I started visiting Monterey in August of 2019. Saw a Sunglass Hut on Cannery Row and decided to get my Persol sunglasses tightened. I encountered a lovely woman named Lucia who worked there. She was so pleasant and accommodating. She obviously knew I just wanted clean and tightened glasses however as she was taking care of that she was introducing me to new lines and styles of sunglasses. Not pushy at all but I thought wow, that's cool. Since then I have moved to Monterey and have been in the store two more times. While she won't remember me, I surely remember her and her pleasant personality with a pleasant upscale sales tactic that is not intrusive but subtly makes we want to go buy my next pair of sunglasses there! I just popped into this store with hopes they could help me with a missing screw in my Ray Bans. The women working was extremely helpful and friendly, she offered to replace the screw immediately. We asked what we owed and she said nothing but informed us of a great charity called OneSight and said we could make a donation, which we did. Based off our receipt, her name was Satyn. We went in today to find a pair for my boyfriend. I'm very picky when it comes to his glasses lol, but Kylie spent close to 20 minutes with us trying on a million pairs and was so helpful and friendly! My friend wanted a new pair of shades, so we wandered in for him to make an impulse buy. He wanted to spend something like $80-100. He walks up to the girl working there and asked her if they had anything less than $100. She literally scoffed (!) and said "This isn't THAT kind of store." I couldn't help but laugh. Sorry, you are working at a sunglasses hut in a tourist trap, not the Oliver Peoples on Madison. It most definitely is "that" kind of store. We walked out. read more

It is always interesting going into a well known store in a less than known area. We were in Monterey just visiting. Well we walked in looking for some sunglasses, and no one greeted us. Three employees just standing there. A couple walked in a couple minutes after us and they were greeted right away. Interesting to say the least, so we just walked out. Lack of customer service really manners in such an establishment. We will be taking our business elsewhere where we are actually acknowledged as customers. She was able to update her glasses with the same model in a new color and got $20 off for joining the mailing list. Visited the store on 8/26/17 to return my glasses for exchange. The lady there was very rude and made sure to tell me their new return policy 4 times. She did not know how to do the return and called another store. The other store was busy so she suggested that I either go to another store or simply not return my glasses today!! Really? Just because you don't know how to use the point of sale Computer program. I ended up waiting 30 minutes for this exchange to happen. I have been buying sunglasses from Sunglasses hut for several years and have never had this poor of customer service. I would give this lady as few hours as possible until she quits. She is going to scare away customers for sure. I should mention that her co associate with the bull ring in his nose also had no clue as To how to use the register/ point of sale program to do this exchange. I was the one that finally helped them complete the transaction. Give me a damn job there!! read more

Satyn is amazing! She's friendly, professional, knowledgeable in products, and detail oriented. Satyn also replaced our old beat up cases for our previous purchases years ago.
