    Key Lime Pie + coffee
    Lawrence K.

Their key lime pie + coffee took me to heaven. I already had lunch that day, so I came in just for pie and coffee. Most other diners have 3 or 4 different pies, and all are mediocre. Here I appreciate how they only offer one flavor, but do it well! Pie was perfect--zippy acidity from the key lime filling, and cream to cool it off. I'll be back! Even though the pie was perfect, I have to take off 1 star for slow service. I waited 5 minutes at the beginning to get my order taken, and 5 mins at end for my check to arrive.

We visited on Sunny side cafe for breakfast / brunch and had a wonderful experience. We ordered two iced coffees along with a couple of breakfast plates and a cinnamon roll, everything was excellent. The portions were just right, and the food tasted incredibly fresh and flavorful. The service was the perfect balance of professional and relaxed. Our server, Joanne, was so friendly and kind. She gave us plenty of space to enjoy our meal without constantly checking in, but she was always attentive and made sure everything was perfect whenever we needed anything. Overall, it was a great breakfast experience, and we'll definitely be back.

Back at Sunny Side for the second time, where the Sun always shines even when it's cloudy outside. It's where you'll find friendly people, smily faces, great food and great service. All in an inviting, minimalist well designed space. Happy to be back. I highly recommend. Shout out to Gioia, Alisa and the rest of the crew. Keep on shining.

I got the burger and added bacon and soft scrabble egg she got the turkey club sandwich. Those hasbrowns tho!!!

So my wife send me a Tik tok of this place and you know that mean now I have to bring her. Well I'm glad I did this place was real good. I had the burger and that meat was delicious. She had the turkey club. Everything was very fresh. Even though they forgot to bring us our pancakes the food and the service was great. I did want to taste the pancakes but oh well maybe next time. Do yourself a favor and get the hash browns no lie we got two orders of them. They're so crispy and like buttery trust me. Oh their ranch was very good aswel.

Breakfast was really good. I really enjoyed and appreciated the use of organic high quality food ingredients. The staff is friendly and attentive. Its a great casual spot for breakfast, or lunch and a comfortable home style meal.

Breakfast is solid and they had a good amount of choices without being overwhelming. Also had good lunch choices. The service was great, everyone was friendly. Really digging the cute diner vibe. I had the Americano (I'm boring) but it came on a tray with sugar cubes! Don't sleep on their cinnamon roll! It was definitely worth leaving room for.

Good spot. Love the atmosphere, the food, and the service. The only part that I didn't thoroughly enjoy was the drip coffee as it tasted burnt. Let them know and they gladly comped it. Has the country friend Steak & Eggs and it was really a good choice. The wife had the ribeye and eggs and it's a great portion at a good price and the presentation is nice as well. The Country fried came with a delicious homemade biscuit and cinnamon butter. Subbed out the potatoes for a salad (even this had a nice presentation and taste). Had seen this place for years but thanks to Yelp I finally checked it out! The interior is cute, the lighting is inviting, the staff is helpful, there was artwork form the kids who visit posted all over the walls, and fresh flowers at each table. 10/10!

Matcha Latte 5/5 No added sweetness. My wife is a matcha snob and loved it.

Food 5/5 Service 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 (if you like classic diners) This place has a happy classic diner feel but the food is elevated. We were surprised by the quality of the food and the execution by the kitchen staff. Our waitress was also super pleasant and you could tell enjoyed her job. This place does everything right for breakfast.

Came on by a Saturday morning around 10:30am no wait got seated as soon as the hostess approached us. Very friendly service food came out within 10-15 min from ordering. We went with chicken fried steak so yummy hashbrowns were crispy and soft in the inner layer. Egg quality is amazing and cooked well. Vanilla Iced coffee is yummy however not very sweet if you like a sweeter latte. The biscuit wasn't really to my liking next time I would get some toast instead(: definitely will be returning to try other plates. Music is within normal levels to be able to chat as you eat breakfast and there's plenty of tables to be seated. Areas are clean and well kept.

After running a marathon, my hunger was so intense, I could've eaten a horse--or at least a breakfast burrito the size of one. Then, like a beacon of hope on my social media feed, I found this breakfast place. Spoiler alert: it didn't disappoint! The food was so good, it made my taste buds do a happy dance. I didn't snap a pic of the pancakes, but let me tell you, they were the real MVP of the meal. They were so fluffy, I almost asked if they had a personal trainer. The service was friendly, but our server had the memory of a goldfish. She forgot our order, our drinks, and probably her own name at one point. But hey, at least she was consistent! The place was small, so small that I could hear every conversation. It was like being in a breakfast soap opera. "Did you hear about Karen's new cat?" "I can't believe Bob ordered the avocado toast again!" It was all very entertaining.

Cute little sunflower on each table

Sunny Side Cafe in Seal Beach was a whole Sunday morning vibe. We came around 10 a.m. on a Sunday with my son, and I already had an inkling the food was going to be good because the dining room was full of multiple generations. That's always the sign. The wait was about 15 minutes and parking was easy, which is a weekend miracle. While we waited, I watched them use a machine that fresh-squeezes oranges right there. I didn't order the orange juice, but it definitely set the tone. Inside, it was bustling with people coming in and out, but the vibes were still super chill. They had an old-school music playlist that felt perfect for all ages, like everybody could enjoy it. Also, each table had a fresh sunflower, which is such a simple, cute touch. Now let's talk food. My son got the Mini Mooncakes with chocolate chips, and I tried a bite and whew... they slapped. Slightly crisp on the edges, soft and fluffy in the middle, with semi-sweet chocolate chips and buttery goodness. I ordered the All-American with the Load Hash, and it was exactly what I wanted: thick strips of bacon, and eggs that were clearly fresh because the yolks were that bright, rich yellow. The sourdough with their in-house strawberry jam was the perfect little sweet moment on the side. And the Load Hash? Was it a little salty? Yes. Did that stop me from demolishing the whole plate? Not even a little. Best breakfast I've had out in a while. You can tell they care about details and quality. Five out of five. No notes.

Half sandwich & cup of soup
    Julie N.

Did my first dine in here as I work in the area. The parking lot was full. I ordered the half sandwich and soup and it also came with an AMAZING side salad. The soup was tomato bisque. Delicious, but just a tad too salty for me. I took my half sandwich to go. My friend ordered the Popeye omelet with home fries. The coffee was piping hot and delicious. (just the way I like it) and our server promptly did refills twice in the short time we were there. The prices are reasonable, the staff is pleasant and friendly and the restaurant is SUPER clean and new with plenty of parking. My friend took the key lime pie to go, but ended up eating it there. He said it was good. A "four" for level of tartness. Today was definitely a better experience than the last time I did a "to go" here. I'll be back!

Cinnamon Roll, carrot cake and donut
    Laurel T.

I was in the area and with a quick search (on yelp of course. I found this place) I came on a Saturday around 11 am. They do have a very large parking lot. When we walked in it was packed! But we did get seated right away. The hostess was extremely sweet. We walked past the bakery items in the glass case and asked our hostess about it. And she was kind enough to tell us all about the items. They are known for their cinnamon rolls and key lime pie While walking to our table they have walls COVERED In drawling from all the kids that come in. I thought this was a sweet homey touch. It feels like your local brunch place PS- this place does close at 3 PM everyday Our waiter, Luis took care of. There was some little misunderstandings with our order. But I can't stress how PACKED this place is. Every table was taken. So it's bound to happen here and there Now, to our food We ordered the blueberry pancakes The morning bird sandwich We ordered French fries, loaded potatoes and guacamole for sides For dessert- their famous cinnamon roll, carrot cake and maple donut Even though it was packed and every table taken, our food came out in a timely manner. Our glasses kept getting refilled Service was friendly, but they definitely need more workers for how packed it gets. We did have a couple wrong orders and etc. but again it was packed We did NOT ask to speak to the manager. However, our waiter sent her over. Someone came over and took care of the issue (Valerie is one of the managers) TEN STARS FOR VALERIE!! She was extremely professional about everything. I'd really love to come back to try some of their lunch sandwiches. And huge points for being locally owned and operated They have patio seating (also says dogs welcome) They have private parking Really great homemade baked goods Good prices Good portions I can tell a lot of locals come here, so that's a great sign Wait staff was friendly Despite it being PACKED the food came out fast And I can't praise Valerie enough (the manager who came over and was so professional about the couple things that went wrong) I would 100000 perfect come back

We started with appetizers: mussels ($23) and braised lamb belly ($25). For the main course, we ordered a ribeye steak ($69), Scottish salmon ($46), and "dirty pasta" ($36). Drinks included a glass of wine ($17) and a glass of Coke ($4.50). With tax ($23.15) and an "employee benefits" charge ($5.51), the total came to $249.16 before gratuity. The mussels are cooked in a broth of white wine, nduja sausage, tomatoes, onions, lemon juice, and parsley, with a toasted baguette served on the side. I liked the overall taste of the dish, but the mussels were small. The braised lamb belly was an interesting dish, as it was served with kimchi and thin sheets of daikon radish on the side. I assumed the idea was to make a "taco" by combining the three components. I liked it, though the lamb had bit of gaminess which might not appeal to everyone. The ribeye plate comes as steak only, with sides available à la carte. The steak was cooked nicely--juicy and flavorful, though I was a bit surprised by how rich it tasted. The "dirty pasta" features large rigatoni, ground duck, ricotta, and sauce. It was good, and the duck made for an interesting change from the usual beef. As a complete plated meal, I think the Scottish salmon was impressive--both for its visual presentation and the taste of the meal as a whole. The restaurant floor has a split-level design. Upon entering, you'll find a large oval bar surrounded by tables and booths. Step down a level, and there are seats offering views of the Long Beach marina. This area with a view is protected by windows--which is good, as the marine air is often cool and breezy. It seems that nearly all the establishments owned by this restaurant group have names starting with the letter or word "A." When searching online, use the words "a pch restaurant," as "a pch" alone is apparently too vague a search term. A final note to management: I was surprised to see a $5.51 charge for "employee benefit" on our bill. I playfully asked our server what benefits this covered, but they didn't know. They mentioned it could be removed if I objected, but I chose not to. My point is, if you're charging diners, shouldn't your staff be able to explain it? And if the line item can be so easily discharged, maybe you shouldn't be adding it in the first place.

It wasn't even close to full. They're clearly holding people outside on purpose to create fake hype, which is honestly pretty messed up. You're telling me dozens of people are stuck waiting forever while there's plenty of room inside? It's giving manufactured crowd and poor management. To make it worse, they stopped serving drinks and turned the lights on at 1:15 AM, way earlier than literally any normal bar. So after wasting hours in line, you barely even get time inside. And it somehow gets worse -- at 1:35 AM they were literally kicking people out of the restroom. We weren't even allowed to finish or wash our hands before being rushed out. That's not just rude, it's straight up unhygienic and disrespectful. Overall, completely overhyped, disorganized, and not worth the wait at all. Don't fall for the line -- it's fake.

For starters, we got the Parker House Rolls, which comes with truffle butter, local citrus honey, and grana padano cheese. These rolls were so fluffy and flavorful. We also ordered the hummus, which was so rich and creamy, and the oysters from the raw bar. For the main, we ordered the Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop, Fish & Chips, and the Wedge salad to share. And let me tell you, that everything was so good. The Smoked & Glazed Pork Chop came with a whole show, where staff would bring out the dish in a smoke-infused glass dome and open the dome when presented on the table so we can smell and see all the smoke. Not only was it beautiful to look at, but it tasted just as beautifully. The meat was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the rainbow swiss chard, cheddar grits, candied pecans, and avocado honey helped balance out all the juiciness from the meat. They use haddock fillet for the Fish & Chips, which was fried to perfection. The Wedge Salad is what actually knocked my socks off! This was one of the best wedge salads that I've ever had. It had your key ingredients: iceberg, buttermilk dressing, red onion, crumbled egg, tomato, bacon gastrique, blue cheese, dill, chives - but something about this salad was different! It was so refreshing, flavorful--just everything you want in a dish. We ended the dining experience with their Peach Cobbler Hand Pie, which came with streusel, pistachio crumble, salted caramel, and vanilla ice cream. Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area!
