My family and I had such a fun time on the trail! Minors are required to wear helmets, optional for adults. It was a perfect mix of a little uphill, downhill, very scenic with the mountain views. The horses were well behaved and we had a pretty big group too. The kids rode up front behind our trail guide and then my husband and I were behind them. My stepdaughter who's 11 had Gravy who was such a well-trained horse. She barely had to steer. I had Emmy Lou and she also was amazing, barely had to steer her. My husband had Shiner who took every opportunity to eat which was funny. Our trail guide was great! We also met the owner who was really nice. They have a lot of horses. I had to go horseback riding because my stepdaughter is only 12 years old. The rule of the horseback riding trip is if the rider is a minor, then there has to be an adult accompanying him or her. My husband is probably scared of horses, so he made me signed myself up, knowing I am not fond of horse riding (the first time I was on a horse was when I was 9 years old). It was an easy find to go to the ranch. We walked into the meeting area, where we were briefed by the 2 guides about the horse and basic steps on how to maneuver with the horses in case they decide to stray off or something, but keep in mind these horses are able to keep up with single trail walking as long as they're feeling it and you as a rider aren't too nervous and tense because animals can sense your emotion, too! My horse just decided to stray off on his own for a bit, but I was able to guide him back to the group with the guide's help. My horse also decided that it was fun to run up the hill for a bit, and I was able to pull back on his reign to make him stop. Not the horse'a fault. It's animal's instinct. The part that really freaked me out most was when we all walked single line along the steep hill. I didn't want to look to my left because I didn't want to die. The horses are smart enough to not stray off from the path, so that was good. The ride is really 1 hour long like advertised in the payment. Remember that you will be greeted in the beginning, be introduced to your riding horse, be saddled up, be riding the whole way with 1 guide in the front of the line and 1 guide at the back of the line supervising, and be gone for about 1 good hour (ground level , up the hill, down the hill, then back to the ranch). The guides are really good about keeping up with the safety of the group, and the horses are good with their temperament. After the ride is over, the guides will help you get down from the horses and ask if you'd want some water and you are finished with your horse riding adventure. The horses around this ranch are muscular and well-taken care of, so .... No complain from me! Yes, my horse also wanted to snack some hay after the ride because he saw some hay from one of the stalls. I also got to see horse pooping and urinating, so how glorious was that ? read more

OK...a 1 hour Trail ride is $75. One of the higher hourly rates I've seen for Trail rides both here and in other states, but it is what it is. What REALLY surprised me was the 12% added costs in 'Taxes and Fees' added on top! Seriously...12% (another $9) for "Value Added Taxes, Goods and Services Taxes and other unidentified misc. taxes." I wasn't booking a resort hotel, rental car or a concert in Vegas for god's sake, just wanting to ride horse for an hour. Why has everything, even a simple activity like this, become a strategy of extracting the maximum possible amount of money from everyone for anything. Sad that this is what our country and the way people do business have become. To the owners, if you're contracting with a provider to mange your online bookings and this is "Their Cut", you may want to look at more reasonable alternatives. Ticketing agencies have become absurd in their added fee structures and ARE NOT consumer friendly! I'll be looking elsewhere in hopes of finding a bit more fairness. read more

We went on vacation in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and a few minutes away we found this amazing ranch to go on a trail ride. The grounds were beautiful and we had an amazing time! Our guides knew a lot about horses and the area. It was a great time out on the trail. We enjoyed every minute of it! The horses were clean and in great shape. They were the best horses we have taken on a trail ride. We will be back and we will refer our friends and family. The staff was friendly but our guide did not do anything to make the ride interesting. There were 6 guests and the guide and we rode single file on a very dusty trail for about an hour with hardly a word spoken. It would have been nice to stop occasionally to talk about horses or the area or history or something that would have allowed us to interact as a group. read more

Don't even bother calling Angie the 'wrangler' about boarding. I have called everyday for over a week needing a place for my 2 mares. She does NOT answer the phone nor does she call back, not to mention her voice-mail is full so I can't even leave her a message. If your full, your full. Not even the decency to answer the phone and let someone know they can't take any horses right now. Are they full? Who knows because no one bothers to answer the phone. Oh and don't bother calling the phone number on the website. Its a 'reservations' number who doesn't handle boarding and they will tell you to call Angie, who-oh yeah- does NOT answer the phone. If that's the case then why list that as the only number on the website? I've been in the animal industry for 15 years and the customer service industry for 10 years, the service provided by this place is outstandingly poor, they can't even answer a phone call. read more

Wow, what a wonderful ride my 10 yr old Grandaughter & I had today. Everything was top notch from my first telephone contact with the ranch to schedule the ride to the very moment our ride was complete. All the horses were matched perfectly with each rider, up to date riding helmets were available & fit great. Even a child size saddle that fit my Grandaughter perfect. If you don't want a helmet that is okay as long as you sign a waiver. The trails were fabulous & the ranch & horses are maticulously groomed & cared for. ALL staff were super friendly & helpful. Our trail boss was the best, she was so knowledgeable & made all of us feel welcome & appreciated. I highly recommend Bridle Path stables as a great location to go for a trail ride if & when you are in the CD'A area. I have been on quite a few trail rides in my life, however my boyfriend and his two boys have never been on a horse! (Ages 36, 15, and 8). We were vacationing in Idaho to experience Silverwood Theme Park and we all agreed that I got to choose something else to do with the one free day we had left! I found this company through trip advisor and scheduled our ride the day before. My boys were VERY nervous and NOT THRILLED to be climbing on top of a "massive animal." The videos of them all mounting, white faced and white knuckled on the reigns was priceless! The guide tied a lead rope to our 8 year old and told him to just ask when he felt confident to do it on his own. Less than 10min into the ride, he was ready to steer the beast on his own! We were all smiles for the next hour and a half. The scenery was beautiful and the terrain is PERFECT for first time riders. Our 8 year old didn't even want to get off when we returned to the barn. The staff let the boys lead the horses to be tied up, helped us saddle them and brush them too. It was Amazon experience for my boyfriend and the boys. Probably more memorable than two days at Silverwood. read more

I have ridden on many trails in many places from Jasper, Canada to Maui, Hawaii to the beaches of Mexico, but this was by far the best trail ride I have ever been on. From the moment I was picked up at my hotel, I felt very welcome and comfortable, and from then on, it only got better! The ranch was so beautiful and clean--the grounds were very well maintained. Angie, the owner of Bridle Path, and her coworker, Megan, were both so sweet and accommodating--wonderful people to be around. I felt very safe riding the horses, and I barely had to lift a finger because they knew exactly what to do, where to turn, how fast to go, etc. Of course, the grounds we rode on were stunning. We rode through trees, meadows, streams, you name it. Overall, a wonderful experience. And the great part about it? The ranch and the people at Bridle Path are excellent! We went on a super nice trail ride on our way through town. The ranch is squared away, well maintained, thoughtful and organized. Horses are healthy and well trained. Even beginning riders felt comfortable on these steady obedient horses! It's a great way to spend an hour, exploring the woods on horseback! Our guide is a competitive rider with tons of experience and a love for horses that's contagious. The ranch offers lots of training programs, especially for girls and women.
