Unfortunately since attending as an adult I have been SO FRUSTRATED with the gym. When I initially signed up I made it clear I wanted the family membership specifically for the outdoor pool because we have 3 kids. They got me signed up on a year contract and everything seemed fine. I went to the gym to workout and use the jacuzzi and found out then that there was no more jacuzzi AND the women's locker room one was still not fixed! I was pissed but moved on and didn't say anything. Summer comes and I had asked the front desk when the outdoor pool opens and they kept telling me "sometime in June"....end of June came and I asked again, now being told the outdoor pool is being fixed so it was closed for the summer!! (It's still closed by the way) THE WHOLE REASON I AM PAYING FOR A FAMILY MEMBERSHIP WAS FOR THE POOL!! So I asked if I could just switch to a single membership because my kids can't use ANY of the other amenities ( even though there aren't any). The indoor pool is barely ever available for open swim, so why would I have a family membership if they aren't even family friendly! They told me that wasn't possible. So I have had to continue paying a family fee even though I am the only one able to access anything. THEN, I moved to the Central Park location and it's the same there!! The indoor pool is NEVER available!! I just took my kids in today because the pool hours are Wednesdays 4-7.. CLOSED!!!! I am beyond annoyed with how they keep there gym! All of the "amenities " that they offer online aren't actually available AND they keep raising the prices!! I will NOT be renewing my membership once my year is up. This used to be the best gym in Spokane.

Apparently when new ownership took over they changed the contracts to state they can raise the price any time. In addition to this, they also removed 2 tennis courts. I agreed to pay $105 a month to have access to 4 tennis courts. They reduced the value I was receiving and raised my price. $155 was not in my budget and I expressed this to them. They did not care. After I canceled they charged me again. I wasn't going to write a review but after receiving a collection bill in the mail, I feel I must let people know that this IS NOT A PLACE YOU SHOULD DO BUSINESS WITH. :) Have a good day. Oh also, their sauna is disgusting like they haven't cleaned it in 15 years...lol Pool is closed often.

So when I finally get back there to talk to her and begin my appointment, at long last, the lady acts like she could care less and says well we have 9 minutes she said like with an attitude of total indifference. I asked if she had an appointment immediately after mine? She says "that's how I work" and her tone was still very uninterested in the fact that I just stopped everything I was doing to come down here, changed my clothes, etc.. She just chews her gum and looked at me like I can't event find the word for how disrespected it made me feel.. yeah I would not recommend Eva to be your physical trainer

This is a gorgeous park and botanical garden bustling with people and butterflies and life!…read moreWe stopped here to have some lunch under the covered picnic area and were surrounded by green grass and the sound of children playing at the nearby playground. There was a cool breeze through the canopies on a very warm day and garbage cans to dispose of our leftovers. When we stumbled upon the gorgeous flower gardens, I could not believe it. There were multiple gardeners working outside of the conservatory and although it was closed, I can't imagine that there was anything more beautiful inside than what we saw outside. We were able to sit over at the benches and rally enjoy the fountain and manicured flowers. There was a large, veryrude family that did come through who wanted to scream at their kids and then try to take photographs in front of the flowers like a happy family. Then allow their smaller children to stomp through the flowers and scream loudly while they stared at their phones. And there were of course at least two young ladies posing for "the gram" that picked flowers and made obnoxious gestures in ridiculously skimpy clothes... I guess those types of things can't be helped these days and they are no reflection on the garden itself, just be prepared for your peace to be interrupted. We also made a quick stop at the Rose garden which I did not find to be quite as beautiful but smelled lovely... There were just too many bugs and it was there were just too many bugs and it was far too warm to spend much time there. If I lived closer to this park, I would come everyday to listen to the sound of the fountain and appreciate the beauty of the topiaries and flowers and I would recommend a stop here for anyone who appreciates the beauty of nature.

Yet another wonderful way to channel off kids' natural "hyperactivity!"…read more My seven-year-old Wild Child is currently attending the Skyhawks half-day baseball camp for 6-8 year-old kids. It's a program that Alameda Parks and Recreation Department coordinates with its Summer Program Aftercare at the park's local camp. This is the third Skyhawks camp he's attended. Last year he attended two "Minihawk" camps for 4-6 year olds which combine basketball, soccer, and baseball which is obviously suitable for the younger short attention spans. My now teen MySpace cadet also took the soccer and flag football Skyhawks Sports camps when he was younger in Piedmont. My then neighbor in Oakland's teen son, who was a Cal. Sports Camp counselor through UCB told me that the Skyhawks coaches actually trained his group and spoke very highly of them. The Skyhawks coaches do have to creatively problem-solve quite a bit. For example, when my MySpace cadet was in the flag football sports camp, he and one other boy were at least a foot taller then the rest of the same age group. MySpace cadet was slim, however, and the other guy was a big, well, let's just say like "Baby Huey." On the first day playing flag football, Baby Huey promptly fell-tackled (yes, even though it was "flag football") on the smallest camper putting that camper out of commission for the rest of the week. The coach creatively solved the "Baby Huey" issue by having my MySpace cadet "block" Baby Huey from falling on any other campers for the rest of the week! Workin' the offense and defense very well. It worked! All of these camps, in my experience, have excellent coaches who place emphasis on fun, safety and sportsmanship. Could you ask for much more from a summer camp? PS: for those Yelpers who either are too young, stoned, enebriated and/or too old and senile to remember what Baby Huey looked like: http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/tiger-tracker/files/2008/04/babyhuey.jpg

They should have still held the lessons regardless of number of attendees. This is extremely frustrating since we are both working parents with two toddlers and very busy and took lots of time to find these lessons. This company fails to understand that people need to sign up for classes ahead of time so this screwed us over since we could have signed our son up for swimming lessons instead but now it's too late. Thanks a lot for leaving us hanging and for the terrible treatment. We will NOT be trusting this company ever again.
