Food was good. I got chicken box and cheese fish on bun. They need a better system in place with the amount of customers they have. It's ALWAYS very crowded and although I appreciate they make your food fresh, it takes forever! The staff was friendly but I did overhear the guy at the cash register get smart with another customer who was questioning their price increase. I am not sure I will return anytime soon with the amount of crowd they have. read more

Great food and friendly service. The restaurant is clean. The chicken was fried to perfection... And I will be returning for more.. read more

This was the best place in college and still is. Everytime I'm in the area I go here! Cheesesteaks are life!!

Finally checked out the new location. Still great. There's seating to eat on sight if you care to but I always go for carry out.

I grew up in MD and moved to NC when I was 12. At some point( Sunny's closed and opened back while I was gone, and this past summer, I went back home and went to Sunny's 3 times. Same great taste, but on top of that, my last time going before I went back to NC, I made it there after closing time. The man at the front told us they were closed but after we told him I was leaving for NC the next day, he hooked us up. That's as real as someone can get ! read more

It's cool for the quick carry9out chicken box. Nothing special for ambiance but definitely cool for a quick lunch.

I'm always going to order my chicken boxes from here. 10 years strong! When they were an older location I was there in that long line. The line goes faster now and I gladly take my food home. The service is ok, they are just doing their job but I'll return each time. read more

I wouldn't recommend the beef sausage because it's very thin and the other downside is you can't call in an order but the wait time isn't that bad but overall the food is pretty good! read more

This is a major go to if you in northeast Baltimore I love there honey wings western fries also one of Baltimore best chicken boxes I stand on it read more

If you're looking for wings and fries---this is it!!!! Have been going here since I was a teen, and it has not let me down!

Sunny's always is my favorite if i want a good sub or chicken with that Sunny's sauce

I've been eating at chicken spots for years and Sunny's subs is the best place in Baltimore. I will say their pancakes are ass, I bought some a couple minutes ago thinking they were like the hotcakes from McDonald's, nope. It's a good food spot and they have great and fast service. Just don't get any breakfast from there. read more

Love the food and the service is great just wish that I could have called my order in.

Chicken wings are always on point. I like to get them fried extra hard. When they first opened back up I couldn't wait to get back there. The line was long but well worth the wait. I've been back several times and they never disappoint. read more

Had an amazing experience food was great for the price and had variety of food highly recommended:)

Still the best chicken box in Baltimore, and run by the sweetest family. Their new spot in the redone Northwood Commons is bright and clean. Always get the box with Sunny's Sauce. read more

Wings were not good. Smells like old Sunny's but the taste & texture was not good! No call in orders & chaotic ordering procedure. I won't be returning. read more

The Food is Great ! Been going there since College . The Fish is great along with the Chicken box!! make sure you try their dessert too !

thank you Sunny's for being you and never changing. Chicken boxes, fried fish and you even supply mumbo sauce even though you are definitely in the wrong city for this. I am putting Sunny's in the same vein as I did Greek Village. These establishments do what they do and they do it well with no frills. This location is run down I cant even tell you in the other businesses in that plaza are open...well the liquor store is but thats about it. Don't come here thinking you will get white glove service but what you will get is delicious ass wings and wedges with salt pepper ketchup with a short waiting time. all the regular offerings of your traditional carry out spots can be found here and everything always tasted good. so like i said before don't act brand new and start ordering things like spaghetti yea yea i know its on the menu but do you go to a french restaurant and order greek food even its its on the menu? no because thats not what that place does well. So excercise the same discernment. Order what you know they do well and go home with a half and half and be blessed baltimore style read more

If you're around the Baltimore area, you'll like this place. Some delivery apps like Doordash doesn't reach here, it's a bit limited in its menu (e.g. no fried shrimp), the sides aren't that good (the fries are really good), but the chicken is really good, and it's all-round pretty affordable. You can get a 6pc wing w/fries and a drink for less than $15, which is good. I'd recommend going here and I do go here often if I want a chicken box. read more

Sunny's is a Baltimore institution, but i haven't been since chicken boxes are well chicken boxes. Decided to check them out, its located in a rundown plaza that needs some help, the place itself is equally as run down and needs a clean up or a spruce up. The parking lot itself has potholes lol. The place was busy and service was swift, and prompt. If you can overlook these things and the general uncleanliness of the place the fried chicken is damn good, so good i was kicking my stars as to why i didn't order more fried chicken. I will definitely be back to check out their honey wings. I will call in my order next time lol. read more

GREAT WINGS! french fries weren't seasoned well which is why 4 stars but still great wings and fries still had good texture

Best wings and bestest hot sauce! Sunny's is a neighborhood treasure! Get your Baltimore chicken box here with iconic western fries. Add a half and half for that real good good! Plus they support the community and have been for years! read more

Food is just like it use to be. Hot and fresh. Service is always nice and fast as usual. It is just as clean as before.

Always a hit, never a miss. Best spot in Baltimore to get a decent chicken box and a half n half

Food is amazing highly recommend 10 out of 10 and it stays hot for a long period of time

I had not eaten from here in some time. Let me tell you yesterday did not disappoint. The chicken cheese steak was delicious. I didn't care to much for the onion rings. The collard greens were nice and tender but, not seasoned. I didn't even care about anything else because the sub just did it for me. I can't wait to get back to get another sub. read more

Doesn't live up to the hype. Wings are flavorful but to soft and undercooked. Subs are super small for the price.

Let me LEARNED you people on just how fresh this place is. Every morning, the owner Steve goes to various locations to buy big and fresh chicken, fish and other goods then gets to the store and prepares them. At almost every other chicken box place or Chinese carry out in Baltimore, they'll have the meat imported from either a different state or country. Whatever day you come and get their food, there's a 99% chance the food was made the same day. This place is busy throughout the whole day meaning the food is always fresh(er). When I used to listen to 92.3 (92Q is a rap/hip hop radio station in Baltimore), I would hear the host/hostess/DJ give shout outs to Sunny's Subs for having their favorite fried chicken boxes. IN MY OPINION: They have the best Fried Chicken (quarters, legs, thighs and wings) with the best Sunny's Sauce (version of Mumbo sauce but better). They also have the best Fried Catfish, Wedges and Half N Half and since this place is located in the city, the prices are unbeatable. Well, at least compared to Howard, Arundel and Montgomery Counties. But because of its location, it's really out of the way so I rarely go here. Here's a brief rundown of each food I've had here and how marvelous they are. Fried Chicken: The seasoning isn't IN YO FACE, but it's perfect. Never too salty, just right. Every time you bite into this succulent piece of meat, the hot and flavorful juice bursts all over your mouth (no pun intended) and you immediately become addicted. I sometimes wonder if they put nicotine (just kidding) in their chicken because that's how fantastic they are. The skin is crispy but not overbearingly crunchy and adds the perfect textural combination to the tender meat. Sunny's Sauce: You've had Mumbo sauce before right? They're at pretty much every single Chinese and Sub carry out in Baltimore, PG and DC. You like the sweet and slightly spicy sauce yeah? Well Sunny's Sauce is even better. I'm not sure what ingredients they put in, but it's not too sweet nor too spicy, has a great kick to it and also a subtle tang to it. A great complement to any fried food you're delightfully tearing down. Fried Catfish: This is pretty much the same as the Fried Chicken, just with 2 differences; it's Catfish and has a different taste (duh). Nonetheless, it's amazing and you need to try it! Wedges: This is a hit or miss for me. I guess it depends on what time you go there and how many people have ordered Wedges before you because sometimes they'd be perfectly cooked (slightly crunchy outside, moist and tender inside) and other times they've been sunbathing a bit too long. Still, for the most part they are good and even better as a side dish! Half N Half: This place still has the best Half N Half I've ever had. It's sweet yet refreshing, slightly tangy yet not overbearing, it's just right. I believe they use real Lemon and real Tea with excessive amounts of sugar. That's most likely why it's that good! I haven't had anything else but the foods I've mentioned above. The service is to be expected; fast, friendly and consistent. read more

Food good but y'all need a number so I can call my order in line way too long

I always come here for lunch. It's right across from the job. I always get the chicken box with french fries. This particular time I ordered the honey wings. OMG!! They were soooooo good! They weren't dry. Very moist chicken. Yummy! Of course a half and half on the side. I'll come back. I've been coming here for years. Oh yeah and don't forget to try their breakfast. That's delicious too and good prices. read more

So, it's a summer night and Friday, since I don't have a date, I decided to try something.... different! So, this place was rated Baltimore's Best Wings I'll start with the positives: the wings are fresh and they pressure cook them. Now, what will make this my one and only visit: the inside is outdated, there was a man a sleep at a table drooling, the chicken is not cooked to order, & they charge for those God forsaken sauces YUCK! read more

Sunny's Subs - 4 piece wings, western fried, sunny sauce - Chicken Wings Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

Surprised to say the least. Sunny's is located in a run down plaza and seems to be one of the only stores open along with a liquor store and barber shop. Definitely not the most appealing place but the food is good. Had 10 wings for take out and the portion was huge. Wings were crispy and juicy as well. Service was extremely friendly. Obviously it's good for what it is, don't expect a sit down - top notch experience. Come for friendly service, cheap but good food and then get the hell out! read more

I just went to Sunny's today. About 6:00pm on a Friday and they were CLOSED I thought I was trippin so I called their number and it was an out of service message. I hadn't heard anything about them closing but they're closed. I hope they're moving locations and this isn't permanent read more

Sunny's Subs - Chicken Wings Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

Sooo...before we go any further...yes I'm taking the time out of my life to write a review on a carry out spot in the hood. Now that-that's over...I'll continue. So the price is just where I like it...cheap and it's fulfilling. I only order Sunny Wings with the Cajun fries and when I want my sugar to skyrocket a half and half as well. Now, I would come into the city just for this. That sauce...is yummy. And no I'm not going to compare it to Mambo Sauce. And if you really must know why...it's because this wings are purposefully drenched in the sauce. You can barely see the wing. Now, go to dc and see that things are done differently. Anywho, every time I've come here it is packed with MSU students...and that's fair because it is in walking distance. So based on my other reviews you're probably guessing that I'm going to talk about the inside of the establishment and you'd be wrong. Come on this place doesn't try to be anything that it's not. It's a carry out. Not a restaurant! It isn't called a restaurant anywhere in the title. So you're good with me Sunnys. Now if we could just get you to move closer to the DMV area like Hip Hop Chicken and Fish then we'd really be best friends. So until next time, when I want to drive pass in the passenger seat and look to the right and see Lake Montabello! read more

One of my go to spots for lunch. Best chicken box place in Bmore. Love their honey syrup they stench on the wings . Just make sure you get everything double fried if you like your wings and wedges crispy. A hidden gem at a broken down Northwood Plaza by Morgan State University. Love this place! read more

Listen, if you're in east Baltimore, a student at Morgan State or a connoisseur of fried chicken, get over to Sunny's. I LOVE their chicken boxes. I have never ordered anything else(I will one day), because I love the chicken so much. It's always busy but they get you in and out pretty fast. read more

Sunny's Subs - 5 wings and fries, #saltpeppaketchup - Chicken Wings Near Me - Baltimore, Maryland

I'm not going to say they have the BEST chicken box in town for this one reason; without the sunny/Mambo sauce I've had better. The chicken is a little too salty for my liking! But their potato wedges!!! BOOM Overall you get an awesome bang for your buck! The staff are usually very friendly. Expect there to be a crowd, always. If you are near Northwood plaza and you're hungry, I recommend you visit Sunny's for a chicken box! P.s there is one that just opened up at Westside shopping center that I've been meaning to try out! read more
