August 16/2026: Dinner with my Al. This was a disaster of a meal for me! I had the sausage roll ($18.00) to start. Not To my taste at all. For me the sausage had too much fennel spice & the bottom of the pastry was literally black (see pic). This was served to the table without an issue but I found it lacked the taste of a traditional English sausage roll. My main was the Sunday evening house special, Roast Beef. It was accompanied by mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables & Yorkshire pudding ($28.00). I asked for the beef to be medium/well. When it was delivered, the beef was WAY undercooked & the mashed were only lukewarm. When I returned the plate to the kitchen, it should have been redone & sent back to my table. Instead the beef was microwaved & the undercooked part of the original piece was simple left on the plate. The potatoes were then cold. I ended up sending the entire meal back & cut the dining experience short. This was disappointing all the way around. Our server "Dana" was decent & respectful & understood what the issues were. She was good enough to comp our meal & it was the right thing to do. We DID tip our server in spite of the kitchen issues. read more

Omg! I was so surprised by the place! Went there for a quick bit with my girl and it didn't disappoint. Kitchen on Sixth gives a very cozy vibe. A lot of families were there eating dinner. We were caught between the chicken waffle and the Sunday roast so we decided to share to get the best of both worlds. I would definitely recommend the chicken waffle over the Sunday roast. We dined with friends. We enjoyed the happy hour pricing on appetizers and tried several including beef carpaccio, scotch egg, tacos, and calamari. The house red wine was excellent and at $6 a glass very good value. Our server was friendly and efficient and service was excellent. This is a friendly restaurant with a good ambiance. This was pleasant accidental walk in find of classic brunch food. All the classics with a mimosa $5 special! The menu didn't have anything particularly unique but it did classic well. I really liked the strawberry French toast I had and my partner had the fish and chips, he liked his-"Not too greasy and fresh" The restaurant is smaller but we easily got tables on a Saturday morning. came here for a anniversary recently, after years of driving by this place/checking out the menu online came here on a Wednesday, and was a bit of a odd visit. (first day of the week they are open) was given the menu, an asked if some item ordered can be altered "that item isn't in the meal" it's in print, on your menu "let me double check" thankfully the item was not included in the item i was personally trying to avoid, but then the sandwich was absolutely smothered in fried onions that absolutely rubbed the inside of my mouth for a couple of days after the fact. the omelet with the veggie sausage substitution was from the beyond meat brand which dominated the flavor of the meal for me. my partner, thankfully enjoyed everything. the service was nice, friendly, and a touch on the pushy side, as we were told to "come on Sunday, our busiest day" multiple times decent atmosphere, visually, but the music was a touch too loud and the playlist was all over the map for a selection of tunes, you could tell it wasn't a radio station, but someone's playlist. they have one of my favorite bottles of whisky, unfortunately, I don't drink in public anymore was decent, would go back, but not for a bit. read more

I love a good eggs benedict, and this spot truly satisfied the craving. The salmon and lemon curd upgrade was the best choice I could have made cause the tinge of sweet with this savory meal was one of the best things I've tasted. Have enjoyed this place many times in the past. Great food, great staff and service. Went with a group. Clearly overbooked or Good Friday. We watched several tables served ate and left while we sat waiting for our meals. The waiter offered little to deal with the situation. Fish and chips were clearly rushed and soggy. I stopped in to sit on the shaded patio and have a cup of coffee. The interior is really nice and has great atmosphere and the patio was quiet and peaceful despite being street side. I had a coffee with an espresso shot, three eggs and bangers and they were quite possibly the best bangers I've ever had. They were short stubby and just delicious. I would return simply to have those again. Service was prompt and friendly and overall it was an excellent experience. I got the half English breakfast and my partner got the full English breakfast. For the full English breakfast, then ran out of white pudding so they subbed it for another black pudding. So so so good. Fell in love with this local gem pre-covid. Prior to pandemic, I loved to come here for brunch on the weekend. Great service, atmosphere and food. During covid times, I've ordered take out a few times. Each time, food is hot and fresh, great portions and flavours! My last experience was for my family's Christmas dinner :) We ordered 2 Christmas dinners (one turkey roulade, and one roast beef) which came with ALL the fixings, plus we added a full order of the amazing pear and beet salad, a side of maple glazed bangers (so tasty!), and a banoffee pie (the perfect way to cap off the meal). And to bring us into the new year, we grabbed frozen pies to stock up in our freezer: 4 mini meat pies and a large fisherman pie (which we've since tried and LOVED). I was looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion, and I noticed this joint down on Lakeshore. The menu looked promising and the reviews were fantastic, so it was an easy decision. We arrived around 7:00 on a Saturday and the place wasn't super busy. We were shown to a nice table for two and I began perusing the menu, although I knew exactly what I wanted to start with. When I was a kid, I used to love eating Marks & Spencer's frozen Scotch Egg and I was certainly heartbroken when that British franchise closed all their Canadian stores. So when I saw a Scotch Egg ("Classic pork, soft boiled egg, panko crusted, mustard remoulade") on Kitchen On Sixth's menu, I knew I had to try it. It arrived a short time later and certainly looked perfect. It's actually even better than I had hoped. The sausage outer layer is perfect and not dry at all, while the egg interior is just as good. (That egg is cooked so well it's almost ridiculous.) This may have been the best Scotch Egg I've ever eaten. For my main, I went with the Lamb Saddle ("Fingerling potato, brussels sprouts, bubble & squeak, mint jelly, jus"). The presentation was terrific, and the dish tasted just as good as it looked. The meat was perfectly cooked, while the various accompanying components complemented the dish really well. The highlight is that meat, though, which was super tender and flavorful. It was kind of a mind-blower. The service was friendly and efficient, too. I think Kitchen On Sixth might just end up being our new go-to for a night out. read more

Just happened to be driving through New Toronto at lunchtime so thought we'd give this place a try. Was seated with a menu promptly and our coffees came right away. The menu wasn't huge but it looked interesting. We both ended up ordering the huevos rancheros because that's my jam. Any time it's on the menu, I gotta try it. I ordered mine with veggie sausage, hubby with regular sausage. I have to say I was a little disappointed. It was just very dry. I know! How the heck is huevos rancheros dry?! So they do something to the corn tortillas that involves salsa but all it does is dry the tortilla out. There was then a minuscule bit of guacamole on the tortilla. Then the veggie sausage was crumbled on top and so so dry. Then the awesome sunny side up eggs. (Good thing or I would have sent the whole thing back) on top of the eggs I had, no kidding, 5 tiny little pieces of tomato that was supposed to be pico de gallo. I had to ask for more quac and pico to brighten this up a bit. Waitress was very apologetic and brought a bit of each. I had salad with mine. Nice light with a fresh dressing. Hubby has some amazing fries with his. I really think they should rethink the huevos rancheros. Can be the most amazing dish! Especially with REAL guacamole, and a gorgeous tomatillo sauce loaded on top. A bit of chedder under the eggs. And stop whatever you're doing to the tortillas. Just warm them a bit on the grill. Yum. We were extremely impressed with the food here. Classic British food with a hint of North American twist. We tried the Scotch Egg and Samosa starters, both of which were delicious, and portioned just right. The sauce that accompanies the samosa is wonderful, it's a pity they don't jar it and sell it to take home. There's a small selection of draught beers, including a rotation of guest craft beers, as well as signature cocktails and a small wine list. Staff are very friendly and attentive without being intrusive. We definitly enjoyed our meal here and certainly will be back soon. read more

I've been to Kitchen on Sixth's original location before they moved last year. The new restaurant is bigger, the vibe is casual, and the food is great, especially given the price. Food options are limited to less than 10 items on the menu - I've tried the Posh Mushrooms, the Eggs Benedict, and the Breakfast Poutine. All are pretty savoury and the food is very filling. One of my other favourites is the drinks - all affordably priced (unlike brunch spots), you can get some great specialty ones for $3.50. I recommend giving the Strawberry Tea Lemonade a try. Prepared with David's Tea, and some sparkling Lemonade, it's a great drink along with your meal. Service is friendly and quick. The waitress brought out the drinks and food in a timely manner and everything was delicious. Again, I'd definitely recommend trying this resto if you're in the area. read more

Arrived saturday morning around 11am, it was suuuper bumping! Right after us a long line of 6-8people formed as the venue was packed. I got the chicken and waffles and was pleasantly surprised that the waffle was sweet/dense (not fluffy) and the chicken being lightly crisp but juicy in the inside. Maple syrup and blueberry compote also went well together. The eggs on the beny were cooked to perfection but the star of the show was the FRIES. Amazing fries! Finally made my way down to Kitchen on Sixth for breakfast and am so happy to have discovered it. This place may compete with Heuvos Gourmet as my favourite breakfast spot on Lake Shore. We came right at opening and the server was friendly, seating us quickly. We ordered coffees to begin and almond milk was quickly brought over. My husband went with the Full English breakfast ($14), whereas I went for the Pork Belly Benedict ($15). You're offered the option of salad/chips/mix with both choices - we both chose chips and this is probably the best choice I made all weekend. The chips on their own are fantastic. They are deliciously crisp, generously portioned, and seasoned with an interesting spice mix. My benedict was slightly adventurous - it had apple butter underneath the pork belly which cut down the saltiness from the pork belly. The eggs were cooked perfectly with runny yolk and the hollandaise was decadent without being too thick. Overall it was flavourful without making you feel like you ate too much afterwards. My husband also enjoyed the variety in the Full Breakfast, with all of its accompaniments. Frankly I'd come back just for the chips on their own! On top of this, the server was friendly and personable, without being too intrusive, managing all of the incoming patrons deftly. As if south Etobicoke didn't have enough bangin' breakfast spots already, now we've got a new location for Kitchen On Sixth (located between 8th and 9th on Lakeshore) with more room and an amazing menu to help feed the weekend brunch gangs! What I like about this place is that they do traditional English fare, and for breakfast this means all the classics you could hope for like bangers, black or white pudding, beans, toast and bacon that reminded me of the rashers I had when last visiting Ireland. The menu is also incredibly thoughtful at breakfast, my wife (a vegetarian) was able to get an eggs benedict which I believe was called Eggs with benefits and had portabello mushroom caps and perfectly cooked eggs. The menu is big but for my money I knew I was having either a full or half english breakfast hands down... so I went with the full. Huge portion and all for only $14?! My wife and I go out for breakfast/brunch fairly regularly and we seldom walk out for less than $40-50 all in. Our meal taxes in was less than $30 with coffees, and with tip ended up just over $30. Incredible. I hope that KoS continues to provide large value breakfasts at reasonable prices. If so they'll kill it in the neighbourhood and always be busy. A misleading 5 stars - Came in on a Sunday afternoon. Took awhile for them to greet us (which was the case for everyone that came in after us). There is a waiting spot with card games and comfortable couches. The decor and atmosphere is nice. There were 2 servers on the floor and one working the bar. The place had a couple of empty tables and manageable for the three on floor. Do you want competent or friendly? Well, you can only choose one here when it comes to service. Sarah (I believe was her name as she wore one of those name necklaces) was ours. She was rude and it looked like it would hurt her if she smiled. But she got our order right and cleaned our table promptly. She never checked in on us to see how our food was. Her responses were short and had a very rude tone. The other server, we did not get her name but was in training and was bubbly and friendly but would forget her customers orders or to seat customers when they were waiting for a seat. The food was 3.5 stars. We ordered the half English and smoked salmon Benedict with a side of salted caramel crepe. Would we be back? Unlikely. read more

Amazing scotch egg! I haven't had a good one for a long time and this really did the trick. It reminded me of a summer a long time ago, I was working at a beachfront resort in Scotland when I overheard this woman, a regular named Dahlia. So, we do this Hey thing back and forth for a few weeks and I'm beginning to think he's as thick as he looks, But finally one afternoon when the shift ended.
