of everyone's food, but everyone was happy with their meals.I myself got the cinnamon French toast and it was very good, very sweet, and so large that I had to take the rest home.I ordered a chai latte with sugar free vanilla syrup hot, but they brought it to me iced.The waitress immediately had them make me a hot one and I got to keep the iced one as well.Both were so delicious.Even my husband liked it, and he isn't a tea or coffee person at all.Our children for Mac n cheese and sweet potato fries, as well as apple juice. The portions were large for little kids, but for older children or children who have a large appetite, it wouldn't be too much. I tried their Mac n cheese and it was actually very flavorful, almost has an Alfredo taste. The ambiance is nice and it was pretty busy around 8:30 am.All the seats were taken up but thankfully they had a table for us.Once w e left, there was a small family waiting for a table outside.It's a busy place.It was aesthetically pleasing and clean, and our waitress was professional and friendly. The Bloody Mary comes with a garden of vegetables and the most delicious vodka infused bacon. Its a meal of its own. I judge breakfast places by one thing..... Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise was perfect, but most importantly the eggs were poached perfectly. The yolks were warm and runny but the whites were totally set. Why can't anyone else do this consistently? The ham was ample and salty. The muffins were well......muffins. This was the best eggs benedict I have ever had. My guest had a great omelet and some real sourdough toast. The potato sides were well seasoned and a little different than everyone else's. Every single staff member that walked by asked us if we needed anything. They really care about service. This place is adorable and I've been wanting to try it for a while. Finally got out there and waited in the line to have some brunch. Sat on the patio, which was tight but fine. I was not super excited about the lack of accommodations available for a dairy free breakfast. The food was pretty good, but I think I just expected more after reading so many positive reviews. This was a few months ago, so maybe I'll give them another chance to live up to the hype. There's not much by way of brunch in the area so maybe that's part of it. Loved it! (Loved the food, I don't drink alcohol). My server was so kind and helpful making food suggestions when I asked. She was very attentive and brought a refill without making me waiting. She told me, "try the pancakes they are delicious." Girl did not lie!!! Those pancakes nearly made me cry they were so good. They were: "the bees knees", "far out", "bussin'", "on point", "giving main character energy" , and just plain old deliciousness. I definitely recommend eating a good hot breakfast here. I have been to this restaurant at least half a dozen times and have never been disappointed. My latest visit was for brunch with a friend this morning. Upon entering the restaurant, we were quickly and pleasantly greeted and then seated. Within moments we were provided with waters and asked about interest in any additional drinks to which we both ordered coffee. We began talking and catching up to the point that we sent the waitress away twice requesting more time to review the menu. She responded very pleasantly both times, telling us to take our time. A few minutes later upon her return we placed our orders for food. Within about 10 minutes our meals were served and everything was hot and fresh. Throughout the meal we were checked in on to make sure everything was ok and make sure we had everything we needed. Upon completing our meals the dishes were quickly cleared and the bill was left with a "no rush" comment. We sat a while after finishing coffees and talking, and a couple times more we were offered refills. We paid the bill and left, and were wished a nice rest of the day as we exited. Overall, very pleasant staff...great service...yummy food. My ONLY complaint about this restaurant is the up-charge of $1.00 EACH for a piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato I requested be added to my already $14.00 breakfast sandwich. These up-charges are excessive considering what I got. I understand that some up-charges are necessary for more costly items (avocado, etc) but in this situation is was a little ridiculous. I'm also not a fan of up-charges being a surprise when you get your bill. Added expenses should be clarified by the waitstaff when an additional expense request is made by a customer. read more

I'm a big fan of Sunshine Breakfast Bar. We really enjoy this spot for a Saturday morning breakfast. The coffee is great and I've never been disappointed by a meal here. The breakfast burrito is fantastic, omelettes are on point, and pancakes are perfect every time. The coffee is great, and even though they do specialty coffee drinks, the normal brew is so good I don't want to miss out. If you like mimosas, the flight is a fun way to try a few. You get 4, so it's easy to split with a friend. Service here is consistently really good. Everyone is welcoming and the diversity of the waitstaff suggests everyone is welcome here. I love that they use the Yelp Waitlist feature so you're not on line for eternity standing out in the Phoenix sun. When you get seated, usually within just a few moments of arriving, they're quick to get you settled with a beverage while you decide on food. You pay your bill at table side with your server so that part is quick and easy too. The space is comfortable and the decor is cute. They have some TVs with sports playing on low volume so it isn't too distracting but if you care about the game you can see the score. The patio is heated so if you sit out there during cool months it is pretty comfortable. When dining here, I've seen families with small kids, couples on dates, groups of friends, and all of them seem to have a good experience, at sunshine breakfast bar. read more

We arrived about 10min after opening! No wait, sat right away in the patio area since we had our dog. Had a very friendly waiter who gave our pup water and puppy treats right away which is always a plus for us!! Mimosa flight was a must! All our choices were tasty and perfectly garnished! Food was amazing! Hubby ordered Chicken fried steak and I had the Lemon ricotta pancakes with a side of thick cut bacon and scrambled eggs. Everything was excellent and would definitely come back! Only thing to mention/suggestion for the patio area only is maybe consider citronella candles because we got eaten up bad by mosquitos!
