They fully admitted their error but refused to take any responsibility and proffer the my they initially admitted I was owed. It started when the incompetent moron they employed in this store did not properly port my number over. Once I find the error I called their call center. The problem was fixed, they told me I'd get a refund for the 6 months of overpayment and a month on free service. The promised refund did not come. It took 4 more calls--over 2 hours each--for them to give me nothing at all. They opened two inquiries but closed them without any investigation. I was told to bring the bills from the other company to the store and they would get me the refund. Despite being my only option, I suspected they would do nothing; and I was right. I gave them the time line and was promised a callback with an update on the following Monday. They never called. I tried call multiple times but I sent to voicemail every time. Ironic that a phone store never answers the phone. I went to store and that's when everything fell apart. They began by going back on EVERYTHING they and the call center said. They blamed me for their errors and refused to take any responsibility. I was left without the promised refund and by being a feeling that they blamed me for their errors. DON'T GO TO THIS STORE. if you can get rid of AT&T.

I've purchased glasses here before and have been happy with the results. It's a small local shop with a part time optometrist, and they usually have only one or two people working in the store (both named Michael). It can be helpful to call ahead to make an appointment.

Other places I have called can get you in about a month, month and a half which is what I would expect. Dr Quang is very nice and I have seen him the last few years, but I have reservations. I was having issues reading with single Rx contacts which I use for distance. Without contacts or glasses I can read well. He saw my issue as: middle-aged, "can't read with contacts made for distance", must be presbyopia. He suggested multifocal contacts (MFCs). They were awful. Double vision, can't focus, unclear vision near or far. Rx was tweaked and new brand tried. Same issues but not as intense. After about two months wearing them everyday, my eyes and brain adjusted but the MFCs still weren't great. In late 2024 I went in for my annual. Rx changed very slightly as always and an Optoscan showed no issues. I raised my concerns about the MFCs and restated that I can read well without eyewear; distance is more my concern, but I want to use contacts. Single Rx contacts for distance are great, but they don't do well for close distance hence MFCs. I wasn't sold MFCs are the solution for me. When I proved to him I can read without eye wear/contacts, he seemed to be out of options since the middle-aged, "can't read with contacts made for distance", must be presbyopia box didn't fit me. He referred me to an ophthalmologist in Worcester which ended up being a terrible experience (long story). I left there with the resolution of: "It's the MFCs. They are awful." I decided to research a different eye care provider rather than go back to Leominster Family Eyecare (the new name) given it takes forever to get an appointment and the quality of care isn't as high as it used to be.

I needed frames for work at my computer and for reading and another pair for "walking around" with…read moresunglasses. Carol at L'Optique understood immediately what I was looking for in terms of style, something interesting but not over-the-top. She picked out a great pair of work frames that complemented my face and also picked out very resilient out-and-about frames with little side magnets to hold snap-on sunshades. Carol is an expert at configuring frames and lenses. The work frames have a reading/close-up region toward the bottom and a computer-distance region toward the top. The walking around frames have a reading/close-up region toward the bottom for reading menus and such, and the remaining portions are for distance and driving, etc. The clip-on shades are very easy to use. It's up to me not to lose them ;). The frames took a bit of time and were not inexpensive, but considering that I wear them everyday and need something well-made that would stand up to some abuse, I figure it was well worth it. Carol is great to work with and very attentive. The lenses weren't quite strong enough in the first frames (my eye doctor's prescription was a bit too weak), and she was able to get a second, stronger set without any trouble or additional cost. I'd say L'Optique is a high-end store but even so, it offers a wide price range to probably suit most budgets.
