Paved 0.4 mile loop around the outside. Half-court basketball with four hoops. Horseshoe pits. Playground features two big kid swings and two toddler swings, small climbing wall, and a fairly extensive jungle gym given the size of the park. Playground is fenced in with an exit on each side so it's easier to contain children.

The north side of the park has an expansive sloped lawn that is kept lush and tidy. It's great for resting and lying in the sun, but doesn't serve as well for sports and games since it's on a pretty steep incline. Moving south across the parking area, you'll find access to the Moore-Turner Heritage Gardens, which are a real hidden gem. The gardens are well-tended, secluded, and wonderfully arranged. The downside is that the gardens are gated and kept on a separate schedule. The schedule isn't great in the best of times (IMO) and during Covid it's been completely shut down. Running alongside the gardens is the "Tiger Trail" which is basically a set of rough-hewn stone steps leading up to the overlook on W. Cliff Drive. Great views up here and it is a popular place for folks to park, stroll, or lounge briefly and take in the views. The surrounding neighborhood is also a sight to behold and worthy of a walking tour in its own right.

Located just north of the city of Coeur D'Alene sits Hayden Lake, perfectly nestled in a quaint neighborhood with hillside homes and shady trees. Although a little small, the beach features plenty of areas to camp out near the shore or up the beach in the shade, and a dock to the right allowing for small watercrafts to launch into the water. We spotted the perfect spot for our party of 7 and set up camp. Docks surround the swimming area which allows for plenty of water depths to swim/float/dive/ect in! It was a beautiful day and the cold water felt amazing. The kids made sandcastles while the adults swam, floated and soaked up the sun. The snack shack features a wide variety of food and cold drinks ranging from sodas, and popsicles to pizzas, corndogs and more. Sure, prices are a little steep for the generic food, when I came back to the umbrella boasting cold popsicles, the kiddos loved it! The only major downside is parking. There isn't a designated lot, but spots line the road for at least a mile, so if you can't snag a spot up close (like we did!) be prepared to walk and schlep all your jazz to the beach. However, when back visiting family, I'd easily return to this quaint slice of paradise!

It enclosed an area for kids to swim around without having to worry about boats. The sandy beach area backs up to a grass. So play or lay in the sand or relax on the grass. Partly shady gives you options to take cover if it's too hot outside. Has a snack bar that is only seasonal. A volleyball area with a few picnic tables. A boat launch area and Bathrooms too. There's also a section with kids life jackets to use at not cost. The place is absolutely gorgeous. It's almost unreal The downside - it can get packed pretty quickly. So not a lot of elbow room on the those summer days when everyone wants to get out. There's not many options for parking. So if you're not lucky enough to snag a spot up close. You could end up parking 1/4 mile away. Still an amazing place to relax and have fun ! A must do !

A wonderful park except for one thing which is kind of a huge thing. People tend to not pick up…read moreafter their dogs even though it's a rule and the tacit societal agreement that you make when you use the dog park. I see people's dogs pooping and the people look around to see if anybody else sees it happening. Only then does it seem like they pick up after their dog. It's a shame. Other than that, it's an A+ rated dog park.

Add a water source to each run and this is a 3 star dog park. Also add shade and seating and it bumps up to a 4 star dog park. ** they have now added a water source to each run
