Jen was the old owner of Spokane Trail Rides and she was AMAZING, cared for her animals and took care of her clients! She has SO MANY reviews that arnt even posted. BUT I am writting this review because the- NEW OWNERS -Kat (Katilina Edmunds and Curtis Edmunds) should NOT board horses, be trusted with ANY KIND of Animals!!! None. They dont feed, they didnt listen to Jen on how the feeding should be continued. They didnt feed Angel the draft horse that passed because they didnt keep her diet going. These new owners are full of lies. We have PROOF of Testimonies from lots of people witnessing themselves of starving animals. Not keeping up with water for the animals. She frauded 20 people that I know about, could be way more. With the amounts she owes. So fraud. Animals malnourished and a Handful of animals passed as well before and After (Scraps) came out for them. Its so sad. I hope you take this review and make your own judgements. We have SO MUCH PROOF from many others. Not just Jen the old owner. I do hope they seize operations. ASAP!!!!!! THEY REBRANDED TO Hangman Ranch Boarding and trail riding. They wont show documents Jen " supposedlysigned and its looking like nore fraud but forgery!!!" Not good!!! They can come off nice, talk shit, behind your back, treat workers like shit, act like they know what they are doing, have a lie about Everything. TAKE 0 ACCOUNTABILITY FOR EVERYTHING. Its wild. This is a recommendation. No one made me write this at all. Do not board with them. Horse riding lessons. Trail rides. Give them animals. If you pay online she Will and Did cancel alot on people and Did not pay them back. Stopped all communication. And doesnt ever reschedule. And calls it (Non refundable) or the animals....... The best place to board your horse! Lots of space for fun activities with your horse and you get free range of the ranch! There's always something fun to do! Lots of cute animals and great staff! My boyfriend went on a trail ride while I was boarding and he fell in love with the horses and had a great time :) read more

My husband and I just moved to the Spokane area and were looking for a place to continue our love of horseback riding. After some digging, I found Spokane Trail Rides and Boarding and booked our Ride with the Giants. We were NOT disappointed! Our trail guide, Mrs. Leading Fox (forgive me, I belive her first name was Amy but don't quite remember - her last name is unforgettable though!) was absolutely AMAZING! She was so knowledgeable, sweet, and kind and made the whole experience even greater than it already was. BEWARE! I booked a ride on gentle giants for four people April 27th. There was only three draft horses. The 4th was NOT a draft horse AND my sister got THROWN off. The owner didn't even ask if she was okay. I highly recommend you find somewhere else to ride horses because these people don't care about nothing but their money. ​ read more

My boyfriend took me here today for a birthday surprise! It was fabulous! Our guide was Debbie and she was amazing, so friendly and informative! She made us feel very comfortable on our ride. Debbie led a trail ride for two of us and it was beyond our expectations. The horses were gentle and responsive to commands. The landscape was some of the most beautiful I have ever explored and to do so on horseback was a real treat. Debbie was an excellent instructor and guide with extensive knowledge about the area. Never had ridden a horse before and it was super easy and Debbie the guide was super helpful. She made sure no one fell behind and everyone was getting along with their horse. The trail was amazing and the perfect length filled with great views and a couple well placed breaks. Debbie made sure to take pictures for us so we could focus on controlling our horses. Went on a 12:30 trail ride on a Saturday with Bethany and it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. My husband is really tall and has an athletic build so we often can't find places where both of us can ride as most horses are too small for him. (I know that sounds crazy but it's just true). This time we both could as the horses we got were humongous draft horses! I love draft horses so much and they were very enjoyable to ride through the beautiful nearby conservation area. Bethany gave us a lot of information about the area and was just generally friendly and fun to chat with. Booking was super easy on their website. In short: inconsiderate, rude and unprofessional. Jen is incredibly unprofessional and does not respect your time. I set up an appointment for a horse lease and she cancelled not even 4 hours before our appointment due to her driving back from vacation late. We rescheduled another ride to check out the lease horse and do the lease. She said to call for the gate code when I was close but she didn't answer, I arrived 15 minutes early and she did not answer my call or text at the gate. Since I was a bit early I waited. Eventually she called me back and I got in after sitting at the gate almost 15 minutes. I arrived to see a woman saddled up on the horse I was going to lease when I was scheduled to ride him and decide on the lease. Jen also smelled like freshly burnt cannabis. Apparently, last minute she let the couple point out the horses they wanted for their proposal ride. She should have said no, that horse is booked. She makes more money on these rides so they are clearly a priority over keeping appointments. She tried to ignore it and show me around the farm and waste my time showing me bunny rabbits and puppies along with other horses I can't lease or ride. She told me 5 times that they like to sit around the bonfire, yes, I'm from the country, I've been to lots of fires...not a big selling point for me. At one point she started to say she could put me on a particular horse and I asked if it was for lease but she said no. I mean I'm all for going for a ride but I was there to find a lease. She was trying to waste time and not own up to the fact she had forgotten our appointment or intentionally blown it off, taking up my time when I had to get home to sleep for work. I scheduled one more appointment changing my plans around it again then she called me 4 hours prior stating she was cancelling AGAIN and wasn't going to lease the horse any more. She tried to cite my inexperience but also said the horse had a fall and saddle sores, all very different reasons. Although I am no expert, I grew up riding horses for years and trained my own horse from wild. Ive led people in and out of trails on pack horses for hunting. I've swam my horse, jumped lots of down trees and have ridden up and down lots of mountains hunting, campin etc. I've rented for years and am currently riding a horse belonging to a friend, he is just older and I don't want to ride him on long rides. She has no idea what my experience is, she has never seen me ride. Suddenly without asking she texted that she scheduled me for every day the next week, we never discussed it, very bizarre. Jen was disrespectful to her staff talking about them to me and even to the woman rider/customer who was about to be proposed to and didn't know it. She insulted her right before they left over some flint stones joke she didn't get. The boyfriend was clearly pissed but only briefly said something, probably not wanting to kill the mood "Wait, what? What are you doing?". Her Spanish speaking rider/trainer was telling his translator that he is getting tired of Jen yelling at him and treating him like a child in Spanish. He said she is acting like a $&@ cockroach. His translator brightly covered for him. She was clearly insulting to the man while I was there then talked down about him to me. Several of the horses on site have poor hooves. I can understand rescues having poor hooves but even the ones she has raised from birth have poor hooves, overgrown with curvature, large chips missing. I get the impression that maintenance and care are not well taken care of with exceptions to a few horses. I'm not sure why, maybe she has taken on too many horses and can't properly care for them. During my lease she wanted to be renting the horse out to other people. What a mess, I can only imagine with all the issues I had already, showing up to ride and where is my lease horse? The B&B is inside a hay barn and has hundreds of hay bales stacked inside of the building leaving little walking paths because they have nowhere else to put them. I hope none of the guests are smokers. It's super bleached out field hay so I hope if you are leasing there they let you bring your own hay with some nutrients. I see knapweed all over so I'm guessing it's from the cheap hay. (I used to cut and bale hay for several years). read more

This place is amazing! You leave straight from the ranch to a nearby conservation park that has hundreds of acres to ride on! Beautiful views, beautiful horses, and extremely knowledgeable trail guides! There are also B&B stalls and regular camping which is super cool so you can get away from the city for a night or two and enjoy some authentic cowboy experiences. Highly recommend!! read more

Trail ride was beautiful. The guide Tim was very good. However the service was not supreme. We had difficulty in the beginning to get any help after arrival because nobody was around. At the end we could not get out of the ranch because the gate opener was not working. We texted the owner however did not get any curtesy message back. That was disappointing. The owner Jen had to cancel our reservation last minute due to the heat, which is very understandable. However, she now refuses to return phone calls, texts, or emails to get us rescheduled and will not refund our deposit. She has been most unprofessional in dealing with her customers, and at this point has stolen our money. As somebody who has been here before, I will be sure to never return and turn as many people away as possible. read more

Horses are grand and the trail through a reserve has some great scenery and challenging areas which make for a great ride.

Friendly, beautiful scenery and horses- until something goes wrong. Horses are dangerous, but precautions are good. Problems: helmets not provided or suggested, riding in public park (with dogs, and in our case, guns/firecrackers - didn't tell us about public park beforehand) with horses apparently untrained for environment, no stirrup covers for people without riding boots. Owner didn't bother to talk to me (even though she was on the property) and had the gall to send me my gift card back and ask me to come again after husband dragged from stirrup on bolting horse. EMT's said this is 3rd call in 3 years. PLEASE - bring your helmet and think twice if not experienced. I should never have brought an inexperienced rider here. I have ridden horses for 10 yrs - the only reason I didn't come off my horse too is that he had a bit in his mouth so I could slow him down from a flat gallop - so maybe think twice about "bitless" philosophy. read more
