    Triple Play - 4/12/26

    Triple Play

Triple Play gets the job done for a quick, local place to kill a few hours with your kids. They do…read morea lot of things, but none of them terribly well, and it costs an arm and a leg. You're paying for the convience of something right in town rather than taking a trip to Silverwood or out to Silver Mountain. The amusements are scaled-down to fit in a commercial building and nothing is terribly thrilling. I think the age-range sweet spot is maybe 6 to 12, older kids would probably be a bit underwhelmed. Food is pretty affordable and what you'd expect (pizza, french fries, ice cream). Seating for grown ups is hard to come by and really uncomfortable so if you're bringing your kids out prepare to be bored with a sore ass and/or feet. I reccomend headphones and an audiobook. The arcade is insanely expensive IMO. Games start around $1-2 and range up to $7 for a single game. You can go through $20 per kid n half an hour easily. The indoor water park is a nice option in winter. It's $30 and you can stay all day. Come early to grab your beach chairs or they will be gone. I posted a video showing the size and scope. Not amazing but pretty decent. Adults can pay $5 rather than $30 if you're simply going to watch your kids, but this puts you up on barren balcony of sadness that looks like an afterthought / fire escape with really uncomfortable seating.

At first I thought it was a little expensive. But after 11 hours of fun there with my daughter…read moreand granddaughter, I have changed my mind. I would say we definitely received value for the money we spent! We stayed at the attached hotel (which did not impress me, see my separate review for them) so we hit the amusement park right at opening at 10am. We enjoyed the attractions and arcades until dinner time, then we went back to the room, changed clothes and hit the water park until about 9pm. My granddaughter was on sensory overload the entire day. Never a dull moment for her. The reason I deducted a star from what otherwise was a 5 star experience? Their pricing for children is unfair in my opinion. It is based on age (e.g. kids "X" and under pay less) when it should be based on height. My granddaughter is quite small for her age. Because of this, she was shut out of many of the attractions. Which I totally understand and agree with for safety. However....we had to pay full price for her even though she could not enjoy a quarter of the attractions. They really should consider changing their policy to "kids under 40 inches pay less" type pricing instead of basing it on age. Since height is really what determines what they can and cannot enjoy here. But, despite this set back, the three of us managed to have a GREAT day at this park. Would I go back there? Oh...heck ya! And I would suggest you do likewise.

Gets pretty crowded and the splash pad area can be a little overwhelming for young kids. The huge bucket drop of water didn't seem to be the best option for the toddler area The lazy river was nice and slides looked super fun for the older kids. Worth the small fee you have to pay (best done in advance online) to enter.

We visited the Southside Family Aquatic Facility on a Saturday afternoon and unfortunately had a…read moredisappointing experience due to a rigid and unyielding ticket policy. Our group was split into two parties: the first half (two adults and two children) arrived around 2:30 PM and were able to purchase tickets and enter without issue. The second half of our group (one adult and two young children) arrived shortly after at 3:00 PM, unaware that tickets had sold out for the day. Since none of us had purchased tickets in advance, they were denied entry despite arriving only 30 minutes later. What made the situation particularly upsetting was that several families were visibly leaving the facility as we spoke with staff. We asked if it would be possible for our friends to take the spots of those who had exited, but were told this was not allowed under any circumstances. Even when a kind stranger inside the park offered to give up their spots for our group, the staff refused to make any accommodations. The policy was presented as inflexible, with no room for compassion or situational discretion--despite two very disappointed young children crying at the gate. To make matters worse, an employee (likely a teenage staff member) seated behind the front counter repeatedly told the front desk attendant "no" each time she asked if an exception could be made, leaving her to be the bearer of bad news without offering any personal engagement or empathy. We understand the need for rules and capacity limits, especially for safety. However, it seems entirely reasonable to re-evaluate a system that prevents entry even when space clearly becomes available. A little flexibility or humanity--particularly when dealing with families and small children--would go a long way.

There was a cool breeze through the canopies on a very warm day and garbage cans to dispose of our leftovers. When we stumbled upon the gorgeous flower gardens, I could not believe it. There were multiple gardeners working outside of the conservatory and although it was closed, I can't imagine that there was anything more beautiful inside than what we saw outside. We were able to sit over at the benches and rally enjoy the fountain and manicured flowers. There was a large, veryrude family that did come through who wanted to scream at their kids and then try to take photographs in front of the flowers like a happy family. Then allow their smaller children to stomp through the flowers and scream loudly while they stared at their phones. And there were of course at least two young ladies posing for "the gram" that picked flowers and made obnoxious gestures in ridiculously skimpy clothes... I guess those types of things can't be helped these days and they are no reflection on the garden itself, just be prepared for your peace to be interrupted. We also made a quick stop at the Rose garden which I did not find to be quite as beautiful but smelled lovely... There were just too many bugs and it was there were just too many bugs and it was far too warm to spend much time there. If I lived closer to this park, I would come everyday to listen to the sound of the fountain and appreciate the beauty of the topiaries and flowers and I would recommend a stop here for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature.
