From February through June, I tried one contact lens after another with this other practice, and they still couldn't get my prescription right. It was a nightmare! I was running out of time, contact lenses and patience, since I rely 100% on contact lenses for vision. Out of desperation, I booked a visit to Sudbury Eye Care. In contrast to the large corporate practice, Dr. Labiento: 1. Took as much time as I needed for each visit; 2. Had a huge inventory of trial contact lenses in stock, which she could tinker with as needed by applying magnifying lenses; 3. encouraged experimentation across a broad range of contact lens brands, including many boutique brands. Within a short time she had optimized my prescription, each eye with a different brand. When I showed up at Dr. Labiento's door my eyesight was so bad I couldn't legally drive. I now have 20/20 and 20/30 vision. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

Carol at L'Optique understood immediately what I was looking for in terms of style, something interesting but not over-the-top. She picked out a great pair of work frames that complemented my face and also picked out very resilient out-and-about frames with little side magnets to hold snap-on sunshades. Carol is an expert at configuring frames and lenses. The work frames have a reading/close-up region toward the bottom and a computer-distance region toward the top. The walking around frames have a reading/close-up region toward the bottom for reading menus and such, and the remaining portions are for distance and driving, etc. The clip-on shades are very easy to use. It's up to me not to lose them ;). The frames took a bit of time and were not inexpensive, but considering that I wear them everyday and need something well-made that would stand up to some abuse, I figure it was well worth it. Carol is great to work with and very attentive. The lenses weren't quite strong enough in the first frames (my eye doctor's prescription was a bit too weak), and she was able to get a second, stronger set without any trouble or additional cost. I'd say L'Optique is a high-end store but even so, it offers a wide price range to probably suit most budgets.

This time, they were actually running a 50% off special on some brand name glasses. We picked a pair and loved how it looked on my husband. Since it was 50% off, we couldn't even find a cheaper price online - believe me, I tried. I had expected the lenses would be outrageously price but they were actually quite reasonable. The staff took the time to chat with us about the different options and understood our needs. My husband got the new progressive lenses, which are apparently pretty top of the line and ultra thin. We just picked up the lenses the other day and my husband loves it. Everything was adjusted perfectly. They were even kind enough to adjust some other glasses we had around. One thing I love most about the customer service here is that they dont spread themselves too thin. When they are helping you, they are dedicated to it and don't try to take care of too many clients at a time, even if that means these new people who walk in have to wait.
