This is the second time I've been here, but the first time since they'd been bought out. I met up with a friend for a Thursday afternoon lunch. Even on a weekday, they're packed! The parking is kind of difficult, but if you wait a while, it usually works out alright. We didn't have to wait for a table because they did have a two-top open right then. The menu is big and diverse. They had a special the day we went in - Poutine fries! I hadn't had a good serving of Poutine fries since 2017... this dish did not disappoint! Today I went with a friend to have breakfast for our first time. I have heard excellent stories from friends about the delicious food. They are open for breakfast and lunch closing at 2. Their menu has a great selection of breakfast and lunch options. I ended ordering Huevos Rancheros. As a side you can have Mexican style beans or home potatoes. The server suggests that I could have half and half so I did. My friend ordered a ham omelette and a pancake on the side. To drink we both had coffee. When the server took our order, I asked her for water. She brought us the coffee and I asked for the water tagain. Finally the food was brought to out table but no water. As I was eating the Huevos Rancheros they were bit spicy and I began to caught. I got up and went to the server station and I asked for a glass of water. Excellent! Delicious food, great service and a classic NM ambiance. Highly recommend for breakfast. Potatoes are magical and the kids devoured the pancakes. The Burrito will go head to head with obsolete breakfast tacos from TX. Christmas all the way as the salsas were incredible. Solid food at a solid price. We stopped in for lunch at The Shed in Las Cruces, and y'all... I'm still dreaming about those calabasitas enchiladas. Tender brisket over blue corn tortillas, smothered in rich green chile and paired with the sweetness of summer squash and corn--it was like the whole Southwest got together to sing me a love song on a plate. The flavors were deep and soulful, the kind that make you sit back in your chair and close your eyes for a minute. You can tell this kitchen cooks with heart. The atmosphere was relaxed, the service friendly without being fussy, and the portions just right--generous without tipping over into "I need a nap" territory. Grabbed breakfast here on our way out of NM before heading home to AZ.. Coffee was delicious, as well as our breakfast! I opted for their chorizo breakfast with beans and potatoes and my hubby got a breakfast burrito. Everything was delivered fresh and hot. Waitress was friendly and attentive. It's a cute restaurant with tons od character and color! There's also plenty of seating inside & out. The entire time there, they were bustling! The waitstaff waa moving and keeping busy! It gets busy here, so bring your patience. There is room for waiting, so just hang out. Service was little slow as expected due to their popularity. We had their Migas breakfast, which was huge and tasty. Their old classic breakfast is perfect if you are not in the mood for anything fancy. Their pancakes were humongous! It was on the thicker side so little on the doughy side, but still yummy. Someone recommended their quiche, so will return to try it next time. The Shed was our favorite breakfast place in the area. Great breakfast and lunch spot! The pecan cinnamon coffee was Felipe's as was the huevos rancheros. You can order the sauce mild or hot. They have homemade bread which was delicious too. I've been a big fan of The Shed for years even though I'm a traveler able to visit only several times a year. On April 19 I got 2 take out breakfasts. When ordering I noticed the daily specials board didn't have the quiches listed. I inquired and learned that there are new owners, there are changes to the menu. (I noticed deletions). Items that appear on the daily specials board are actually found in the menu. And I was told that the menu changes are not yet posted online. So this fan is not a fan of the new ownership. This place is amazing and so cute inside. Service was great, the drinks were great, the food was heaven. Probably one of the best Eggs Benedict I have ever had. The hollandaise was so good. The English muffin was a perfect size and nice and toasty. My friend ordered the Cranberry Walnut toast and that is sooo good and made in house. Had brunch today with my sister and husband. This is the first time I am disappointed! I ordered the tomato basil soup plate with salad. The soup was Spicy! They should have told us it was spicy before I ordered it and it had too much dried basil in it. This place rocks! Our server Kathy was a sweetheart and gave us the exact amount of time and attention we needed! Food didn't take too long to come out either. Parking Lot was packed but for good reason. There are about 20-30 stalls available. Food was phenomenal. Highly recommend their enchiladas which can be stuffed with brisket. You get to choose red or green chili (team green chili all day!!!) I also opted for diced potatoes (basically like a square steak fry) and beans on the side. Very enjoyable. I believe they used a black bean tortilla too since it was the color purple. Gingerbread pancake was enormous so you only need 1. It was very enjoyable too; basically a gingerbread cookie in a soft cake form. I will definitely order those 2 items again. Fair price too! Ambiance was good. Outdoor seating was comfortable. I was passing through, and looking for a breakfast place. Found this on Yelp with good reviews. The breakfast plates are limited, but felt it was safe to go with traditional benedics. Those were ok, but cooked right. My spouse was wanting to customize the omelete option but make it a scramble instead. We asked our server, Angelica G. and she stated it could not be done. We eat out 3-4 times a week and not one place has refused to make a scramble instead of an omelete. I asked why and her response was "thats how the cooks make it". Didn't even attempt to ask the back. He ended up choosing the Migas. Everything was dry, overcooked with sad-looking lettuce and a dry half-slice of orange. The coffee was weak and the chairs uncomfortable. The other servers seemed to be nice, helpful and chatty; we were the unlucky ones who got an incompetent one. I wouldn't recommend this spot. It had been awhile since I dined at the very popular bistro The Shed. The always packed small parking area, the strange days and hours always seemed to leave me looking for other places. However, I decided once again to venture over for breakfast. It was quite busy when I arrived but I found a good parking spot. Shortly after I arrived (around 10:00) the restaurant and parking lot seemed to empty out a little. Inside it was much as I remembered: a casual, bright, clean, bistro with a noisy kitchen area, and chairs and tables not the most comfortable. The place seemed noisier than you might expect because the acoustics are not very good. The restaurant does have a nice little covered patio for dining outside when the weather is fair. The service is always pleasant. The young ladies do a good job. The menu has a variety of options and the food is prepared unlike in any other restaurant in the valley. These recipes are their own. The Shed also features a large screen tv on the wall displaying their menu and prices. An interesting feature. Prices are moderate. Today I ordered the "Breakfast Enchiladas." The plate came with two rolled blue corn tortillas stuffed with brisket (my option), a hefty serving of their "home potatoes," and two thick slices of a multi grained toast with a side of butter and jam. The enchiladas were covered with a spicy green chile sauce (again my option) with cheese. The preparation of the food was not exactly quick taking around 15 to 18 minutes to get to the table. The multi-grained toast was upper echelon. Very good. The toast was served with a spot of butter and a bit of jam on the side. Rate the toast an "A." You don't get better toast hardly anywhere. The blue corn enchiladas were very good with a lot of shredded brisket. Covered with a tasty green chile, cheese, onions, and chile sauce the enchiladas rate a "B+" to an "A-." Enjoyed them. The potatoes were not at all oily...must have been air fried or baked in an oven. That, of course, removes some of the flavor. Some may like this method and some may not. The potatoes were just ok in my opinion. Rate them a "B-." All in all, rate the full dining experience today at The Shed around Four and a Quarter Stars....meaning very good for a casual restaurant. Last day of our Hatch/Las Cruces trip and couldn't leave without one last stop for breakfast. The Shed upon arrival had quite a long line, but thankfully it went quickly. Unlike our heated mornings in Tucson, the high 80s were very pleasant. Our waitress was very friendly and personable and she put up with all our quirky personalities in our party of 5. I ordered the quiche which was cooked to perfection. It was tasty, moist and HUGE!!! Our group ordered the Migas and the Old Mesilla Bkfst, They offered homemade bread and 2 of us opted for cinnamon raisin, while others had regular toast and tortillas.
