This bowling center is clean, has a very welcoming staff and a great deal onFriday afternoons. My family and I played next to some great friendly people and laughed and had a ton of fun. For the most part, the technology was trouble free. Had to call once but was very quickly resolved. The food at the snack bar, though, is very high priced for what you get. Hot dogs are small with no onions or sourkraut but pay $4. Save your money for a Costco deal which is cheaper and bigger. Otherwise, a great place to bowl. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! Travis is the worst person I have ever encountered in my entire life as a customer. I will not return until he is fired. He is a pompous person, who belittles children, doesn't offer solutions and thinks being technically correct means he has the right to treat customers like garbage. Sorry but this is as short as I can make it. My 11 y/o son walked into the bowling center before me and put a quarter into a gumball machine but it was out of gumballs. My son asked for a refund since it was out of gumballs. This is when I walked into the situation. Travis said the machines are not owned by the bowling alley so he can't give a refund or his till would be off. My son said that it's unfair for him to not get his money back and Travis told him to "sue him for the quarter". That is when I jumped into the conversation. I attempted to be nice and just asked for the quarter back since he could get the quarter from the people who own the machines. He said, No and that it wasn't his problem since they didn't own the machines. He also didn't try to offer a solution or information about how to contact the people who do own the machines. He and I had a back and forth spat where he kept insulting my son saying things like, "he should pay better attention next time, look to see if there are gumballs in there before putting in the quarter." Or when I said why is there no out of order sign on it, he said it works there are just no gumballs right now. After 2 minutes of this I looked at Travis and said, "this is clearly going nowhere so let's move on." I asked for his name and took a picture incase the name was incorrect. We paid to bowl and went to our lane. In that hour I saw Travis starting at me a few times. When I was walking out of the bowling area and past the front desk Travis decides to say "Thank you" in a sarcastic tone but I chose to keep walking. So he made another comment about me taking a picture. I responded that he was a smug person who was technically correct about the quarter but had terrible customer service. His response was "At least I am smarter than a gumball machine." That is when I shouted out to the whole bowling alley that Travis, an adult, is making fun of a child and to watch your children around him. While this was happening the cook in the food court was making baby crying faces at me just putting icing on the cake of the type of culture this business has. From there I walked out and Travis said to never return and take my business to River City Bowling. Keep in mind this is all over a quarter. So, I will be doing exactly that and I will not be spending any more money at Sunset bowling and I will be telling everyone I know about this situation. After reading all the other negative reviews, I am not sure why the staff thinks they can treat customers so poorly. Maybe b/c they are 1 of 2 bowling alleys in the area but they are guaranteeing their competitor more money. It's a shame b/c with the winter season upon us bowling becomes a regular activity for my family. I was even thinking of joining a league this year. read more

Don't go. This place is terrible. Went for sons birthday with friendS on a weekday afternoon. The customer service was aweful...unless you were a "league bowler". The lanes were slow and the score keeping kept messing up . Had to reset the lanes several times as well as manually fix scores. The kitchen was closed and we weren't able to bring in anything to drink or snack on except what was in the vending machine which was severely overpriced. We asked about the bumpers and it was a huge inconvenience to set them. This place was not family friendly at all! Don't waste your money or your time there. read more

Travis ruined our experience here. I've been going to this bowling alley for years; in fact, I met my wife here. A young man named Travis had always been unwelcoming and unfriendly at the front desk, but it never bothered me till today. This is the first negative comment I've ever written about a business, but this needed to be said. On Sunday, March 30th, 2024, my wife and I went bowling there. The machine was slower than usual, and even with an hour pass on lane 11, we didn't think we could finish even two games, when we can usually play three. Around 30 minutes into our hour, we just started the second game, and the machine was stalling for even longer than it was before my wife's turn. Finally, the pin setting machine's rails lifted, and the TV indicated it was my wife's turn. After she had released the 7 lb bowling ball, the pin setting machine malfunctioned and closed again, and the bowling ball hit the rail of the pin setting machine. Travis ignored us while walking down from the front desk. After getting my wife's ball, which was now in the gutter, annoyed, he made a very rude and cold remark towards my wife. "Good job, you broke the machine, go to isle 12." I assumed he was joking, assuming no manager would be that rude to customers, especially when it wasn't my wife's fault. I went to the counter a few minutes later, bothered by his remark. He was not kidding, under the impression that it was my wife's fault for breaking the machine. He told me he saw us bowl even though the rail was down and that we broke the machine. I tried to kindly explain that the rails were up when she bowled and that it was unprofessional to accuse us like that, but he continued to restate that we broke the machine. Very irritated, very annoyed, he repeatedly rolled his eyes at my remarks. Seeing the conversation was going nowhere, I asked for his supervisor's contact information. He shook his head and smirked, "No, you're not getting that info." I was confident that if they checked the cameras, they would see that my wife was in the right. All I wanted was for him to apologize to my wife. At that point, my wife and I both left the alley. Sunset lost our loyalty due to Travis's bad behavior, and we will not be returning. read more

Went here to bowl with my husband and two kids. Luckily I read the reviews ahead of time so I knew what to expect with the customer service. There are signs everywhere that say " We are understaffed so we are doing the best we can." or something like that. I feel like that gives them an excuse to be rude or short with you. Anyway, we went bowling and got four pairs of shoes for about $40. The guy at the counter wasn't pleasant, but he wasn't unpleasant. Our ball kept not coming back to the ball center, so I had to continuously go back and ask him to reset our lane or get our balls back and he did. I went to order food and the guy was the same as the other guy, not unpleasant but not stellar either. Same signs at the food counter. Ordered my chicken strips and mozzarella sticks and drinks and was on my way. Food was good, they charge you for extra sauces and refills for soda. Which not complaining either, they have signs stating as such. Overall, a good experience. Will be back if we are in the area with nothing better to do. read more

I feel like this bowling center is a perfect example of why bowlero is starting to take over bowling nationwide. With them you can at least get clean shoes that you aren't pulling garbage off of, access to an assist rack and employees that have baseline sense to put a party with two toddlers on a lane with bumpers. Heck maybe they just mistook my 3 foot hellions for PBA pros with a genetic height disorder. I guess that would make sense. Now that I am thinking about it maybe the alley was recently robbed and the thieves took all of the wire brushes for the house shoes. That would explain why I spent 15 minutes feeling off scotch tape and gunk from the second pair of shoes, a pair that at least didn't try and end my life. The robbery would also explain why the front deskman seemed to have a seething hatred of the customers. Overall maybe you can be happy with a league here as you have your own equipment that won't try to injure you and you don't need to talk to the front desk kid who hates you. read more

We have been regular patrons for quite some time in the Turkey Shoot Lounge. The staff is exemplary and will go far above and beyond to take care of their patrons, which is the reason we kept coming back. Recently the price of everything in the bar and restaurant was increased significantly, to the point where we cannot afford to be frequent patrons any longer. The kitchen staff should be using their skills at a much finer establishments because they are incredibly talented! The bar staff is amazing and works for a pittance plus tips. Unfortunately the son of the owners "needs to make more money" at the sacrifice of their incredible staff. We understand that the cost of everything has gone up, but my paycheck has not increased, nor has the pay of the employees of The Sunset Bowl or the Turkey Shoot Lounge. I am DONE supporting greed over the livelihoods of hard working people. read more

Manager on duty at 3:30pm working front counter on Sunday Aug 28th 2022 extremely rude and argumentative, stated that he would kick us off lane for kids bowl free program at 5pm, app clearly states that bowling alley participates and their hours are until 6pm which wouod be false advertising if not allowed. When I asked for a manager he stated he was the manager. When I asked for the owner he refused to provide information to contact the owner. The workers are rude. I was wearing my normal shoes before switching to bowling shoes down by the lanes. I wasn't even standing on the actual bowling lane with my shoes on. When some lady yelled "no outside shoes!!". I would have wished she told me nicely when we rented the shoes but instead I was yelled at like I was a kid at school. Not a pleasant experience. The Turkey Shoot lounge inside the Bowling alley is a great place for drinks and a game (NFL, NBA, MLB and others). Until three days ago, they also sold food and drinks at a really reasonable and fair price. The service and servers are awesome. The staff is exceptional. However, the owners decided to do a company wide price increase that out paced 1970's era inflation! A reasonable price turned in to us no longer going there for a Great Meal and a reasonably priced drink. We have been patrons for a long time (well over 10 years). The chefs and chef there can make food that are EXCEPTIONAL! They have priced even the middle/upper class citizens out of the market and unwilling to go there nearly as frequently as before! They let people who are on tab cut in line in the bar and won't say or do anything about it even though there's other people who have been waiting in line for over 30 minutes. After 9 you can't get a drink from the food center, vending machine doesn't work and the water fountains are shut off so I couldn't even get a drink. What a mess. DONT COME HERE. I have bowled on league at Sunset since I was a kid, and have grown to know most of the staff. However, if I didn't know them I would think they were rude and unprofessional like most everyone else who comes in contact with them. We have a yearly tradition of bowling New Year's Day. This year like every year we showed up to bowl with a group of 18 (mix of mostly adults and a handful of kids) Both the bar and snack bar were closed, we were told they wouldn't open until 4pm since it was a weekday. When someone else in our group asked, we were told they would open whenever the bartender decided to show up for work.... ???? I wish this establishment were run like a true business, either all of its open or none of it. What a joke. I won't spend my time trying to make Sunset what it used to be; I'll just take my business elsewhere from now on. read more

Sunday Feb. 20 2022, I have been bowling at Sunset for 35yrs and my family has had two bad experiences and it needs to be told and address by the owner of this facility. Your front desk help plays favorites to customers and we specifically asked to be by adults not young children who don't have bowling etiquette and it's very disturbing and their were plenty of lanes to accommodate us . So we will never come back, and when I told the boy at the desk he said don't come on the weekend very rudely , shameful taking care of customers this way. read more

We came in Monday night for night bowling and the skinny guy in the glass told us it was an hour wait so to hang around. Fast forward to the end of the hour. We walk up to the counter and he refused to give us a lane. Saying we weren't on some list he had just created. After that we were like can you just put us on the list but he kept yelling at us to back up and get out of the way of the new customer coming in. All we wanted was to just be put on the list. Lucky a nice lady stepped in to put us on a list that the man was not allowing us on. Don't recommend coming on Monday night when that man is here. read more

While the lady that signs you in for bowling will not win any awards for friendlyness, this place is a nice and a fun place to bowl. Love the Thunder bowling evenings. DJ, drinks, and fun!! Good place for the teenagers to hangout at on those nights. The bar area is very smokey, and at times ordering drinks can be slow, but its a dang bowling alley, what can one expect!! The drinks are poured perfect for those that visit often. They even covered medical expenses for us after a slip and fall due to excessive dancing!! All in all a great place, run well, and a good place to even watch football games if the smoke does not bother you in the bar. read more

I've traveled to hundreds of bowling alleys for tournaments and they have been one of the most organized, clean, and well maintained alleys that I've bowled on. Our visit today 10-27-22 started off alright... The desk lady Sarah was very rude & unpleasant.. Tomorrow is my birthday so we thought we could celebrate, being that my sister and brother inlaw had work on my birthday, we decided to bowl today. We came in at 1 wanted one lane but she suggested 2 because there were 5 of us so we kindly requested just one. She still ended up giving us 2 so we went up and asked again for one so she got snoody and changed it. My brother inlaw went up to the desk & asked about possibly getting a pitcher of beer & she rudely told him that the kitchen wasn't open until 4 and showed him the sign he clearly didn't see & he was like okay and walked away. Then I went up like 20 minutes later (not thinking anything about the kitchen because this was our first time there) & asked how we go about getting a pitcher of water & she snapped at me saying "YOU DON'T. THE KITCHEN IS CLOSED. WE HAVE WATER FOUNTAINS AND VENDING MACHINES." I was like, Oh okay... so I went back to our lane.. Then a ball got stuck on our second game & we thought maybe if we have another one go down it might hit it lose? It didn't so we called for assistance. When Sarah came to the top of the steps & my brother inlaw said the lane is blocked up. Then she extremely rude was like "Well how many balls are down there??" We said possibly 3 & then she was like " DON'T YOU THINK ITS ASININE TO PUT MORE BALLS DOWN THE LANE IF ITS ALREADY BLOCKED, ASK NEXT TIME WHEN ONE GETS STUCK" snd walked away. we didn't know! & don't get me started on how she acted when we asked for a refund because we had just HAD IT being there. She called my sister SIR not once but TWICE... She said we couldn't talk to anyone but her. Horrible experience. She said there was 2 worker & there was only 2 lanes open... 2 groups there, us being one of them. I do not recommend & they do not do cash refunds even when the service is terribly bad. We called to make reservations to bowl on New Years Eve because we had only 5 people they told us we didn't need a reservation and we would be just fine after we walked in the door they told us that we were burnt because they were starting their New Year's Eve party at 9 but we could rent a lane for the entire night then they told us to our face that we were liars and they were very clear about what the night was going to be which is an absolute lie don't go there don't waste your time don't waste your money don't support their business read more

We decided between River City Lanes and Triple Play to go to Sunset and got there and the wrong information was given to us, which was a group of 9. We called ahead and we where told we would not have any problems getting in and prices. All wrong. They where rude when we got there and not professional. Would not recommend. Went for a mid afternoon cocktail with friends. Walked into the bar (separate entrance that was open). Sat for 10mins with out my friend and I being acknowledged once! Some guy was behind the bar talking to a gal- thought maybe he would say Hi! Be with you in a minute! Or hey sorry we are closed- don't open til 4. Either one would have been good. However after 10 mins we walked out and then called the bowling alley and asked if the bar was open, only to be told - no, not until 4pm.
