We noticed some water damage on the wood trim work around our chimney. We had three contractors give us quotes. All three pointed out the cause of the problem, but George at Gkg roofing was by far the most thorough in his evaluation of the damage. Even though his quote for repairs wasn't the cheapest, I felt comfortable (not happy) that the extensive repairs he suggested were necessary. I am glad we went with a Gkg. Once the crew got into the job , it was obvious that George was right. Most of the wood sheathing and a good bit of the framing around the chimney was completely rotten and had to be replaced. The repair work is excellent, and the crew paid close attention to detail. The chimney looks better than it ever did. The trim work is neat with tight joints and it was all properly caulked and painted. The flashing around the chimney was modified to prevent any recurrence of the original problem. It looks much neater now too. Gkg Roofing not only does good work, they also have excellent customer service. George answered, or promptly returned all of my calls, and the crews showed up on the days they said they would. Lonnie went over and above the call of duty by removing one of my light fixtures when he noticed several wasps nests. He removed the nests and caulked the fixture to prevent re-entry. We had an insurance claim so we knew from the beginning that we needed a full roof replacement. George was flexible and came to our house after hours to meet. At the first meeting, he had already had drone measurements taken of our roof and came prepared with a full quote knowing exactly what it would cost for us to replace our entire roof. I called George at GKG Roofing in the middle of the afternoon today about a leak around a roof vent. I called from work and explained that I wouldn't be home for another few hours. Well, George arrived at my house moments before I got there. He explained why the type of vent used wasn't ideal, but he went ahead and sealed the vent and refused payment.
