We booked pretty last minute for a half-day guided tour of the CDL River. Our guide, Elijah did all…read morethe work for us. Quite an interesting fellow with lots of stories to share. He'll ensure your safety and gives plenty of opportunities for you to take a dive into the river. And if you really want he'll let you paddle as well. We encountered a bull moose, a cow and her calf which was pretty cool. Elijah also brought his German Shepard, Annie along for the ride too. She was the highlight. Such a beautiful, gentle, and intelligent dog.

We spoke to both the horse people and the owner of CDA adventures about getting a "rain check" and rescheduling. Both CDA Adventures and the horse people denied us. They wouldn't reschedule, refund nor partial refund. They gave no solutions, they just took our money. This was the supposed to be the first of many adventures we planned with CDA Adventures. But now we won't have any. Instead we've now removed "the middleman" and will be scheduling with these "adventure" companies directly.

My partner and I walked about 8 miles, feeling completely immersed in the nature. We hadn't even planned to hike, but ended up doing it anyway because of how fun it was. There was a cool man-made structure, amongst other sights. This place is great for photographers. Of course, the magnum opus of the park appears to be the bridge, which allows you to stand over the beautiful blue water. I love that the park offers picnic benches to sit and enjoy the space. My only complaint would be that there should definitely be more trash cans in the populated areas.

The fly fishing I do is rivers, not lakes, so didn't know what I needed or where to start. I talked with a very nice man named Bo. He was super helpful, explained what I needed to bring, the weight of the rod, the sinking weight of the line & the technique for sinking flies in big lakes. I ask for some flies and he mailed me a very nice box filled with wet flies & some sinking leaders. So.... went fishing & OMG!!!! you would not believe the fish we caught using the flies Bo sent us.
