    amazing trio dip
    Bob M.

we came today to watch some live music on their patio on a nice summer day. Had a few drinks, did not even know they offer happy hour on a Sunday but were pleasantly surprised with the cost. ordered the Trio Dip which was Buffalo chicken, Queso and spinach artichoke. All three of the dips were creamy and delicious! Maybe actually the best dips I have ever had (only drawback was not enough chips) we still had cheese dips but ran out of the tortilla chips, I wanted to lick the spoon it was so good. Will definitely be back to try more menu items and more live music. A great treat on a Sunday afternoon.

Great place to listen to live music and watch the sun go down over the lake. We stopped in for a bloody mary and breakfast. The food was good. We had kitchen sink hash and eggs benedicto with queso and american breakfast potatoes. Their bloody mary is pretty good, not too bland or too spicy. The olives and pickle were good quality and the bloody mary mix was great. Comes with a beer chaser too. Only recommendation for improvement would be faster service. It was getting pretty busy and the wait staff were only the bartender and one waitress. We would go back again sometime.

My Thai Chicken Lettuce Wraps were excellent! Spicy sauce included for dipping! Wonderful for my entree! My friend had the Chicken Tenders that were really overbreaded and oily. The Meatloaf was wonderful. Not so much for the Chicken Pot Pie. So 2 good, 2 not so great. Excellent service from our waitress. Great view of the lake from our table.

Our waitress was really cool. Onion rings were the table favorite. Cheese burger cooked to perfection. Check out the cheese pull on the white chicken lasagna.

Pretty good here for lunch today with a large group (18+). My Smothered Prime Sandwich was exactly that: nice hand sliced prime rib smothered in grilled onions, mushrooms and cheese. Be sure to check out the blackboard for daily specials and soups de jour! Bar Bingo & Meat Raffle started at 1pm so it did get a little loud in the dining area.

We ate here with a large group. Our waitress was very good and handled us all very efficiently. We were also able to play a few games of bingo. I was happy that they have Schells Oktoberfest on tap. I ordered the prime rib sandwich which was very dry, overcooked, and no au jus provided. The seasoned fries were pretty good but salty.

We met a group from the Y here for lunch. They were able to take a group of about 20. It was quite busy, we didn't know they were having a meat raffle and bingo today. We did play a few games of bingo which was fun. The service was very good. Thank you. The food was typical food. I got the bacon cheeseburger and my wife got the cob salad. Everything was hot when it came out. It all tasted pretty good.

Went here today for lunch. We were meeting a group there for lunch. It is quite loud here for lunch which is kind of unusual. They were having a meat raffle and then bingo. We did play a few games which was fun. The food was pretty good. I tried their Cobb salad and my husband had the bacon cheese burger. The service was very good. We had a group of 20 and everything came out closely together.

Sissy and I wanted to try a new place tonight. We were here once before... when it was Laddie Lake Pub. New owners purchased it and remodeled last summer. Glad to see they kept the booths near the windows. Must be pretty to look at the lake or view a sunset. The sidewalk appeal hasn't changed. Looks like a dump but it's a diamond in the rough when you get inside. Love the wood decor with twinkle light accents. Makes it feel warm and inviting. Besides booths, there are high tops and regular tables, seating either 4 or 6. Along with a full bar. Lots of tvs to watch sports. 5 tvs above the bar and no duplicate shows! Service and food was fast. Food was good, okay, satisfactory. We left with full tummies. Waitress was friendly and efficient. I ordered the Chicken Ranch Sandwich. Didn't really taste any ranch. There was a white sauce that was dripping as I held it but didn't have over the top ranch flavoring. The pico was good. Avocado was too firm!! Loved the Parmesan Truffle Flats! Now this were good! Think a skinny steak fries with salty grated cheese. I also liked the ciabatta bread it came on. Soft inside but crunchy outside. Sissy had fish and chips. Fish were huge and round. Came with same Parmesan Truffle Flats, tartar sauce and cole slaw. Cole slaw was spicy. Maybe some hidden peppers in there? Would I come back again? Sure. Just to have the flats again! Probably wouldn't order this sandwich though.

    Great view from my table

I enjoyed a lunch and game of bingo at Sunset Grill. The food, presentation and service were all good. Bingo was called pleasantly with adequate volume but not overwhelming. It did slow down good service to an acceptable degree. I enjoyed the lake view through the windows and appreciated the adequate space between tables

KUDOS! I definitely love that about this place and want to continue to visit because they care about their people. As far as today's food, I wanted to try something outside of the box and not yet featured on Yelp, so I opted for the Southern Style Fried Chicken and Waffle. The waffle, no notes, tasty, not doughy, simple. The sausage gravy, delicious. The jalapeño cream cheese syrup, absolutely my favorite part of the whole dish. The chicken, let's discuss. Four pieces on top the waffle, and looked like a ton until I started digging in. Way over breaded (see photos), chicken was tasty and moist but the breading was way too much. If you love extra breading, this is perfect. If you don't mind peeling off a lot of extra breading, this dish is a good offering. Overall, a better food experience than the last visit, maybe 3rd visit will take them to a 5 star rating. There is Hope for Hope.

They all appear polished and professional. I ordered the Oliver Burger, the Shrimp and Cheesy Grits, the Spinach Artichoke Dip, and a Stuffed Nutella Cookie. The server recommended I warm the cookie slightly in the microwave and enjoy it with coffee. The food today: spinach artichoke dip is served with grilled bread.... this was delicious right off the bat when the bread is still hot and slightly crispy. However, after the bread sat in the container steaming, the experience wasn't as good. I would recommend thinner pieces of bread with a bit more char on them (like grill marks) and a couple more pieces of bread. I mean, 4 pieces of bread? C'mon man! An okay appetizer dish. Was it worth $15.99? Absolutely not. Shrimp and Cheesy Grits with creamed greens: shrimp were seasoned beautifully but unfortunately were overcooked and rubbery, and the creamed greens were not cooked nearly long enough, they were fibrous and hard to chew, so I was unable to eat them at all, so a waste altogether. The stars of this dish were the charred lemon (like the bread should have been;) ) and the cheesy grits. The grits were divine and I wish there was more of it on the dish and less of the nasty greens. Seriously, switch those ratios around and it would be better. Next , the Oliver Burger: decent, cooked medium, no notes really. The waitress was right about the cookie, it was very tasty with a little warm up and my coffee .

‼New restaurant try that should go on your list!‼…read more I've wanted to try @churchillstmn in Shoreview for a few years now and just hadn't gotten around to it yet. Finally went and had an awesome lunch that I'll definitely need to go back for again. Everything we ordered was really really good. The menu had so many contenders so I'll need to come back and try other things. We noticed a pancake go by our table and that kinda did it for me. I love me a savory and sweet situation so I went with the following and fell in love with my choices and my Auntie's sandwich too....sorry, not sorry. The Breakfast Sandwich (so much flavor going on in this sandwich and when I ordered the response was ooo good choice, which is a deal maker for me) Kid's Pancake on the side (Uffdah this was yummy) Crispy Chicken Sandwich (not my order today but tried a bite and my goodness was it good. The looks of the breading put me off a bit to start but it was deceiving. It wasn't heavy and thick but it was thin crisp tasty breading to complement the sandwich I was impressed with how flavorful the chicken was and balanced with everything.) Monster Cookie was a delicious treat later too So basically everything we got was great and when I go back I'll maybe get something new and let you know thoughts then. Safe to say you should check it out sometime. For more awesome food spots check out the account mallorymademetryitmn on Instagram!
