SPECIAL COVID-19 EDITION REVIEW: SAFETY PRACTICES, PROTOCOLS AND MORE. Sunset grill is usually a hit or miss. I used to go to a sunset grill when I was in high school all the time. Called before hand and spoke to the manager about what COVID measures they're taking, he told me everyone is wearing masks, social distancing, and everything is sanitized from your seat to the cutlery. During covid, the patio is open and if the sun is shining, it's usually not a miss. Our server was very kind, we were given contact info sheets - to trace COVID - and our server was attentive. Food was really good. We had French toast, with a huge steak omelette and two apple juices. Everything tasted great. All servers were wearing a mask, some with gloves on. Everything is sanitized. Atrocious service. What started off an enjoyable 2 order, same day simple inquiry about their menu, turned into an argument with 2 incredibly rude bone heads that made me regret giving them one dime of my money. As the one guy and one girl answer the phone simultaneously making it abundantly clear that they have their heads shoved up each other's buttocks. Whoever handles the phones today at around 12:45 PM on Saturday, June 18th...should be fired asap. The simple phone calls like this, is where you realize quickly this is not a business that cares about their customers.... it's a chain of franchises. Nothing more, nothing less. I placeed 2 orders today on uber eats. One for 4 orders of turkey bacon, and 1 four orders of sausage. Call back again and ordered three French connection breakfasts which include French toast eggs and bacon. I called after i noticed there was no toast included with sunnyside up eggs, This is unheard of. But no big deal. It was an inquiry. And all i got was hung up on by a rude dumb lady debating how much I actually spent based on my order number when in fact I told her initially I placed two orders today. A with a very rude lady that later hung up on me. Then i call back and got the exact same root treatment from some moron that was protecting his prized possession. They could've gained a new customer but instead of that they made me regret ever switching from Eggslicilus on Kipling. Im a loyal customers since 2016. At least now I know how much more they care about their customers and I will never ever give my business to these sunset losers again. read more

My usual breakfast spot changed it's hours which does not work for me. Decided to give this location a try. Did a phone in pick up order and was ready on arrival. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I got the Bacon, egg, cheddar sandwich with home fries. Overall a pretty good breakfast. I will definitely be back. As for Covid precautions, all staff wearing masks and bring a tap pay machine for take out. read more

Well, Sunset Grill, back before it was a huge, way too many in the same area franchise, was a great place to eat.... It was the one of two brunch places I frequented in the Beach. Not any more. The food is medicore at best. At best. The service was ok. Prices are high for what you get. I don't know. With other much better spots a 2 minutes drive away, they can't afford to be mediocre, which is what their 3 star overall Yelp average signifies! You can be a chain and have high quality food. Sunset grill needs to wake up. Or do they just not care about customer's opinions, as long as the franchise revenue keeps rolling in? Cora's was exactly like this chain... We ordered 2 piece french toast, the vegetable omelette and 3 eggs with no meat. It took about 10 minutes before the food came. The server checked on us once. I discovered pieces of ham in my vegetable omelette, and I informed the server. She took it to her manager , and came back with 'We will not do anything about it. There is no way we would put ham in it.' No empathy or sorry, no basic customer service was demonstrated. If you have a food restriction due to dietary or religious beliefs. Be cautious!! read more

Fast and friendly service. Waitress came by a few times to top off the coffee and see how we were doing. The breakfast came pretty fast considering how busy it was. I had the corn beef hash and eggs. It was perfect. A very hearty meal. We have been to the one near home in Pickering and this location is much, much better. read more

Sunset grille is always good from my experience, but was particularly nice to do a pick up order during COVID restrictions. Nice clean place, but somewhat lacking in food quality for the price. I'd been wanting to come since the sign went up (it opened recently), but I was surprised at how tiny and crowded this place felt. Plus, cold air kept us cold throughout our meal. We had the French toast, which were nicely cooked, but with no taste (had to add lots of syrup), and when I asked for whipped topping they charge $2.50!!! We also had bacon & eggs. The bacon was good, but the potatoes were too salty and unevenly cooked. Everything else was just ok, but not worth it. I'll be sure to try them again another time. read more

Lesson learned - make breakfast at home or go down the street to The Olive...no breakfast should cost more than $10 unless it's sprinkled with gold Healthiest cooking methods? This Sunset Grill opened recently at a good location for me. I have been to other Sunset Grill restaurants throughout Toronto, so I know what to expect from it. Although the Sunset Grill franchises are in general an "all right" place to go to, you have to even further lower the expectations on this one. Food is not what I'm used to (except for the bacon, I find their bacon has always lacked in quality, and it was the same on this restaurant), the service was non-familiar and waiters walked around with a blank face like they are serving jail time instead of working at a family breakfast place, and they tried to rush us out, plus the overall standard quality I have experienced in other franchises was totally missing here. I double checked the door sign upon exiting, to make sure we were on an actual Sunset Grill, instead of a horribly bad developed knock-off. Will not come back, I can find much better places to enjoy my weekend brunch. read more

Nice, new ,clean.good breakfast however I wish they would offer smaller portions, like 2 eggs and 3 pieces of bacon, delicious home fries cooked perfectly. Fast service! I hate wasting food but can't eat 3 eggs 5 pieces of bacon and home fries and toast. Honestly they could charge me the same amount and offer less foot and I would pay cause it's still a great deal. After being a regular at another local breakfast place and getting hair in my food twice they are snipped. read more
