It get busy in here just like you'd expect good breakfast place should be, the line moves very fast tho I have never had to wait longer than 10 minutes in fact usually is under 5. I have tried about half the menu at this point both lunch and breakfast and I have liked everything Thai far. Their Greek chicken plate is great, their burger is very good, their western omelette is tasty their pancakes and waffles are great! Eggs always made to the point I want. We go to Sunrise to eat breakfast fairly often. Hearty diner food at a good price. We just happened to end up here at lunch time. I asked if the spanakopita was available because I understand it sells out fast when they have it. I was lucky but never expected my meal to be so large. Everything was delicious! My partner enjoyed his cheeseburger very much also. Our server was very helpful. Unfortunately I don't remember her name. Prices were great, especially for the amount of food we had. The food was decent, but the HVAC vents were extremely dirty, which disgusted my wife so much that it affected her enjoyment of the food.

Always good food but on the weekends you can be sure of a line waiting to get in. It's worth it if you want to wait.

I ordered the chicken Alfredo for lunch. The server was really nice, but it was obvious that this was a white person's kitchen. There was no seasoning on my food. It literally tasted like nothing. I ate it because I was starving, but I didn't finish it. I put the rest in a box to take home and later added my mom's homegrown Italian seasoning, along with garlic and onion powder. It tasted a lot better after that. This isn't the first dish I've had from this restaurant that was completely bland. They must not have any seasonings in their kitchen. I also ordered a salad, and the dressing came in a packet, not what I expected. I definitely wouldn't recommend dining in. When the dish was brought to the table, it had no salt or pepper. We have been here about 2 times already. Every time we come, we usually have a big party with us and they won't seat you until the whole party has arrived. They did have a table waiting, though, so as soon as the whole party arrived, they sat us down immediately. Unfortunately, it took our waitress 15 minutes to even come get our drink order. By that point, we were already ready to order to we put in drink and food order. It took about 40 minutes for our breakfast to come out. I opted for a steak omletter with hashbrowns. It was not the best. The omlette was super dry and just had no flavor, even from the steak. The hashbrowns were delicious, though. Had just the right amount of crisp to them. They did come around with plenty of refills for coffee and water. It's a friendly family vibe. Food could be better. They have a big parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. Well , my wife and I eat here or did once or twice a week because it's cheap and convenient. Today I ordered ham , green beans and yams . Once I get almost to the end of the green beans I find a sweetener wrapper at the bottom of the bowl . I brought it to the waitress attention who was smart about it and she got the manager. When he arrived I told him I didn't want anything for free that I was just bringing it to his attention. His response was it must have came from the dining room basically accusing me of putting it there . I had water and my wife had water . Neither of us use any sweeteners at all ever . And he just walked away . So ridiculous and piss poor customer service. There's only one of two ways well maybe 3 if it fell from heaven that it got there . They used dirty dish or they are reusing food that has been served and that is disgusting , make your own decision but I can tell you this the mgr gives no Fs . Good luck read more

I wanted to give this place negative stars for the way I was treated by MICHELLE, who was on the phone taking to go orders. While I was placing my order on the phone, whole time she was rushing me. After every food item, MICHELLE said "is that it" very short and frank. I asked if I had to get the eggs for my country ham and French toast combo and she nastily said " It wouldn't be a combo without it"! I said ok, I'll have my eggs fried hard. The expectation was for her to offer something in place of the eggs ( which I don't eat) or say that I don't have to have them. Either one would have sufficed. After I said my last food item, "is that it" was asked again, I replied yes, she said 15-20 minutes then hung up the phone. MICHELLE didn't tell me my total amount or have the proper etiquette to end the phone call. I arrived, paid for my food, gave my daughter the food then asked to speak to a manager. The manager Jorge was present and I started to tell him what happened. MICHELLE immediately cut me off and began to tell him her version of the events. She raised her voice at me and the manager JORGE acted like he was afraid of her. She continually cut me off from describing what happens then till me to have a great day. Again, very dismissive and rude. I told MICHELLE to have a blessed day and walked out. This is a clear example of a person working in customer service and not liking their job. Everything in me feels that if I was a different race, she would've been more respectful. I pray that the owners watch the camera, if they have one, and see the way she behaves. I then proceeded to go in to the main part of the restaurant and ask for a manager. I met JOHN and told him what transpired, he immediately looked remorseful and apologized for my service. Honestly, if MICHELLE would've been apologetic, she would've immediately been forgiven. MICHELLE'S attitude and customer service skills are deplorable. I hope she gets herself together. Great job Michelle on showing my daughter how not to behave as an adult. Food was mediocre, it probably would've tasted better if MICHELLE didn't ruin the experience for is. The new place is all shiny and clean, well-staffed with a big Greek menu for Charlotte's appetite. My visit could not have gone better, but I can see why some have dissed them on slow service, improperly cooked eggs, etc. (my Yelp buddies included). I ordered fried bologna, sunny side up eggs, home fries, biscuit and decaf coffee. While I admit it took a while for my breakfast to arrive, my cup was kept fresh and hot. The eggs were cooked perfectly, too. Both the home fries and bologna were just OK. For satisfying my craving for a hot breakfast, however, they nailed it. So why not 5 stars instead of 4? We had eaten at this stop a few times before and enjoyed it but today was very different. My first comment is the cleanliness .NOT! The whole restaurant seemed unkempt. The person cleaning off tables put the dish container on the floor and then back on the table. Wiping their hands on their jeans . The food immediately took on a different taste. I felt nauseated about how dirty the place was today. everything seemed unclean. If I were a health inspector I would have closed them down. Their employees with stringy hair and dirty clothes and smelled like cigarette smoke. Even the parking lot today smelled like cigarette. smoke. They have some real explaining to do. I go here every Sunday and pick up dinner for me and my mom. The food is good and decently priced for what you get. I always get the beef and chicken with rice dinner. I don't know what they marinade the meat in, but it's very juicy and tender. I bought onion rings the other night and they were cooked to perfection! Only down side is the parking and one entrance in and out. They should consider buying the lot behind the parking lot and making a back entrance. Trying to turn in off the Main Street or pullout is getting dangerous. read more

Customer service was pretty disappointing. I visited the restaurant for breakfast and had to ask the waitress 3 times for a side item she had forgotten to bring with the rest of the food. Fifteen minutes after receiving my food, the side item came out, which was not satisfactory. I really preferred to eat my side item with my main entree. I explained my discontentment to the waitress. Without an apology or explanation, she grabbed my plate. I stopped her, explained I plan to eat it, then requested to speak with the manager. I explained to him the situation and he grabbed the plate and said he will take it off my bill or I can eat it and pay for it. Again no acknowledgement or apology for the poor service. Sunrise is officially back. I am so happy to see them open again to serve the community around the area. If you been to the old location you know what to expect. It has about the same menu as the old location, however the price has increased about a dollar for each items. They are busy the week that I went, it was a Wednesday. The service is only ok, they have table open but not enough servers, since they just opened they are working things out. I had the chicken and dumplings, it tasted just like the old times, it has flavor just simple and tasted good. The new addition to the menu will be the cold side items, they now have dessert like side dishes and it has my favorite banana pudding. Lastly, the environment, it is a great new building, all the furniture are new. It is nice, but I have noticed there are a lot of debris on the floor. I hope that they can keep the environment clean and maintain this place a long time. Environment: 7 out of 10 Services: 6 out of 10 Food Quality: 8 out of 10 So happy that SUNRISE is back. read more

Great food for a great price! I came here since I was in the mood for breakfast and had never been to Sunrise diner but always wanted to come. Upon walking in, I was immediately seated and provided with a menu to order. I ended up ordering the "Fish and Grits with a biscuit" and some "Hot Chocolate" since it was cold and rainy out that day. The breakfast itself was very basic nothing special but at the same time also very good! They didn't have whiting fish which is what I mostly order from other places however, they had the Flounder which was equally as good. There was definitely no complaints about the breakfast. As far as the waitress, she was "so-so"; she didn't really seem like she wanted to be there and could've been a little more attentive however it's also possible she was having a bad day. Overall, I really liked the food and the atmosphere- I would come back. read more

Worst breakfast I have ever eaten. Do not get breakfast in the morning unless you want cold dry turkey sausage and mealy dry nasty grits that are cooked up in bulk and served after they have sat a long while. The owner on duty was rude, uncaring and brought out even more dry leathery sausage when I asked for fresh sausage that was just thrown back on to make it warmer( same old cooked ahead leathery sausage) I was only able to eat the eggs and my husband ate the toast. However I was Charged for grits I could not swallow and first double charged for all 3 along with my husband's meal until I noticed I was overcharged!! . When I was asked if things were good and I said no, he never apologized or even acted like he cared at all. All about the buck!! Even the regular sausage and my husband's bacon were like leather!! If you want fresh breakfast come later in the day when they can cook it fresh to order. So disappointed and he doesn't realize he's losing more money by not handling this well in the lack of future orders than he ever gained in charging me for what I couldn't eat!! No problem!!
