Country Fried Steak & Eggs with Tortilla and Sunset Potatoes
Wen C.

Echoing another review, I wouldn't really recommend this place for breakfast. The food is forgettable. Country Fried Steak & Eggs - I got this with the Sunset potatoes (breakfast potatoes), and tortilla. I ordered my eggs over medium, but I guess they can't cook eggs right because the yolks were all runny. None of the yolk was set. I didn't want to send back my plate, but I was certainly irritated. The homemade sausage gravy was thin with small pieces of sausage, but wasn't exactly flavorful. The country fried steak was one of the better components of the dish-the breading had a great crunch and the meat inside was tender. The Sunset potatoes had crisp edges and a soft fluffy inside. The tortilla was a standard service industry tortilla (I saw a Sysco truck nearby unloading in the parking lot when I went into the restaurant) so I can't say too much about it.

Excellent choice for a weekday lunch. Very friendly crowd in the bar and great service. Really enjoyed my Nachos with plenty of white queso and flavorful grilled chicken...recommend!

Great scenic views of the golf course, excellent friendly, courteous, and prompt customer service, and delicious food makes this an easy 5 stars for me. My server came by to check on me several times to make sure everything was good. My A la Carte bacon, avocado, and egg were delicious. The coffee was hot and aromatic. I enjoyed this meal while overlooking their gorgeous golf course. I was very pleased with my experience here. The food and service were excellent. My breakfast came to $10.13 which I thought was reasonable. I'm looking forward to returning and trying their lunch and dinner menus. If you're looking for an alternative to the "usual" places, check them out. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Chocolate Fudge Cake at the Sunset Grill. A chocolate lovers delight. Excellent. Rate it an "A."

I had dinner with a date at the Sunset Grill. The ambiance is nice and not at all pretentious. Prices are moderate. The service was professional and very pleasant. The pasta Diablo was good and quite spicy. The Flat Iron Steak with chimichurri, mashed potatoes, and asparagus was delicious. The steak was full of flavor, tender, and juicy...cooked just right...medium rare. The key lime pie was good...not great. The chocolate fudge cake was delicious. A chocolate lovers delight. Rate this dining experience five stars. See my earlier review for more details.

Scallops and basmati rice

Great food and excellent service, absolutely go out of my way to eat here, when in Las Cruces

Even though the restaurant was full, we were seated right away. Corner table - great place to catch up. The scallops were delicious. The maple salad was good too. The atmosphere was pleasing. Our food came out quickly.

Is it often loud inside? We have company that are hard of hearing and can't hear much of anything when it's loud.

This is a great place in the early afternoon and early evening. I take my 90 year old Uncle and 80-something grandma and it's pleasant and relaxed and not loud at all. Hope this helps!

I ordered the Huevos Rancheros that comes with a side refried beans and a flour tortilla. To drink, I ordered coffee. There were two servers that day. When she delivered our food, she never offered to refill my friend's iced tea or my coffee. For almost 5 minutes I tried to get her attention without success. I got up to the counter where she continued chatting with the guy eating at the counter. I mentioned that I wanted more coffee, I was told that they had ran out and if I wanted decaf. She shook the thermos and she said that she still had some coffee left. I also told her that on the menu my meal included a tortilla. She never apologized for the lousy service. Very disappointing.

My companion had the Belgian waffles (I'm not sure which item, specifically) and it was like a dessert plate with all the whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Also very good. I'm sure there's a reason for this, but every time I've been here for breakfast or brunch there's always a bunch of empty tables and people waiting to be seated, but the staff act like it's a full house. When we arrived there was nobody else waiting and yet we had to wait about 5 minutes for the staff to "set a table" for us. When we were seated there were at least six empty tables already set. When we left about 45 minutes later, a lot of previously occupied tables still had dirty dishes on them (but not all of them), and nobody was cleaning them up. Just like when we got here, there were lots of tables ready to go and yet the lobby was full of people waiting to be seated and even more people waiting outside.

On the bottom of the pizza (crust) , was MOLD! I immediately got grossed out and put the slice down. I got the manager and she came up to our table and asked , "what kind of pizza was this?" Like if it matters ... and I said "pepperoni " , she then takes the plate with my pizza slice on it to the back. She comes back out after a couple of minutes and says , the cooks or I don't know who, but she goes, "they said it's just from a label" ... WHAT , first off why would a 'label' be on the dough if they bake pizzas fresh? Shouldn't it be on the outside if the dough is prepped and set aside with ceran wrapping and then a label ? So I just looked at her and said okay, which you'll see in the picture, the 'label' could NOT create : FURRY, GREEN/YELLOW/BLUE/BLACK discoloring BAKED in the crust . I was very disappointed to be told / gaslighted and lied to , that it was from a 'label' that did that.. Clearly not! it was clear as day that it is mold, very DISGUSTED , and who knows how much I ate , because I noticed it in my 4th slice ... Will never eat here again .. Everyone check your food here at bubbas in Las Cruces, NM!

Ummmm delicious! ( I am still sitting at the table)…read more I am from Las Cruces and now live out of town. Since Mesilla Valley Kitchen closed there has been a void in my life. When I visit I keep looking for a new great breakfast spot with a nice relaxed feel, great service, good food and, of course, a killer green chile sauce! Today I tried Weck's for the first time. I am now whole again. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by friendly staff and seated in the bright and inviting dining room. Our waiter, Cam, was super friendly and helpful. I ordered a breakfast burrito with the green chile sauce on top and my daughter had French toast with eggs and sausage. As I looked around at other patrons around me the food looked and smelled wonderful. Everyone went silent as soon as their food arrived, happily devouring their meals. When our food arrived we had the same experience! I took a little taste and couldn't stop (which is why my photo is of a half eaten burrito! ). Needless to say I will be back and telling everyone in town to give it a try (if they have not already)

Zeke was the server and he was excellent, very polite and on time refilling our cups. The food as always is great. The only observation that I don't like is that the server brought us the check without retrieving the dirty dishes from the table. The same thing happened to me last time I was there with a friend. They do have a busser cleaning tables but only after patrons have departed.

The menu is surprisingly creative with tons of vegan and vegetarian choices (and they'll happily modify just about anything). I decided to branch out and try their vegan tamale, and wow -- easily one of the most unique takes I've had! It's served wet style with a rich sauce poured over the top, and it totally worked. Pair that with a glass of their perfectly brewed iced tea and you've got yourself a solid meal. The service was spot-on from start to finish -- several friendly faces checked on our table throughout, which always makes a difference. And bonus points for the little gift shop attached to the restaurant -- it's such a charming touch. Salud really nails that small-town comfort with big flavor and genuine hospitality.
