Everyone here was helpful. There was an employee by the door, she was watching my 3 big shopping bags while I was shopping for glasses with Raul. It means a lot. I had an exhausting day shopping here for family for Eid (it's this Friday), and the staff here were welcoming, respectful, comfortable to shop with and they encouraged me to donate (because I wanted to) to the children that don't have glasses. Carolina let me know that the company was really helping kids because that company was giving glasses out at her own elementary school. This was great, educational and a moment of growth for me. Who doesn't love Sunglasses Hut?! It's a staple for sunglasses lovers everywhere. My husband and I are here in town on business and I drug him to fashion valley first thing for dinner and shopping as always. He wanted to get his Ray-Bans adjusted and tightened and the friendly gal inside did it no questions asked immediately. She also made pleasant small-talk while I browsed and he asked for a few more adjustments along the way until he was happy they were fitting like he wanted. I saw several beautiful pairs of sunglasses I loved from excellent brands like Tiffany and Co., Bvlgari, Ray Ban and Dulce and Gabbana. Love this location as well bc there is so much to see and do and eat in Fashion Valley. You can spend an entire day here shopping. This shop is on the top level in the food court. read more

I'm a long-time customer of Sunglass Hut as I value the customer service. On Feb. 16 had a great experience with Humberto (manager) Sunglass Hut in Macy's Fashion Valley Mall. Purchased a pair of sunglasses, although hesitant on the style for me. Feb.17 went to Sunglass Hut Los Americas Mall and stopped in to see if Rose (manager) whom I've known over the years might have something. She is also excellent as well as Caesar (one of her employees). She didn't have anything, so Feb.18 I returned to Sunglass Hut in Macy's Fashion Valley Mall. I encountered Isabella and asked about an exchange for a different style or return. Isabella had a look and rude tone that was raw and uncomfortable to be sure I know she had no interest to help me look. Rather, she took the sunglasses in a hasty way, and for 3 to 5 minutes spray/wipe/inspect them over and over, and all the while talking to the other employee in Spanish under her breath in front of me, and giving me snide glares like "you are wasting my time". Half way through this I went to look at other brands and styles, but she and the other employee had no interest to help me. So upon my return to the counter Isabella accused me of wearing the glasses and that I had a scratched a lens.I told her, one I never wore them. Two, I could not see any scratch where she was showing me. Three, then whatever she was seeing was sold to me this way. She said there was nothing she could do and to go. Wow! Really?! Feb. 18, I returned and spoke and showed Faye, Macy's General Manager, and whom I've never met, the sunglasses to if she could find the scratch. NOPE! Faye said no scratch. Faye followed me down to the Sunglass Hut counter to verify this with Humberto. Humberto, was awesome! He also confirmed there was NO scratch. Humberto took the time and helped me find a better style. I absolutely love the new pair, albeit more expensive, yet discovered Persol brand and super happy! THANK YOU Humberto! Isabella, you are TOXIC and definitely bad for Sunglass Hut corporate image. I have been in corporate management as well as a business owner serving customers. I recently purchased 3 pairs of sunglasses. Ray-Bans for my dad, Gucci's for my mom, and Chanel's for me. My mom wanted to get her glasses tightened and left the store in tears. Christian the employee who works at fashion valley mall in San Diego upper level was extremely rude. He told her he couldn't help her unless all the paying customers were helped first. He told her she wasn't a priority and made her wait over 30 minutes. Each customer that came in after her was tended to immediately and customers even had to tell this employee to help my mom. He treated her so poorly and I'm tempted to return my products that were over $1500. You can't tell a customer since they're not purchasing anything they don't deserve priority's! Unacceptable!! Like many before me, I had a very rude interaction with an employee. They judged me right as soon as I walked in and when I shared my story of having only tried on the sunglasses in my own home, he cleaned them smirking and making a face the entire time. His face speaks for itself even when doesn't realize it or when saying he believed me. Take your hard earned cash to another SGH. I got myself a pair of Maui Jims shipped to my house from the SGH. I noticed some scratches and brought them back for an exchange because of defects. The scratches were faint and only visible under bright light. The receipt said I could return/exchange the sunglasses in original condition within 90 days of purchase. The manager would not honor the condition on the back of the receipt. Instead she insisted I make use of the "Oops Coverage," which means you pay additional 50% of your original pair for a new pair. If you're going to be dropping a hundred or two on quality sunglasses, do it at another SGH. I've had great experiences at other shops. read more

They never arrived and tracking showed they were stuck in transit. When asking the store, they said that it sometimes happens and that I need to call them. after telling them it was ridiculous that the customer has to find out where the inventory is, the guy offered to call and contact my son. Never happened. A few weeks went by and today I went into the store AGAIN. I told them I want a refund and they said they couldn't do that. That I have to go file a complaint. This is the biggest BS I have EVER HEARD. Edwin one of the managers was of no help. This company does not put their customers first. This update does not reflect my experience with the staff. They are actually very accommodating and friendly. I'm giving two stars simply based on the product that I purchased here because at the end of the day, that was the reason for my visit to the store. My wife bought me a pair of Prada Sunglasses for my birthday that started to deteriorate almost immediately. The layer of film on the lenses started to flake from the edges. At first, I thought it was something I had done to them, but after a while of not using them, I noticed it was getting worse. I am adding a photo of them to this review. When you pay $300 for a pair of sunglasses, you expect a certain level of quality. Please DO visit this store, they are very nice, but stay away from the Prada brand! I bought sunglasses last night and wished to return them today to this location. I haven't opened the box or worn the glasses yet. The manager tells me that since they are designer Chanel sunglasses and very expensive, and due to this he cannot return them at this location. Then he mentions that they are damaged and he can't take them back. He told me I must drive all the way back to wherever I bought them and do it there. I bought them less than 24 hours ago and the receipt and authenticity card EVERYTHING was still in the box. There was no way I was driving all the way back to return when the return policy NEVER states this. I haven't even had a chance to wear them yet. I look at the glasses and they looked completely new so I was confused as to why he was telling me this. I tried calling customer service and the original location I bought them and no reply. Until I finally get ahold of a different location, explain my story and she apologizes and says that he should have returned them bc no where in the policy does it state "expensive designer sunglasses must be returned at original bought location". She informed me that there was another sunglasses hut upstairs and I went and easily returned them there no hassles. The manager here is idiotic and should not be working at the downstairs location. This is unacceptable and very unprofessional as a business. Very disappointed with the staff and management. Update: After doing research, reading reviews, and from my own knowledge and experience in the field of retail I learned something. What this store is doing is inherently wrong and fraudulent because the manager is trying to prevent a drop in their sales # by not accepting returns. No where in the sunglasses hut return policy says you must return to original location. This matter should be investigated by corporate. If you are trying to cover up your returns and boost your sales you should practice good customer service instead of rigging the system to cover up for shit service. This was by far one of my worst customer service experiences I've had in my life. I came in for an eyeglass repair the worker, Victoria proceeded to ruin the new glass by putting on the frame backwards and scratching the front side of the glasses. She then told me to come back in ten minutes because she was busy with other customers that came in after me. She also denied putting them on backwards when I told her about it because it was obvious she made a mistake. I was able to fix the frame with other Sunglass hut worker in the Macy's location her name was Abigail she was amazing but I noticed the scratches so I went back to the original shop to ask for the lady, as I was taking off my shades that were just repaired they fell apart, she improperly put the screws back in one side. The new worker I was talking to was named Carolina she was a big help as well and replaced the glasses. I don't believe good workers like Abigail and Carolina should have to fix the mistakes of another lazy workers like Victoria. read more

Rating is actually a ZERO. Sunglass Hut company policy is NO RETURNS even if merchandise is defected. After 3 weeks the Maui Jim $185 sunglasses I purchased became warped. The manager said that happens to this style and since I wore them no return. After reading other reviews and speaking to another SH manager (different location), I found out Sunglass Huts' policy is to say "they are worn, look there's a scratch" regardless of defaults, quality malfunction, no scratches, etc.This was my 1st and last Sunglass Hut purchase. This store is not good. On the notion from previous reviews written regarding exchanges, this store specifically is conducting shady practices and possibly wanting to keep their sales up?. They refused to accept a return despite the merchandise being well within the written policy outlined on the receipt (within 30 days and in showroom condition). However, I was completely honest with them about the return. I told them I bought the same exact sunglasses for cheaper directly from the Oakley website. I gave them the pair and They said the glasses had scratches and would not accept the return. I said ok I have the other pair which is flawless. They wouldn't accept. I said why not? They are the same exact pair. She denied me and said it had to be from their warehouse. I said this is directly from Oakley. I thought well that's not right, how would she even know if I wasn't completely honest about buying two pairs. I called other two additional stores and explained the situation. I was again completely honest and said apparently my glasses were scratched but I have the same exact pair which is flawless. I even presented the scenario of just returning and not saying anything about buying a second pair and giving the apparent "flawless" glasses for the exchange. They said I could return no problem at both stores without a problem, So I did just that. I called this store specifically back to speak with the manager and presented the same scenario. She told me I could return them as long as they were within 30 days and in showroom condition. I told her just to relay the information with the clerks and the manager spoke with the clerk, then later got an attitude with me. I told her I only was trying to educate so they would not have a frustrated customer in the future who would have to drive across town for a return that was adequate. She told me to call corporate and I asked why the hostility as I already got the return and she hung up on me. I got my refund from the other store, however I will never shop at sunglass hut ever again just because of this Fashion valley experience. I highly suggest people stay clear of here. read more

I'm the single pickiest person in the world when it comes to sunglasses. I'm very selective with what I want, and I have a tough noggin to fit. So, any time I walk into a sunglasses store with intent to even consider a new pair, it's at least a 30 minute ordeal. And I still have to go home and think about it. Regardless of my use of labor-hour resource and lack of purchase, I have twice been to this location and never been made to feel bad about either. I wish I had gotten the guy's name the first time I went in last year, but I made sure to get the girl's name this time. Trixia (I didn't get the spelling) was very pleased to help me. She asked me what type of glasses I was looking for and brought me every pair she thought met my wants as I picked my own. While I was looking through, she was constantly bringing me ones I hadn't seen yet or even overlooked. I did feel bad after her 30 minutes of commitment to no commission, but my guilt was self-inflicted. None of it came from any facial expression, comment, or gesture of hers. The same is to be said of the guy that helped me last time. I just wish I had gotten his name. In summary: The sales staff here has patience like nobody's business, which probably means the management here puts a high importance on customer service. Their selection is great. And even though they sell at full retail price, their sales staff really makes the experience seem that you will get what you pay for if anything happens to your newly purchased poker face. read more

As a disclaimer, I'm basing the 1 star on a recent disappointing experience from this store in particular. Like all extreme reviews on this site, use your discretion with my opinions. And of note, I hate dishing out the 1 stars. Here's a behavior that I have grown accustomed to from large retail stores. Initial visit, you have cash/credit ready to burn, the staff are polite, attentive, and helpful. They'll smile as the cash register chimes before sending you off on your merry way. What separates genuine interest in customer service (i.e. Apple) is what happens after the cash register closes. I've been a long time customer of the Hut in various locations. I have bought multiple pairs of Ray Bans from them. My wayfarer's right lens cracked at no fault of the manufacturer. Took it into the store, was told I'd have to get replacement lenses and return. I was also warned the only a few employees "felt comfortable" repairing glasses but I was assured once I get the lens, I will get my glasses fixed. Odd that workers at a boutique sunglasses store cannot perform basic repairs, who are they hiring? Untrained college kids? I went along with the plan anyway. Received the lens, called ahead for the specially trained super employee, spoke to Brooke who happened to be one of the special ones, was turned down saying she was the only one working in the store and to call the next day where they will have multiple employees and that she too would be available. Fine. Called 10am, no body picked up at opening time. Got a hold of someone later - spoke to another girl who wasn't Brooke but she too could fix glasses. She told me to come anytime after 12 since she was the only one in the store at the time. Great. I go to the store early afternoon, saw only one girl working the floor who sounded like the person I spoke to earlier. Patiently waited to be served (store was busy). Was told she could not do repairs (odd...she sounded like the person I spoke to earlier), told me that I must have called the other store in the same mall (nope, I picked up a business card from that store which had that exact store's # to avoid speaking to automated machines). She was hurried which gave me the sense that she wanted to brush me off - fine, she was busy. She turfed me off to the other store so off I went, while getting paged by my hospital in the meantime (took a precious lunch break to get this addressed). The other store was even less helpful. The college kid told me they didn't have the right "equipment" to replace lenses. He referred me away to lens crafter, even telling me with certainty that there was a store within the same mall - he lied (likely to shoo me away). Granted this was one sour experience but it was enough to convince me that my business was not valued, that rather then telling me they either could not do repairs or did not want to (neither of which are acceptable), they were clearly too busy, short-staffed, and did not have qualified employees at the time of my visit. That's enough to shake my confidence in any business for long-term customer relationships. Protip: Have more people working on the floor and have a formalized system for dealing with repairs - should be a no-brainer. read more

I've been here a couple times to buy sunglasses, and both times have been great experiences. The main reason why I chose to write a review is because of there exchange policy. I went in to see if they could clean out some white gunk between the lens and the frame (it was extra glue coming out, I think), and they just simply replaced them. Beautiful! The only reason why they don't get five stars, is for their customer service. Don't get me wrong, they are very attentive and considerate when you come in, and are very friendly when helping you find sizes/styles. I feel like they were a little too pushy for the more expensive polarized lenses, so that irked me a bit. I understand they are trying to upsell and be a strong salesperson, but that's a fine art that I think some of their reps need to work on. Almost five-star worthy. Almost! read more

Purchased many sunglasses for myself and my husband and we've always had excellent customer experiences...until of course we stumbled upon a small scratch on a pair of glasses we just purchased so we came the next day to exchange them. I have an issue with the manager at the Sunglass Hut upstairs right by Starbucks. Her name is CORRINE I believe. I walked in there with my girlfriend looking for a specific brand of sunglasses to which she replied, "No, we dont have that." I asked if she knew where I could find it and she just shook her head unwilling to be of any help or assistance. Her demeanor is uninviting and her personality absolutely stinks. So I leave. We walk out and grab a coffee next door and as I wait in line, I glance across the way and what do I see? The store of the brand I was looking for!!! Corinne lied to me when I asked her if she knew where I can find it! What a shady liar. AND she's supposed to be a manager????? I cant believe she is a representation of management for that company. Even if they carried the brand I was looking for, her customer service skills was unnacceptable and I would have left without a purchase anyway. I'm extremely bothered by her and will do everything needed to make sure the proper people see this complaint. She can learn a thing or two from her own associates even. I guess I'm just boggled that such unprofessionalism is representing a business such as that. They said they are a "boutique store" and do not have an extra pair in the back so they sold me the glasses on the shelf. One of two sunglasses was scratched. When I went to return it I got questioned by the manager (Morena), who sold me the glasses. She asked why I didn't call them, why I didn't come back few days later etc... There is a return policy for a reason and I suggest the staff follow the written rule. PS. Went to Mission Valley location instead and got the best customer service. read more

I basically only leave reviews for stores when 1) the experience was awful or 2) the experience was amazing. Luckily, this was the latter. To make it short and simple, our associate, Alyssa, was extremely patient, helpful, and kind throughout our entire visit. She made sure that we got what we wanted in terms of color and style, even providing her own input on what she thought looked the best. She also expertly adjusted the two pairs of sunglasses that we purchased in addition to the pairs of sunglasses that we already owned until they were all a great fit! As for the products, we purchased Ray-Ban sunglasses that seemed up to par thus far. Will update if anything changes! read more
