The roof that was replaced was two layers, and when it was replaced with one layer, that left an inch or so gap between the shingles and and chimney, which they failed to seal and also failed to install proper flashing so that water would drain away from the chimney. Ace repaired the issue and their price was very reasonable. Recently, I noticed paint cracking and dampness in a ceiling. I called the company that installed the roof-as it is nearing the end of the warranty. They sent someone who said he saw nothing wrong, and claimed they might need better ventilation. He said someone would call. No one did. I called Ace, he went up and saw the source of the problem, a bullet hole-likely there from someone's errant New Year's celebration. He fixed the issue within 15 minutes. Ace is responsive, and most important, he acts with integrity and his assessments are credible. Irrespective of 'warranties,' I trust him and will always call him first.

He went with Newman. Subsequently we had a hail storm and neighbors were advising us to get our roof checked out. Our roof was 20 years old. I wanted to be honest with the insurance company and not submit a claim unless Tyler from Newman,who came out to give us an estimate, was sure we needed a new roof and we suffered damage beyond normal wear and tear. Plus we had 2 houses. Well one needed a new roof and the other one likely has another couple of years left. As an aside, if you turn in a claim to your insurance company, even if it is denied, you risk higher premiums or cancelation. That is why it is important to have Newman Roofing spend time assessing. In our case, our roof was more wear and tear with minimal hail. Dan and his guys were on time, even early. Weather has consistently been in the mid 90's. I was worried. But Newman keeps them well supplied with hydration. 14 man crew meant lots of vehicles, even a dump truck but they were minimally disruptive to our neighbors. Furniture moved, netting put up to minimize construction mess on house and garden areas. And then they went to work. All I can say is WOW. I am so pleased. When they were finished, the cleaned up all the mess, including using a magnetized thing for nails in driveway, patio and grass. The yard, the patio, the driveway, the porches are SPOTLESS. The next step was when they called back to tell us when we would see the crew arrive. Terry was very nice and got us a date when we would not have kids in the house. We got the yard cleaned up so everything was out of the way and would not get damaged by the debris. And there was LOTS of it. But when they left you could not tell there was debris everywhere. Based on that prior relationship, I engaged them again in 2026 for a major, insurance-funded structural repair after a 40-foot pine tree struck the corner of my house. While I paid my contracted estimate in full, a subsequent physical audit of the completed project revealed differences between the billed scope and the executed work. I strongly advise anyone hiring them to physically verify all completed items. -Equipment Billing: The final invoice included a $550.00 charge for a 20-yard dumpster that was not delivered to or utilized at my property. -Labor and Structural Scope: The billing included a $7,002.55 custom quote to tear down and rebuild internal framing, plus an additional $2,371.68 for framing labor. Despite paying the original estimate in full for this exact scope of work, an internal physical audit revealed the primary structural replacement was not executed. Furthermore, the minor patching that was performed was attached incorrectly, causing the new lumber to split. Communication Timeline: On July 1, I spoke with the Project Manager regarding visible exterior alignment issues and missing materials. As seen in the attached screenshot, he promised a response from his management team by the next day. A response was not provided. Prompted by this lack of follow-up, I audited the interior on July 4 and discovered the unperformed structural work. On July 6, I emailed Able Roofing's executive management team with photographic evidence, formally requesting a correction or a refund. I provided the refund option because if Able refuses to perform the work they were contracted for, completing the original scope now requires hiring another contractor to tear off the re-shingled sections--including the decking, soffit, and gutters--just to access and rebuild the internal framing. As of today, 11 days have passed since I last heard from anyone at Able Roofing. It appears Able Roofing is not used to customers auditing their work. Do not assume the work you or your insurance company paid for was completed as written. Get in your attic, verify the work, and scrutinize every single line item on your final invoice.

Communication throughout this process has been poor. Despite raising these issues, it has now been over a month and the problems with the windows still have not been properly resolved. We also used this company for siding, and that portion of the project went much better, which makes this experience even more frustrating due to the inconsistency in quality.
