Called for servicing our HVAC They were easy to work with…read moreand did a good job for a reasonable price

Game changer customer service…read more If you live anywhere in the #CoachellaValley and need any type of #HVAC or #AirConditioning service, inspection or equipment replacement, my husband and I confidently recommend you contact #ThomsonAC, (562) 837-0669 I promise, they did not pay me to write this, and I rarely submit reviews. We have been so blown away (no HVAC pun intended) I felt compelled to write a review in hopes of sending more business their way. My review is lengthy, so if you want save yourself time, money and frustration trying to figure out who to use, just call #ThomsonAC now for a quote (or a second opinion): (760) 718-3111 For more than 20 years we have used another reliable and well-known company in the Coachella Valley for purchasing & installing new equipment & bi-annual maintenance at our condo in #PalmDesert. When we recently had to replace (2) HVAC units on a new property in Indio, we were SHOCKED (and depressed) at the quote that came back ($30K!) and they had no interest in negotiating the price. Thankfully, we got a reliable referral from a local real estate agent who uses Thomson for all of his inspections, repairs & replacements, "Just call Ethan at Thomson. I am certain he can do better." He was right. Without hesitation I say the same thing. Not only did they come out within 24 hours to complete a thorough inspection of the units outside and system inside the attic, without having to ask for comparative pricing Ethan gave us 3 quotes (good/better/best) and informed us of the current rebates being offered in our zipcode from IID and the manufacturers, plus Fed tax credit info. Ethan was incredibly knowledgeable about all the systems and took the time to share his recommendations (based on facts, product output and best efficiency for our property, not just the price) and answer all of our questions before leaving the property. He was friendly, informative, professional and truly interested in helping us (vs. the can't be bothered attitude of the other company). Ethan worked up the quotes himself and emailed them the same day. The quotes included a detailed financial breakout of rebates & tax credits for each model option which helped make our decision easy. After calculating rebates, we were able to select two Bosch top of the line/best efficiency units for less than what the "middle/better" option would have been, and add install of a new water heater as well. The entire cost with Thomson was almost HALF of what 'the other company' quoted us for "middle/better". No brainer decision. When the team came to install they were on time, efficient, knew what they were doing, professional and careful precautions taken inside the house to avoid wall/ceiling/floor damage while removing old system and installing new. We are now loyal and satisfied customers! #WOW again: When we received the invoice, it included detailed step-by-step instructions & necessary product information & serial numbers for submitting the rebates with IID, saving a lot of time. Game changer customer service. The WOWS continue: Following the initial install, we asked Ethan to help us come up with a creative solution to install thermostat controlled attic fans (no gables in our roof) that connect to the existing exhaust vents and install another thermostat controlled air intake and exhaust fan in our garage. Again, he took the time, and a couple of visits, to create a workable and affordable solution that during high temps has helped reduce our AC use & further lower our electric bill. Thank you Ethan and thank you to the entire Thomson team. Update: The general manager reached out to me to fix the situation as quickly as possible. My unit…read morewas fixed and it is working correctly. He also generously offered to make restitution from the inconveniences I had in events I missed and my discomfort. As soon as I know what the plan of restitution is and it is in place, I will raise this 3 star to a 4 star for standing up and making it right. Let me share my experience with folks so they can know what a gong show it has been in dealing with this company. I was given a quote on a mini split system and the sales guy seemed very knowledgeable and left a good impression. I got 3 quotes from different companies and now am wishing I went with someone else. They have tried to give the best customer service, I will be fair with that, but the overall handling from installation to all the problems I have had within two months leaves a lot to be desired. So many different cogs in the wheel doesn't work. I wish I would have went with a small company. The guys who installed it didn't even know what they were doing. They were trying to connect a 240V by hooking it up as a 120V and using the other as a grounding wire. The day of installation I mentioned that I had to leave by 5pm and as they arrived at 8:30am they assured me they would be done. It was important that I leave and I had very expensive tickets to an event. 5:30 rolls around and he is trying to figure out why the unit is not working despite the obvious aspect that it was a 240V plug. I had to call the sales rep to reel him in, show me respect to my need to leave and have someone come and finish the following day. 2 other people came out over and one senior guy got the thing working. Or so I thought. Not long after it started making noises and didn't seem right so they sent some other guy out who "checked" the system and assured me it was perfectly fine. He took the opportunity to sell me a surge protector which I think was a smart buy anyways. The reality is this new humming was an indicator that everything was NOT alright. They seem to have a lot of inexperienced people on their team and send someone new out every time so the people who come don't have any back history on anything!! Sure enough 3 days ago the unit goes out as the pump that gets rid of condensation in the unit failed. This was the end result of which the humming was an early indicator that could have been caught and nipped in the bud. I called and they were not in a hurry to help me and I had to force the issue by mentioning I was a new customer and they haven't got it right and since this is my only cooling unit, they needed to get it right. Initially they were trying to schedule me for the following day when it is 113 outside. They were in a hurry to take my money when they improperly installed this piece of junk that I have had so many issues in the two months since it has been put in. So a service manager came out yesterday and looked at the unit and told me that the part won't come in until the morning and would 10 or 11am work. The unit kept starting and stopping so they had the courtesy of having yet another team member (think I met about 15 different people so far) drop off a small portable unit that would cool a room size of 250 square feet. Here I am and it is 10:30 and no one has reached out to me to get this repair finished or at least let me know what is going on. They are "checking" to see if the part came despite Colten telling me the part would be in and that he could come mid morning to get it fixed. I had plans to go somewhere but I have been held hostage for 3 days because they don't have any ability to get the job done. Honestly, I wish I would have never picked up the phone to deal with these people and feel it is my duty to inform others. If my issue is not resolved soon I am going to look for a lemon law lawyer and seek a refund if they can't get it fixed properly. Save yourself a lot of hassle and seek out a small company who can take care of you instead of just treating you like a number.
