Sunny's was a staple for me in undergrad. Currently as I am older now, it's a once in a while thing. I recently stopped in and ordered a whiting fish platter. I was not impressed with the customer service rushing me to make a selection and was rude when I had questions about the menu as the tv screens were not working at the counter top where your order. It was replaced with poster board and writing. The lobby area was being cleaned when I came in the restaurant. Unfortunately this visit was a waste of 16 bucks. I made the error or ordering potato salad which I thought would be good however it was horrible. It tasted like home-fries with mayonnaise on it. The green beans seemed old and did not taste good at all. The half and half was way too sweet and the machines were not working. My rating was 2 stars as the fish was just ok. Visited Sunny's today and ordered 2pc whiting and crab sticks. Unfortunately, the fish did not look or taste like it usually does. It tasted old and the serving was incredibly smaller than usual. I've eaten here plenty of times and have ordered the whiting and lake trout and have never seen a serving like today's. I was gaslit into believing that today's portion was typical. I am very disappointed with my visit today and will sadly not spend another dollar here. I will write a review every time I come here because the food is just too good! Service is always fast, food comes out hot and fresh and it's usually not too busy in there. I always order 3 wings dipped in honey and get the home fries. It tastes so good every time that I never try anything different. This is my go to "chicken box" spot! The wings are always a good size, juicy and the flavor consistent. You pick how many wings 4, 5 etc. and the boxes always come with fries. You can do regular or western fries. To me western fries are the only way to go and I get an extra sunny sauce just for them. This place is non-stop busy. I am truly impressed by the speed of the employees. The funny thing is the customers order in an organized fashion as well. People place their orders and wait patiently for the delicious food. The tables are clean and people actually pick up after themselves. This was my first time going to Sunny's since the renovations. The place looked great and very clean. There was a line, but it moved pretty fast. I went to Sunny's Sub carryout yesterday and had a really disappointing experience. The usual lady who's normally behind the counter wasn't there, and a man was handling both registers. He accidentally forgot to give me my order ticket. When I went back to let him know, instead of fixing the issue, he was visibly irritated and dismissive--insisting he had given it to me, even though he clearly hadn't. I tried asking the guys who prepare the food, explaining that my friend had order #26 and I ordered right after her, so I was likely #27. They just laughed it off like it was a joke. I went back to the cashier again, and he continued being rude, dismissive, and basically shooed me away like I was bothering him. At that point, I asked for a refund. Only then did he say, "Just tell them what you had," but I had lost all interest by then. I told him I wanted a refund, and though he eventually gave it to me, he did so with a lot of unnecessary attitude and passive-aggressive remarks. I've never had such poor service here before. I will not be returning. If you're someone who values basic respect--especially as a person of color--I would strongly recommend you support another business that treats its customers better. read more

Where do I start??? A few weeks ago, I stopped by Sunny's after their long awaited opening in the new and improved Northwood shopping center. The lines were at the door, and folks were there from near and far. One customer in line came all the way from Owings Mills after hearing that they had opened back up. Although crowded, everyone was getting along and chatting with one another in line as the lines moved pretty quickly considering the amount of people in there.
