Who would think that a little place in a mall would have amazing grilled Mahi Mahi? I've seriously paid $25 for something a quarter as good.

Waited 30 mins for 2 steak plates and a loco moco. It doesn't take that long to prepare. What made it even worse is- 1. They didn't tell me about the long wait ahead of time, for me to be understanding. 2. They could have made my child's loco moco first, to compensate our time waiting. Therefore my child could have been eating in the mean time.. Instead of receiving cold food. 3. They Didn't acknowledge me at all. I sat there while they walked back and forth. No concerns whatsoever. Helped 4 other customers that came after me, and all got served before me. When my food was finally ready, I told the owner I waited 30 mins. She openly denied it and said "no it hasn't been that long". I showed her the time on my receipt, and the time on my phone for proof. All she said was "oh. Sorry". So I asked the owner "what took so long?". She said she made another customer's musubis before my order. I told her the customer who ordered 6 musubis came after me. She denied it and said no. When I was sitting at the table, right next to the register, waiting for my order while he ordered. I saw the whole thing. She lied to my face! Twice! I also didn't like that they were handling the plates, using tongs, scooping rice, etc. without wearing gloves. Being sanitary is crucial, especially during a pandemic. $45 for such bad service was very disappointing. I was not compensated in anyway. read more

Maggot in my food. Almost finished the whole plate until I saw the maggot. They charged me for the chicken and they charged me for the rice but they did not give me a refund for the whole entire plate. Just a refund on the chicken. Where's their common sense? This place is awesome I love the food and the girls are very friendly and go out of there way to accommodate customers this place gets really busy because of the great food the boss Sam is very friendly as well delicious grinds great portions fast n friendly service talk about service with aloha definitely will be a regular at this restaurant read more

The Korean spicy chicken from the hot bar was my absolute favorite until I found a very long thick piece of black hair in it. I got a refund and I do still go there from time to time but I think this place is slowly going down. The tables are dirty every time I go there so I don't dine in anymore, and the employees need to take a customer service class or something. read more

I work in the mall, so usually on my "lunch" break I will eat at one of the food establishments there. On saturday afternoon, I decided to eat at Sunlight Express. It was just after 12:30pm so I thought it was going to be busy, but when I peaked in through the doorway, there was no line and I decided to go in. As I walked in, I noticed that although there was no line, all the seats within their seating area was taken. If I didn't have a break room at work to sit in, I would have been disappointed. There was only one woman in front of me, and she seemed to be a regular so I watched how she ordered. I've only been here a few times and when I did, I always just got a smoothie or the chicken cutlet plate, I never ordered from the express line before (I did that day because I didn't want to wait for my food). All the food available in the express line looked very appetizing, even though I didn't know what some of the food was. There were no labels on the food trays which I found very frustrating and intimidating, especially when there were over ten food items to choose from and some in crock pots with lids on them. A line had formed behind me so I knew that I had to order fast, but it was hard to decide when I didn't know what some of it was. I could have certainly asked the woman making my plate, but she seemed to be in a rush so I didn't. I decided on the noodles with their katsu and char su chicken. Both the cashier and the woman who made my plate were very polite and efficient at their work stations. The cashier gave me my "mall discount" automatically because I was wearing my uniform, and I thought that was very nice of her. Overall, the food was very good, and at a good price because the express lane only charges you per food item. I first ate the noodles, which I was colder than I expected it to be, but I've never had it before so maybe that's how it was meant to be. It didn't make them any less delicious and filling. The katsu chicken was crispy on the outside and had juicy chicken on the inside, and the sauce complimented it with a tangy flavor. I thought that the char su chicken was the best out of the plate. It had a lot of flavor and the crispy but soft texture was very satisfying. I do plan on coming here again if there's no line, I just wish I knew what other tasty food they had available on the express line that I didn't know about. read more

The curry chicken katsu was ok but the mac salad was awful. No taste just potatoes and macaroni with the worst mayo and no seasoning. Yuck!

I stood in line and when I got to the counter I asked the girl who was taking my order, what was the difference between two things on their menu board, she seemed irritated that I asked a question. She came out side to check their menu board and then told me what the difference was. I told her thank you and I would take the second choice. She then told me she would take my order when the line went down. I could not believe my ears, was she telling me to go to the back of the line? I stood at the counter and waited for her to come back and take my order, but she did not come back, she would not come back to the counter to take anyones order, she just watched us. Needless to say I just left and I will never be back. I myself have worked in the food service industry for many years and I am sensitive to others that do so too, but if you cant take a customer asking you a simple question then you should not be working in a field where customer service is a big part of your job. The last time I felt like that was when I was living in a racist town on the mainland, where they did not allow brown people there and would tell you that to your face, but I never thought I would be put in the back of the line in my own home town in Hawaii. Very poor customer service. Wont go there again. I stopped by this restaurant to buy some french fries for my son while we were roaming around the mall. Their menu on the wall stated the price of french fries as $1.5, but when I ordered, it was $3.5. Obviously, I asked why it was so, the lady at the counter said the price on the menu is wrong (with a bit of attitude). I suggested that they should probably update the price on the menu. On my receipt, it was written as Dosirak instead of french fries and her explanation was that, she they don't have it on the machine. Hmm... Okay..!! Then i was asked to wait for my order to be ready. So I waited and waited.... and waited for upto 15 minutes and my son started complaining that its taking too long. My wife came searching for me and I started thinking that they were possibly harvesting potatoes for the fries.... So, i got up and asked if my order was ready. Then another girl went inside and brought my fries which had started loosing its freshness. So that was it. They either made me wait intentionally or like I said, they were growing potatoes for each order read more
