My husband and I did the 2hr float on the Spokane River. There was another couple on the raft with us along with our guide, Jesse. It was such a fun experience. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the river and its history which made the trip more enjoyable. The river and area is beautiful. We even floated by a bull moose laying at the shore in the river. Had a wonderful time on their easy float with my 2 boys. Great way to ease into future rafting experiences. Even though my boys have done quite a bit of solo kayaking, my younger one was trying to gauge how intense this would be beforehand. Liz was our guide, and she made it very fun/relaxing for them. There were some gentle rapids which she made the most of given the boys' request. Surprising how maneuverable a big raft can be. They took safety seriously - made sure the PFDs were on snug. Equipment seemed in good shape. Guides were friendly and alert. Another family in the excursion was about 20min late and altogether, the trip lasted about 3.25 hrs (10a-1:15p). Not a complaint, just awareness for those planning multiple outings to leave some buffer time. They also had a cooler with water and bubbly drinks, a dry bag for smaller items, and you can leave a bag with larger items in their return van. We saw a bunch of ducks/ducklings (Mergansers), a bald eagle, a moose, bridges, and a lot homeless tents. They had a couple spots where you could float in the water too - felt too cold to me but some kiddos/adults jumped in. In case anyone is wondering, you don't really get wet on this ride (unless you want to). The only uncomfortable part was riding in that big caravan at the end - we were squished tight. This is amazing!!! A must-do in Spokane! Especially for beginners!! Don't be afraid if it's your first time because it was for us and the guide was so comforting and informative! As long as you follow instructions, you will not fall out. It's a raft adventure! You meet at the meet-up location along with other people who have booked the trip. The staff was so friendly and informative, giving us safety instructions and tips and tricks. You are given a life jacket and paddle. You sit on a spacious raft with a guide to instruct you. Depending on the current, it's about a 1 1/2 to 2 hour journey. You can bring an item with you and ask your guide to stash it in their bag or you can leave it on the shuttle/bus that picks you up at the end of the 12 mile journey. I recommend not bringing anything with you except your phone if it's in a water proof pouch because there are some parts of the river that are so smooth that you can take a few videos and pictures. The guides bring a cooler with them full of water, beer, and fruity margarita drinks that they pass out in the middle of the trip after you've passed through the two rapids. Children seem to be welcome because the other two rafts had them! Call ahead and ask. At the end of the river, you park your raft and take a bus or shuttle van back to your car. There's an outhouse bathroom AT THE END of your trip. It's an amazing adventure and I highly recommend!! Check out their website for prices. Went white water rafting on July 8th! Had an amazing time in the Clark Fork Montana. Our guide took great care of us and made sure we had a blast. Lunch was great and they are always ensuring everyone is entertained. We did more activities than just river rafting. We cliff jumped, swam in a rapid, made a water slide, and swam down a river. Worth every penny, definitely recommend!! Go earlier in the season if you would like bigger rapids. This river usually only gets class 2-4 rapids. read more

We went down the Clark Fork River in Montana and had so much fun with the guides in the excursion. They are very professional yet pleasant and enjoyable tour guides that take you on a fantastic adventure on the Spokane River. I had family that came from Colombia and I am very glad I picked this company because even though they only spoke Spanish we still had many laughs and enjoyable rafting trip with our guide. The price for the gentle rapids was cheaper than other companies that I looked at in Spokane. They provide you with beer, gatorade, and water throughout the trip which was a great surprise because it did not mention it in the description that it would be provided on the trip. Family of fours first rafting trip. Kids are 6 and 10, we had a blast! This really is a scenic float, not white water rafting, but that is exactly what we wanted. There were enough rapids to keep the kids excited, but none were wild enough to make me (mom) worried about the kids safety. Our guide was awesome, and happily chatted and jokes with the kids. Our son dangled his head overboard looking for fish. Our daughter jumped in and had a quick swim at a guide approved spot. For families with kids, I would strongly recommend this option. My brother and I discovered these guys purely by accident taking a morning stroll in the Peaceful Valley on Memorial Day Weekend a few years back. Now, it's a family holiday tradition. Three years in a row. Very fun and personable guides (3 years, 3 different guides and each time a blast), but also, know what the heck they are doing. We just went a few days ago and there was an overturned raft from a self-guided crew that had been down the river ~10 times recently. Didn't look like fun. The group was shaken up enough that Josh (Owner of biz) navigated them the rest of the way in the safety boat. See, that's the kind of outfit these guys are. I'm surprised that nobody has written a review on this company before, since they've been in business for awhile. When doing research on whitewater rafting companies on the Clark Fork River, there were a lot of options and not a lot of online reviews, much to my consternation. Based on the the fact that the meeting place was slightly closer to where we were camping than the other companies, Wiley E. Waters got my business for 4 adults, 3 young teens, and 1 child for a full day of rafting. Kyle the owner was pleasant to work with on the phone. Our guides were 3 easygoing young men with a lot of personality. After a floatation jacket fitting (making sure they are snug enough) and some brief instructions, we were on the river. Very casual atmosphere, with time to take in the scenery or swim around the boat when the river was calm, or a bit of paddling when hitting the rapids. After a stop off at a beach for lunch (pretty good sub sandwiches, salads, beans, fruit, cookies - more than enough for everyone), we finished the rest of the trip with a few level 4 rapids and a stop off at a nice creek for a swim. Really impressed with how conscious the guides were with making sure everyone (especially the younger kids) were having fun but always with an eye out for safety. The guides seemed to be having as much fun as we were, which added to the upbeat atmosphere. Everyone in our group very much enjoyed our time with Wiley E. Waters, and would use them again. If you are looking for something a bit more upscale (not sure what that would be), then they may not be for you. But for us it was a perfect fit. read more

Bought a groupon so wasn't sure what to expect. This trip was for myself and my twin 11 year olds. We were staying in Spokane and made the 2.5 hour trip to Montanna. Directions and time to get there were perfect. The rafting was great. Our guides were very friendly and seemed very competent. Our guide was Brock and he was a lot of fun and was very sure that we were all feeling taken care of and having fun. Lunch was also better than expected.
