I've only been once, but the food was delicious, and the owner very friendly. It's mainly a lunch place in the Bank Building.

They were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. They made us feel right at home. The food was delicious. I had breakfast, and I loved that they serve it all day on weekends. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros that comes with a side refried beans and a flour tortilla. To drink, I ordered coffee. There were two servers that day. Ours was the younger lady, who was not really engaged with the clientele except with some guy eating at the counter. When she delivered our food, she never offered to refill my friend's iced tea or my coffee. For almost 5 minutes I tried to get her attention without success. I got up to the counter where she continued chatting with the guy eating at the counter. I mentioned that I wanted more coffee, I was told that they had ran out and if I wanted decaf. She shook the thermos and she said that she still had some coffee left. I also told her that on the menu my meal included a tortilla. She never apologized for the lousy service. Very disappointing.

My companion had the Belgian waffles (I'm not sure which item, specifically) and it was like a dessert plate with all the whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Also very good. I'm sure there's a reason for this, but every time I've been here for breakfast or brunch there's always a bunch of empty tables and people waiting to be seated, but the staff act like it's a full house. When we arrived there was nobody else waiting and yet we had to wait about 5 minutes for the staff to "set a table" for us. When we were seated there were at least six empty tables already set. When we left about 45 minutes later, a lot of previously occupied tables still had dirty dishes on them (but not all of them), and nobody was cleaning them up. Just like when we got here, there were lots of tables ready to go and yet the lobby was full of people waiting to be seated and even more people waiting outside.

They had a good variety and I got one waffle on the side with the Bavarian cream and it was absolutely great. I did order the skirt steak, which was not my favorite to be honest. Overall, it was too chewy. However, the hashbrowns were done very well.

The menu is surprisingly creative with tons of vegan and vegetarian choices (and they'll happily modify just about anything). I decided to branch out and try their vegan tamale, and wow -- easily one of the most unique takes I've had! It's served wet style with a rich sauce poured over the top, and it totally worked. Pair that with a glass of their perfectly brewed iced tea and you've got yourself a solid meal. The service was spot-on from start to finish -- several friendly faces checked on our table throughout, which always makes a difference. And bonus points for the little gift shop attached to the restaurant -- it's such a charming touch. Salud really nails that small-town comfort with big flavor and genuine hospitality.

I'd recommend the red one over the green - the pork tamale was the best item, followed by the enchilada. I didn't care for the flauta, which felt overcooked and dry. Overall enjoyed my experience.
