John came out to the property the same day, got up on the roof and even took the time to take photos and video to show where the problems were as well as the time to explain how they could damage my house even more if it continued to rain. He even took the time to tarp it up for me in the rain!!!!! Free of charge. He gave me the quote and I couldn't believe it! It was almost half of what everybody else wanted to charge me. We shook hands, sealed the deal and he was back early the next day in 90 degree weather helping his team with the heavy and dirty work. They restored my entire roof in just one day! He dropped off materials in advance so workers were ready to proceed upon arrival; he stopped in to check on the work at each stage to make sure quality work was performed and also was to my satisfaction. Communication was excellent, I always knew when to expect what to happen. I said my main goal was to have the room look brand new as though nothing had happened and that is exactly what they did. Ascent Roofing did multiple repairs to fix the damage as well as coordinated with the insurance companies to get the repairs covered 100%. Through their detailed inspection process, they also made us aware that we did not have any insulation over half of the restaurant. They blew in 20" of Owens Corning Attic Cat insulation which has saved my restaurant 30% or more on our heating and cooling bills. Their whole team from the owner Brent who came out for the estimate to their laborers were on-time, courteous and professional. They even worked around our schedule so it didn't disrupt our business and did the install on a Saturday morning at 5am. I liked that Ascent was local. Being a Navy brat, I appreciate the company is owned/operated by vets. Bill answered all my questions and got my project scheduled quickly. The crew arrived at 6:30 AM and was done by just after 12:30PM. They were very careful to tarp above my landscaping to protect it. They worked quickly and efficiently. Afterwards, they were meticulous with clean up, going over not once but twice with the magnets to find practically every nail in my grass and landscaping. They missed very few. The sales manager walked me through every line item; removal, new vents and gaskets, plywood, waterproof underlayment, insulation, ventilation, chimney flashing, etc. Our roof was measured 3 times by three different men on different days; the salesman, the job manager, and the crew leader. They have managers on site daily, along with team leaders. They followed the entire process with drone pictures and provided these for me to send to my homeowners insurance. Their pricing is honest and without surprises. The job, which is a filthy, messy, and dangerous undertaking, was performed with great skill. The crew arrived promptly at 0730 each morning and were working by 0800, cleaned debris daily with attention to detail. They used massive tarps to protect landscaping and plywood over the air conditioner. They blew debris from my roof and gutters daily, power washed and reapplied gutter guards, resecured solar panels for cameras, installed and wired 2 attic ventilation fans. Every piece of metal, which was created on site, was custom cut to our Mansard roof. I saw certificates and licenses for multiple trades. The workmanship is superb. Every member of the Gator Roofing team, from the offices to the crew members were professional, knowledgeable, top-quality people. I give Gator Roofing an A-ONE in customer service and craftsmanship and recommend them highly. I had 7 roofing estimates before I started. Drew, the owner, came out, looked at our roof, brought down one of the tiles that had slipped off to show us the problem, and done a patch on the place that was leaking to help mitigate the problem until we could get the roof fixed. The quote came in on par with the other businesses we called, but Drew's attention to detail and his care while he was here giving us our quote was what helped make up our mind. Drew took care of all of the permit issues and preparation that we needed. The day of the work everyone showed up on time, the folks he worked with were really nice, respectful of our property, and generally just OK folks to have around for the day. In the process of putting on the new roof, we found out that the supporting wood beneath the shingles was old and too thin to support the new shingles in the long term. This was an issue Drew couldn't have known without taking the old roof off, he provided us with a couple of different fixes, including the most expensive being replacing all the supporting wood. We ended up choosing to replace all the supporting wood because it made the most sense in the long term, Drew was really great and gave us a discount on some of the wood because it was something that came up out of the blue. If you have a house that's over 20 years old it is bound to have unexpected things come up when you do any kind of work, and we had planned for that, because our house was built in 1963. Even though the scope of the work became more Intensive, Drew and his team were fantastic. The change in scope only resulted in an extra three hours of work meaning instead of finishing the same day they finished the next day, at around noon. Drew came by to inspect the work, took pictures via a drone so we could see what everything looked like on the roof. And his team made sure that our property was cleaned up and looked like nobody had just come in completely taken a roof off and put a new one on. I would 100% recommend Best Exteriors to anybody needing service like a new roof, the owner and staff were delightful, and we received great service and a great product from them.
