This was our first time here, and my husband and I really enjoyed it. The place has a fun retro vibe, and the 80s music made it even better! The servers were amazing. They were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They made us feel right at home. The food was delicious. I had breakfast, and I loved that they serve it all day on weekends. We also tried the chips and salsa, and the salsa was so good! Everything we saw on the menu looked tasty, and we're excited to come back and try more. I have visited The Pit Stop several times and I had always had great service. On May 5, I went with a friend to have lunch. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros that comes with a side refried beans and a flour tortilla. To drink, I ordered coffee. There were two servers that day. Ours was the younger lady, who was not really engaged with the clientele except with some guy eating at the counter. When she delivered our food, she never offered to refill my friend's iced tea or my coffee. For almost 5 minutes I tried to get her attention without success. I got up to the counter where she continued chatting with the guy eating at the counter. I mentioned that I wanted more coffee, I was told that they had ran out and if I wanted decaf. She shook the thermos and she said that she still had some coffee left. I also told her that on the menu my meal included a tortilla. She never apologized for the lousy service. Small, eclectic interior with great music playing (not loud, could converse easily) and frequent coffee fills! And the waitress picked the coffee cup up by the handle, NOT the cup lip surface! I ordered the Arnie's Burrito Special that comes with two eggs, potatoes and red or green salsa (home made). I got both on the side and liked each of them. I didn't eat the fried potatoes and they DID have real butter pats! I would recommend them and come here again if I'm in town! read more

A post popped up while driving through, so we decided to stop! I love that the parking lot is huge for those who have rvs or big trucks!!! That's a plus for us travelers! The place looks like it's been here for a long time and I love that! When you come in, you see so many things!!! What do I mean? Things that the owner has collected throughout the years!! And yes that's a LOVE for me because I am a collector too. The customer service was great! I was greeted right away by the 2 young ladies at the register. I came in 6 min before breakfast ended!!! And they still took my order for breakfast, other places will BS their way out of it!! I ordered the enchiladas because they didn't have chilaquiles, I wish they did have some but she recommended the enchiladas so I ordered the green salsa with stew beef and also a potato,egg and chorizo burrito and I did ask if tortilla chips as big and she said yup! So that's awesome for my husband lol Ambiance was chill, relaxed and vintage dinner vibes!! Background music which is just at a perfect volume. The coffee was bland and I wish it was stronger and darker, let's try the food!!! The burrito tasted homemade! Home cook so that was great!!! The enchiladas looked different from an enchilada but they were savory! Spicy which I LOVE!! They did forget my sour cream oh nooo but ok I can still eat lol Super cheesy LOADED!!! We found this small out of the way, local's breakfast place while passing through Las Cruces, NM and boy are we glad we did! The restaurant is not much to look at from the outside but don't let appearances fool you. The two dishes we tried (Eggs Rancheros and the New Mexican Omelette with the green chile) were outstanding. Our server was very friendly and attentive and kept my coffee topped off the entire time. While we were there a parade of obvious regulars passed through the restaurant. All were friendly with the owner and the waitress and exchanged stories and banter. This made the experience all that much more "genuine." And even though we were obviously not regulars, we were made to feel right at home. This is THE place for breakfast in Las Cruces. read more

This restaurant is a little gym. The food is very tasty, need salt but very tasty. The green chili is delicious little spicy, and the red chili was the stand out for me. Had a lot of flavor. My husband had hand made patties of sausage with egg and hashbrowns with pancakes. I had a red and green chili burrito with two eggs on top, call the Arnies special. The price was fair for the food we received. It was a decent value and the service was a plus really our waitress was wonderful cute polite, knowledgeable everything you want a waitress to be the only thing I'd skip on is the coffee very weak but hey..... it's also conveniently located right off the 10 freeway so it's perfect for us. When you think hole in the wall breakfast joint, this is it. Real small, no fancy plates, but great food. I had the huevos rancheros with green chili. The chili was a nice medium heat that didn't overpower your mouth. The side of beans was a nice contrast and a flour tortilla to sop up all that great liquid on your plate. There's old rock music banging at 8am and a waitress that never lets your coffee cup get below half. Tons of fun stuff to look at and read on the walls. And if you are lucky on the weekend, the parking lot will be filled with classic cars! Their biscuits and gravy is enough for 2 people. Go ahead and spend the extra $1 for the crumbled sausage in the gravy. Their pancakes are an inch thick and as big as your head! It's a diner. After reading the reviews I thought this might be a great out of the way spot. Well the cokes, chips and rice were good but the rest was not good. In fact we said we probably shouldn't ate it since I have no idea what the meat was in my taco, it had a pale grey look about it.
