Our experience has been great all around, from the communication and coaching to the support for both players and parents. What we appreciate most is the positive and welcoming environment they've created. Our girls have grown not only as volleyball players, but also in confidence, teamwork, and important life skills. They feel included, supported, and excited to be there. You really can't put a price on their smiles. They also get plenty of opportunities to compete in multiple tournaments, both in house and at other clubs, which makes the experience well worth the investment. We're grateful to be part of the Pipeline family and are looking forward to another great season!

After spending several years in club volleyball across multiple clubs in the San Gabriel Valley,,…read moreour family can honestly say that Stormbreaker has been the best overall club experience we've had. What makes Stormbreaker different is that it was specifically created to solve frustrations that parents and players commonly experience in club volleyball. One of the biggest issues in club volleyball is roster size. Many clubs carry 12-14 players, meaning some girls spend large portions of tournaments on the bench, players worry about being substituted out after mistakes, and teammates feel like competitors fighting for the same playing time. Stormbreaker intentionally keeps rosters smaller, typically around 9-10 players. The girls are not only on the court more often, but they have a defined role and purpose. They are part of every match and rotation rather than wondering if they will see the floor. That consistency allows players to develop confidence through real game experience instead of constantly worrying about being replaced. Another major difference is training volume. Most clubs provide two practices per week. Stormbreaker provides three, plus additional opportunities for clinics, scrimmages, and position-specific development. More touches, more repetitions, and more feedback lead to more growth. Practices are also structured differently. Stormbreaker often has multiple teams training simultaneously with four or more coaches actively involved. Athletes are divided into position groups. Setters with setting coaches, hitters with hitting coaches, liberos on defense and serve receive, middles on middle-specific skills. The specialized instruction and repetition the girls receive is dramatically higher than what we experienced elsewhere. Stormbreaker also has something most clubs don't offer: a dedicated strength and athletic development area called The Vault. The girls participate in structured conditioning sessions focused on athleticism, explosiveness, core strength, injury prevention, and volleyball-specific performance. We've personally watched players become stronger, jump higher, and gain confidence over a single season. We also appreciated that development was built into the club experience rather than requiring constant outside lessons. Between three practices, specialized coaching, strength training, clinics, and additional opportunities for extra reps, our daughter received far more development within the program itself than we experienced elsewhere. Stormbreaker is also not built around a single coach. Jonathan, the club director, is deeply involved and genuinely cares about players and families. He has invested tremendous time studying collegiate, Olympic, and high-level volleyball development systems so coaches work from a shared philosophy. Unlike many clubs where your experience depends almost entirely on one coach, Stormbreaker has worked to build a consistent developmental system. The goal is that players continue progressing regardless of which coach they have because the training philosophy, skill development priorities, and expectations are shared across the club. What impressed me most, however, is the culture. The emphasis is not only on volleyball skills but on character, confidence, resilience, leadership, and personal growth. The club's mission and core values show up in how coaches interact with players, how families support one another, and how girls are encouraged to grow as athletes and young people. Our own team faced plenty of challenges. We had players learning new positions, several first-year club athletes, and periods of instability that could have derailed development. Instead, we watched the girls improve dramatically. They became more skilled, more confident, more competitive, and more resilient. Our daughter gained meaningful court time, developed confidence, and grew more in a single season than we expected. More importantly, she genuinely looked forward to practices and finished the season loving the game even more than when she started. We've spoken with many families from other Stormbreaker teams, and our experience is not unique. Parents consistently share that their daughters improved more in one season than in previous years elsewhere. No club is perfect, and Stormbreaker is still growing. But it was intentionally built to address problems many families have simply accepted as normal in club volleyball. They created an environment where athletes can develop, compete, build confidence, and genuinely enjoy the game. For our family, the difference has been significant, and we are grateful for everything our daughter gained this season both on and off the court.

I "believed" I was so lucky that Keith was willing to place our daughter as full time libero on his 16s team. Season cost around $3800. Practices were always cancelled. He would arrive late to tournaments. The girls didn't even have balls to warm up with. The other teams would let us borrow them. He even left mid game one tournament because he was frustrated with the way they were playing. How about you actually coach them and have practice available?! For a while practice was with locals because there was no coaching. This is supposed to be a 16s 1s travel team. This last weekend they were supposed to have a 2 day tournament in Anaheim, SCVA championships. We get a message saying he has made an executive decision to end the season early and has canceled the last two tournaments, including the big tournament which is the summer soirée. Come to find out, after someone investigated, he NEVER signed the team up. Which means he just pocketed that money! We asked for a refund since he decided the team was no longer going to have practices or games. He offered to move our daughter up to the 18s team. My husband wrote back declining. He proceeded to blame the girls. BEWARE!!! Keith only cares about filling his pocket. He will not take responsibility for his lack of professionalism and wants to call himself a coach. There was a lot of potential on this team, but he did not put any effort into them. His priority was the 18s team since his daughter is a part of it. I was warned but I never thought someone would be that greedy and lack integrity. Do yourself a favor and just pay for privates from other clubs, it's not worth the risk and you are just wasting your money.

I would say many if not most consider similar criteria such as great coaches, wins, cost, location and culture. Let me start off by saying-- Our daughter has learned and developed more at FIGS in ONE year than 4 years at any other club thanks to Juanchi and Caitlyn! FIGS is NOT about "how many people can I pack into my club and take club fees and move on." They are very family oriented and care about the players. Not only do they take the time to get to know the girls but the parents as well. I love that they actually care about the players improving their volleyball skills and working with the players to meet their goals- not just letting them make the same mistakes over and over. The facility has everything a player needs to be a great volleyball player including top elite coaching and an amazing culture. It seemed like finding a club that didn't have drama or a toxic culture wouldn't be possible until we met Juanchi. FIGS was highly recommended to us by friends for a while, and I'm glad we finally found our volleyball home. I could go on forever about all the great things this club has to offer. You couldn't find a better club than FIGS and their coaches. They are a very honest and straightforward volleyball club. There's no gimmicks or distractions. You're there to work with the best, be the best and play against the best! They have such amazing credentials and professional background in all their areas of expertise-- you won't be disappointed and happy that at the end of the season you have money and time well spent and not just a tournament T shirt and an empty bank account. FIGS is the place if you're looking for the best... otherwise move over-- our girls have work to do.
