They have lots of areas to explore including a massive rose garden, manicured and sculpted gardens, green house, and Japanese gardens. Plan to spend at least 2 hours here to take it all in. There was a cool breeze through the canopies on a very warm day and garbage cans to dispose of our leftovers. When we stumbled upon the gorgeous flower gardens, I could not believe it. There were multiple gardeners working outside of the conservatory and although it was closed, I can't imagine that there was anything more beautiful inside than what we saw outside. We were able to sit over at the benches and rally enjoy the fountain and manicured flowers. There was a large, veryrude family that did come through who wanted to scream at their kids and then try to take photographs in front of the flowers like a happy family. Then allow their smaller children to stomp through the flowers and scream loudly while they stared at their phones. And there were of course at least two young ladies posing for "the gram" that picked flowers and made obnoxious gestures in ridiculously skimpy clothes... I guess those types of things can't be helped these days and they are no reflection on the garden itself, just be prepared for your peace to be interrupted. We also made a quick stop at the Rose garden which I did not find to be quite as beautiful but smelled lovely... There were just too many bugs and it was there were just too many bugs and it was far too warm to spend much time there. If I lived closer to this park, I would come everyday to listen to the sound of the fountain and appreciate the beauty of the topiaries and flowers and I would recommend a stop here for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature.

What I don't like is that if they have events where they close it to the public, they 1. Don't tell the public 2. They don't allow for any type of discounts or adjustments to the price. For example, we live 45 minutes away from the valley mall. We drove all the way down for my kids to play there because they've been begging. But they had an event that started in one hour so they said my kids could only play an hour. That was fine, I thought, but they were unwilling to either charge me 50% of the 2 hour minimum charge, or let me pay the full amount for two kids-- which would seem reasonable to me if we were forced to leave for an hour. They wouldn't make any adjustments or help in anyway so we ended up just leaving without going in, which made my kids very upset. I'd think they'd try to work with people but apparently not. Other than that, it's a clean facility and I enjoyed going there, though I haven't been back since.

It cost us $17 for our child, $7 for one adult (the other was free), and then $2.99 each for "full grip socks" that we were forced to buy, even though my child already had grip socks that were deemed "not full grip" with a side of "Oh we will let that slide today." Meanwhile, parents who were part of a birthday party were clearly wearing regular shoes without issue. When my husband mentioned he wouldn't even enter the playground, they still insisted he purchase socks. Once we got inside, it was utter chaos. There's no structure or staff oversight. In the toddler section, my son tried to interact with another child while playing with a toy ice cream stand, only to be pushed repeatedly by the other child. This happened three times before the other parent finally intervened--after we called out for them. Most parents were sitting on the sidelines glued to their phones, oblivious to their kids' behavior. The worst part was in the "4 and under" section, where older kids were spinning dangerously fast on a toy, hanging off the sides and running recklessly around it. My son was simply walking nearby when they knocked him over. There was no staff monitoring this area, no one enforcing age limits, and no one available to address safety concerns. This place is a disaster. If you're looking for a safe, structured, and enjoyable environment for your child, do not come here. It's overpriced, poorly managed, and unsafe. We will not be returning.

A nice little get away within the city to explore nature…read more I stopped here for a little walk after having breakfast nearby. There are trails that are marked and a sign at the beginning pointing out the routes you can take. I only explored for a mile or so, but it was a perfect little get away. I came across many families that were coming to a small playground area for their toddlers or families that were hiking the overall easy pathways with their children. A pretty, perfect little escape for a quick, overall easy hike. I'd recommend!

Yes! Every city should have a wonderful walking space like this. Surprised about the history of the park more than anything else. Build in the 1970s for the World's Fair where dozens of leaders from around the globe including Russian Federation during the Cold War were all in Spokane to discuss about green energy and resource management. This park will be interesting if the focus was on this history, who visited where and what exactly was discussed and agreed on.

I didn't get a chance to see the rest of the park due to the fact that I was her Maid of Honor and it was drizzling outside. I loved the fact that the gazebo was so large. Mission Park is a 13 acre park very conveniently located walking distance from Gonzaga University…read moreand the heart of the Logan neighborhood. If you find yourself on campus and looking for a more kid friendly area (aka slides and splash pads) I would recommend a walk on down to the park! It has a large bank of tennis courts (with evening play available due to the lights!). It also has a pool! Many times when I've been here there is some kind of swimming competition occurring in the pool. Last time I stopped by they had some new fitness play equipment for adults. I have an interest in unique playground equipment so I thought this was pretty cool considering the retirement facility located right on the edge of the park. You can grab picnic supplies at the nearby Safeway or takeout from the nearby Thai restaurant and enjoy the beautiful summer weather in Spokane. I frequently see people picnicking here. One really important part of Mission Park that I must mention is the memorial to Otto Zehm. He was a mentally-ill man killed by the Spokane police in 2006. The simple memorial was placed in 2012 as part of a settlement with the city of Spokane. As a community it is important to remember the legacy of Otto Zehm and I think a visit to this memorial is an important visit for any local or tourist.

Tip: While there are some beautiful things to see, and the terrain here isn't particularly difficult, the signage is really bad so it's very easy to get lost :-( The trails here are good for hiking, running, and evening bike riding!  As I didn't bring my bike on the first visit I'm not quite sure how far you can go on the trail, but I'd love to find out sometime :-)
