We recently replaced our air conditioner with Comfort Air. We had gotten an initial bid from another company, but Comfort Air beat their price by $3,200 for installing the exact same unit. They also managed to get us on the schedule to have the system installed the very next day. We were very impressed with their prompt service and good prices. When they arrived to do the install, I informed them that our baby was sleeping in his room. While installing a roof top a/c unit is not quiet, I felt the men made an effort to keep the noise down around his room as much as possible, which we really appreciated. The men were very professional while they were here, and were efficient with the installation. They were also very polite in our interactions. They informed us when they needed to turn off the gas in order to extend the gas line to the new unit, and made sure we were not using the gas before doing so. However, when they were finished and turned the gas back on, our pilot light on our water heater would't light. The men informed us of this as soon as they saw it was not lighting. It's an older unit, so we didn't really think much of it at the time. We called a plumber out the next morning. The day before, the a/c guys had needed to plug in a piece of equipment. The garage was closest, so I had them plug it in in the corner by the water heater. We have a plug there that is never used because we never go over there as it is behind the door. We discovered that at some point while the workers had their equipment plugged in there, they must have accidentally snagged one of the wires and pulled it out from its connection inside the water heater. This wire had fallen to the metal bottom inside the water heater, and when the ignition switch for the pilot light was hit, the electricity went through the metal bottom of the heater and shorted out the control box. While the plumber was here diagnosing and fixing the problem, Lowe's called me to ask about our experience with Comfort Air, as we had hired them through Lowe's. I told them what had happened with the water heater, and within the hour I had a call from Thomas Harrison in the Comfort Air customer service department. Thomas was truly fantastic. He listened to what happened and told me he would contact the owner to let him know about it. Within the next hour he called me back and informed me the owner wanted to help with the repair cost. I sent him the invoice a couple days later when I received it, and very promptly received a call from Thomas letting me know he had given the invoice to the owner, and that Comfort Air was going to cover the whole cost. He also called back a few hours later to let us know that the check had been processed and was in the mail on its way to us. We were obviously very happy with this result and their very quick response. It made us feel we had made the right choice going with Comfort Air, as they can obviously be counted on and have integrity. In addition, Thomas was so courteous in his dealings with us, and so prompt doing everything he said he would. He also seemed to truly care about the problem we were having and was engaged in helping us. His treatment of us and our case really put them above and beyond. My main AC unit stopped working, actually I have had nothing but problems with my AC unit that was installed by Vic's as apart of new home development. So just this last Monday the Main unit stopped, more specifically the compressor would not turn on. I have some experience with low voltage technologies so I did some basic troubleshooting... I replaced the compacitor since it was reading a 38 on my multimeter and it should of been around a 45. That did not work, I then checked the voltage to the contacts, all good there too. So I finally gave in and I decided to call a professional for help, after doing some reaserch I decided to call Comfort Air on April 15th and that same day they sent a service technican over. Travis was the technicians name and he was refreshingly upfront, took his time to explain his troubleshooting process and allowed me to ask multiple questions along the way. Unfortunately after his troubleshooting the issue was in fact the compressor, luckily it was under warranty... So Travis got on the phone and found the replacement and scheduled the replacement time. The entire process was extremely easy and again, Travis was upfront and very peofessional with the mutiple steps involved, the pricing and timeline. Infact Travis checked the attic units and found the main unit was badly bent by the blower door, and there was no debris trap on the gas line (CA Code). Also he made a few sugestions that I found extremely helpful. So today Travis showed up at 9:00 to get started, luckily missing the Coachella traffic. He disconnected everything, drained the freon and when he removed the valves there was greenish dark gunk on the valves and in the lines. Stop Leak! Which is like fix-a-flat for AC units... not good, but not surprising. Mind you, my house is a brand new GHA home, the Goodman AC units (which blow..ha ha) are 2 years old. I always questioned my old AC tech why the main unit sounded like an electric transformer stuck in a blender.... well it probably was going bad from day one. Anyways 3 hours later, all said and done my house for the first time in 2 years was at 75 degrees during Coachella.... no joke. I have never been able to get it below 77 when it was over 100 outside. Again, if you need some AC help call Comfort Air and ask for Travis... deffinately a good guy, plus he served our country in the Military, is married to a teacher and is passionate about his profession. I recently purchased a new home in Palm Springs area. The home had the original, 33yr old, A/C, heating system. It was not in great working condition and it was my intention to replace it sooner or later. I arranged an in home consultation with Comfort Air, a distributor of Lennox products. I made an 8AM appointment to meet with a representative from Comfort Air. John Dapsis arrived precisely on time and he was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and not at all pushy. John shared, with me, his experience as an owner of the Lennox unit. He also went into detail about the financing options available and the many benefits and savings available. He made the decision a no brainer to purchase the equipment from him. I couldnt wait to start enjoying the benefits of the new unit, but because of my work schedule I wasn't sure how soon I would be able to schedule a time to have the installation done. John was so impressive when he picked up the phone and started making calls to the installation crew. Within minutes he had arranged for the total installation of the complete Ultimate Comfort System that day! I was a bit apprehensive and had some doubt that it would be possible without something coming up. Soon the crew, Mike, Tony, and Miguel, were at my place accessing the area. I was nervous when they told me they would need to use a crane to lift the unit into place, but the crane was in and out in minutes without issues. By the way, one of the guys was kind enough to fix my garage door that I had previously disengaged earlier that morning, no extra charge! Mike, Tony, and Miguel were very efficient at what they do! They kept me informed along the way, they all worked well as a team and finished the job in record time. They installed the thermostat and gave me a short tutorial and told me they would be back to activate the WiFi feature once I am setup. They hauled away all the old units, polished up the new ones, made sure everything was running smoothly, and left my place in perfect condition. This experience was overall extremely pleasant and all involved were awesome!!! I would definitely recommend Comfort Air to everyone looking for new A/C, heating systems. Comfort Air was a wonderful experience. It was a Friday night at 6:30 PM and our AC stopped working. Our AC unit is 20 years old and we knew it was only a matter of time. It was the middle of a 116 degree summer day. We did have a home warranty for this reason so we would be covered if/when this happened. We immediately contacted our Home Warranty (American Home Shield) and were assigned a vendor here in the desert (Anthem Mechanical). We called them and got an after hours message, where we left a message. As of 3 days later they still haven't called back. Not knowing what do do we decided to call Comfort Air, we have seen a lot of their commercials on TV, it was now around 9PM or so. They answered right away and said a Technician would call us. Alex from Comfort Air called back and said he could come out and troubleshoot the issue. If he couldn't fix it that night he would leave us with a portable AC unit until he could repair on Saturday. We had a portable AC so we didn't need that and agreed for him to just come out on Saturday. He arrived promptly at 8AM and the unit was up and running by 9AM. He was friendly, personal and professional. We decided to go ahead and upgrade our AC unit so we didn't have the stress of this unit going out again. We went over several options to chose a new system that would work best for us. Alex didn't try to oversell us. He was ethical and honest. I work in Real Estate and have knowledge in this area. They scheduled the install for Monday morning (today). The installation crew arrived promptly at 8AM and by about 3:15 our brand new AC system was up and running. The installation crew, Armando, Fernando, Allen and Felipe were professional and efficient. They were very well mannered and respectable in our home. All communication with the office staff was incredible too! We highly recommend this company. You can tell that there is a lot of pride with this company and that they seem to really care about people. We feel if there is any issues in the future we are in good hands. My wife and I are renters in Palm Springs. We moved into a condo back in September 2016 when it was still quite hot out. We informed the landlord that the AC system was not performing as it should. We had two separate air conditioning companies come out who were sent by the landlord's home warranty company. They pretty much ran through everything and said that because technically everything is doing what it is supposed to do there's nothing that can be done. But I knew better. After explaining to the landlord that my wife and I weren't being nagging tenants and that something is definitely not working he arranged for comfort air to come out to do a full evaluation. The office staff was extremely helpful in setting everything up to find a good time and day to send a technician out. Chris was the technician who showed up and I explained to him what the previous two companies did and told him my opinion of what I thought was going on. Chris was very patient and understanding and had a genuine interest in wanting to help us get to the bottom of what was going on. He made all of his notes and said he would discuss his findings with his boss. It turned out to be that the unit was almost 40 years old and was the most on efficient piece of equipment you could find. Not too long after that I was informed by the landlord that he was in fact making the arrangements to you have the air conditioning unit replaced. Today our entire air conditioning system was replaced by Carlos, Carter, and Duran. My wife and I found them to be extremely professional. They did an exceptional job. The day before the install Carter came out to overlook everything to make sure that everything was ready for them to begin the install. My wife and I are very pleased with the final outcome and the service that comfort air and their staff has provided for us. Even though we are not the ones paying the bills they treated us with great class just the same as if we were the ones paying for everything. Once again, Comfort Air has come to my rescue! After suffering extended "events" with SCE's Summer Discount Program, I called SCE to complain that my A/C unit was turned off for almost 6 hours on several consecutive days. Granted, I joined that program to help conserve energy, but I never thought I'd have to suffer for hours on end at 90F+ in my home. When I spoke to SCE they told me it would take 24-48 hours to disengage from the program. Yesterday, one hour short of 48 hours since my call, my A/C was still off and the house was a sweltering 91F. SCE's rep told me that the "event" ended about 2 hours prior, so my unit should be on. He could offer no solutions except to say that SCE would remove the sending unit in 3-5 business days, which was totally unacceptable. I called Comfort Air and the tech, Paul Mitchell returned my call within about 30 mins. He happened to be close by and said he could be at my place in about 15 mins. It was near dusk, and the poor guy had been working non-stop all day in 110F+ heat, but he arrived cheerful and eager to help! Anyone else would have been all sweaty and grumpy, but not Paul. After some brief troubleshooting, he determined that my A/C wasn't coming on because my condensation drain was clogged and the safety device they installed cut off the compressor, as it is designed to do. Further inspection resulted in the determination that the drain pipe was too long and probably stuck in the soil under my manufactured home. Paul cut about 2" off the pipe and reattached it, solving the problem. The A/C unit immediately started up! Only a technician with vast experience and a willingness to help a hot, tired, and frustrated retiree get his A/C back would work so quickly and efficiently...... and with a big smile on his face! Then, to my amazement, there was no charge because it was considered a warranty repair! Don't believe the few sour reviews on Yelp, these guys are decent, honest, and worthy of your business. read more

Our air conditioning system finally died in early August in the scorching desert heat. We called Comfort Air to get a price on a new HVAC system. John helped us choose a system (Lennox XC-16) that was right for our needs and budget. Carlos and Brian showed up on time to install the system. They did a great job installing our system in the extreme heat of the attic and outdoors. They were courteous and professional, and the installation job was top notch. Once the system was installed and working we discovered that the system noise in the house had not improved over the old noisy system. However, that was no problem for Comfort Air. Paul came out to our home and looked at the situation and determined that the one air return (located close to the attic furnace) in the house was not designed right and was not sufficient to cool the house in a quiet manner. Paul proposed that they modify the plenum and air return ducting, install a second air return as well as install z grills on the air supplies in the house. This would both quiet down the system and better deliver cool air into the house. We agreed and planned to have the work done in the middle of September once temperatures were cooler. In the mean time we got our first electric bill with the new system. Our electric consumption dropped 37% over the same period last year. In mid September we had the additional work done by Comfort Air. Arturo, Ricardo and Frankie showed up on time and within 5 hours had the work completed. They were also courteous and professional, and answered all our questions and concerns about the work they were doing. We couldn't be happier. The system is now so quiet that we have to go stand under the main air return in the hallway and look at the thermostat to tell that the system is running. Typical a/c failure story here in the desert... temps soar over 100 degrees for the first time in the Summer, and you start feeling uncomfortably warm inside your house. The A/C's dying and your plans for the week just went out the window. Based on all these 5-star reviews, I emailed Comfort Air via Yelp on Sunday night asking for an appointment call after 8:00 Monday morning. At 8:01 my phone rang, and Paul was there within a couple of hours. The old system was shot, and Paul offered several options and recommendations. And, the best part was that their bid was more than $1000 less than another company had offered on a Lennox system three years earlier when I bought the place and called them out for periodic maintenance. Paul juggled their schedule and set up the install for the next day. Fifteen minutes before their scheduled 10am arrival, the installer called saying he was on his way. Once on site, they prepped the old system for removal, cleaned the ducts, and right on schedule the crane showed up and was so quick and efficient that I didn't even get to see the new system hoisted up. Then, less than two hours later, the installer flipped the switch on the new Lennox system. Wow! What a difference. The temperature dropped by 5 degrees within a half hour (as compared to the old system which would have taken at least 2 hours when it was working). And frankly, if you couldn't feel the cold air coming out of the vents, you'd hardly know the system was running it is so quiet. Since install a month ago, I've been pleased with the new system. My home is more comfortable, and a nice benefit is that my electric consumption is down by a third. Now, I'm kicking myself for wasting time and $$ having the old system repaired and not having just called Comfort Air years ago. When my 25 years old A/C unit finally died last month, I started checking around for a new A/C unit. Called 4 different AC companies to compare. The first 3 companies sent their sales rep and spent a lot of time trying to sell me all kinds of packages including future service contract. It was clear that they were told what they need to sell to make the most profit and they memorized the script and used pre-printed material to do the representation. The total price all came out double of what they advertised on the newspaper. My husband decided to give it one more try when he saw the ad from Comfort Air. Paul, the owner of Comfort Air, showed up. There was no long long long presentation. He simply made a suggestion about what kind of the A/C unit we need after he checked around the house. Then he wrote down the total price of the complete job including warranty and future service....The entire meeting took less than 20 minute and his price was reasonable. So we decided to go for it. My house is located in a gated community with very tight HOA rules. My A/C unit is on the top of the roof. It is mandatory to have HOA contracted roofer to inspect the work after we replaced the A/C unit. After the work was completed. I received an email from our HOA claiming that they have inspected the work and have question regarding the new platform built by Comfort Air. I forwarded the email to Paul at 9pm and I received his email replied at 9:10pm Paul's email said "I will get on it first thing in the morning" and he did. Paul got together with the roofer and Paul paid extra money to have the roofer do the extra work was needed so I could pass the inspection right away. I am very impressed by Paul's professionalism and problem solving skill. I highly recommend Comfort air for anyone whom need A/C work. read more
