On 4/29/25, around 4:30pm at the Del Monte, Monterey location. I went to return my sunglasses, which I had worn once, well within the 30-day return policy, and I had the receipt. The lady at the cashier acted like I had just returned the sunglasses in the worst condition and said she could not accept them. I said they probably just need to be sprayed down and I found it ridiculous that I was unable to return them since they were worn once. , The second employee sprayed them down and handed them to the cashier, who whiped them down and they looked brand new. She did not wipe a part of them and called it a scratch. She showed the second employee and they said they could not accept the return. They said I could try to return them to where I originally bought them, which was in Cannery Row. I took their word for it since two Sunglass Hut employees should know what clean sunglasses look like and not scratched. The "scratch" ended up being a smudge that the cashier did not clean. I had to drive all the way to the other location to return them, and I explained what happened to prove that I wasn't trying to trick anyone with scratched sunglasses. I returned them without a problem at the other location. The fact that two Sunglass Hut employees can't identify a scratch from a smudge from glasses they cleaned and made me go to another location is unacceptable customer service. It's a serious problem when a corporate location will not follow the corporate return policy when everything was followed accordingly. read more

Even then you can custom order from in-store kiosk with the help of an amazing, kind and helpful employee Shauna. This already made my day. I chose in store free shipping ( arrived in a very timely manner).. Order came with sweet box, custom microfiber case of my home country. Further more an uplifting and motivating card from Oakley too. I went like 2 days ago, i was thinking about buying a ray ban wayfarer, the service is very good, they helped me selecting the right size of the sunglass and wich one goes better with my face, the price a bit too high but the good thing was that they gave me a discount so i could save some money, so i bought the wayfarer, i steped out of the store satisfied. Later, the next day i notice that the sunglasses were too tight so i came to the store and they fixed, totally free and fast. Oh my gosh, what a great customer service experience and that is rare to say these days. I went there to find replacement lenses for my very hard to find Ray Ban Wayfarer 52's. Of course they didn't have them but instead the assistant Rico told me about the " oops" warranty that I didn't know about. Because it had been less than a year I could turn in my broken glasses and they would give me 50% towards a new pair. Shauna the manager took over from there and customized the same, hard to find glasses for me with polarized lenses. She not only took care of the order but gave me 30% off using a promo for all the issues I had had previously with another sunglass hut in Macy's and all the run around. It gets better, then they were having a promo buy one, get one 50% off. So, from their amazing knowledge of store promos and products my husband and I are receiving ( my custom order is being shipped to my house) 2 brand new pairs of polarized Wayfarers for 220.00 total!! I basically got a pair for free. Merry Christmas to us. Thank you Shauna and Rico for your amazing customer service, knowledge, good mood and attentiveness for us and others that were in the store. My husband had been eyeing a pair of Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses since November; I tried my best to snag the pair he wanted for Christmas, but the style wasn't available in a polarized option. While at Del Monte we popped in to Sunglass Hut. I reallllly wish I had the salesclerks name; she was super great! My husband tried on the frames he wanted, and was torn when he found out that the style STILL wasn't available in polarized lenses (he thought he'd get lucky). The clerk checked online, but she just verified what I already knew. My husband was bummed, but he really wanted a pair of sunglasses. He kept browsing and the clerk overheard him say, "I guess I'll just get these." She told him, "If you really want polarized lenses, don't settle for something else. Have you seen similar styles by Armani? Why not try these on?" She guided him to try on a pair of Armani, some Ray-Bans, and a pair of Versace frames. Guess what? He actually liked the Versace frames! The salesclerk and I both thought they were better than my husband's favorite pair, so he ended up getting them. He was feeling generous, so he also purchased a pair of Versace frames I'd been wearing throughout the store. The clerk gave us a discount, and we left happy. YAY! read more

My husband and I stopped here on the way to an event today because he forgot his sunglasses at home. We got here 20 minutes before the stores opened (10:00am) and we were definitely aware of that, so we hung out and waited, no big deal. Near the open time (9:57am), we see a rep walking up with her coffee and purse, obviously super late to open the store. But it still wasn't 10 so we're not complaining. It's 10:02 and she's talking on the phone, still prepping for the store to open. Finally at 10:05 she acknowledges the 3 people standing outside and yells behind the cashier counter with closed doors that it'll be another 10 minutes. What?!! We're extremely disappointed with our experience and we didn't even go inside! She could be the best sales person and super sweet, and also could be having a bad morning - believe me, we get that! But at least have the decency to apologize to the customers that have been waiting there longer than you started your days shift. And I get it you're probably thinking "it's only 15 minutes". We're just annoyed that the sales rep started her day late and then shrugged it off like it wasn't a big deal, and we should be waiting for her. All the Sunglass Huts I've been to have had very professional standards for their associates, including how they dress (camo shirt and yoga pants - not appropriate) and speak to customers - not this one. read more

I have purchased from Sunglass Hut in general several times and I have always liked their selection. My friend had been bragging how nice Del Monte Shopping Center was and that it had amazing stores. I saw Sunglass Hut and immediately made up my mind that I was going to buy and replace the pair I had lost a few months back. I go inside and start looking with the hope to find the pair I had originally purchased. Not once was my friend or I acknowledged by the two employees that were there at the store. Now, there was other people there before us and were actually going to buy merchandise, so I get that they were busy. But I was there for a solid 15 minutes, and not a single, " We will be right with you" or an acknowledgement that I was there. Now, I don't know if me and my friend were being profiled or judged by the way we were dressed, but my friend had a nice Louis Vatton purse that was well over $1,200 that it would stand out anywhere. So at least one of us wasn't homeless. One of the employees at one moment during the time I was there was not busy and walked right past her and did not say a word. Once I realized that we weren't the kind of customers they actually spoke to we couldn't leave fast enough. I felt uncomfortable and will make sure everyone I know hears about this. I will never set foot in this store again. I have no problem buying at Sunglass Hut from my hometown in Modesto for respect and a store that is far superior to what Sunglass Hut in Monterey has to offer. read more

Lots & Lots of Sunglasses Here! OK, I was here the other day to buy a new pair of Oakleys. The young blonde lady working here was very nice and helpful. She even let me take the shades outside the store and down the sidewalk a little ways where the sun was shining so I could try the lenses out better! I returned and I noticed what appeared to be a customer looking at their selection...I kept doing a double take (without looking like a fool staring at her) because I swore she was an identical twin to the lady helping me but I couldn't really tell for sure. After trying many other similar styles, I finally settled on the Oakley Half Jacket 2.0 brown, polarized shades (see pic I uploaded if your really bored...lol). The very nice blonde lady told me that I could return them for exchange or refund up to 90 days! I paid for them and left the store, then I noticed the two blonde ladies leave the store together (presumably going to lunch)...haha... They were Twins! I am very happy with my new shades, and their 90 day return policy is great! read more

A few months ago my husband and I bought two sunglasses here. We walked in and spent quite a bit of time here, initially just looking for glasses for myself but ended getting him glasses as well. I remember at the time the staff being very helpful, patient and nice. I ended up buying Versace glasses and my husband bought Ray Bans. Anyhow, after about 2 months of very limited use I noticed one of the emblems on the side of my glasses fell off. There are I believe 3 little Versace emblems on each side of the glasses and on one side one of the emblems fell off and of course now my couple hundred dollar glasses look cheap and tacky. I was really bothered by this 1) obviously when you spend a few bills on some glasses you expect the quality to be high 2) the very limited use I had of the glasses should not have brought that about. So since I live in the Bay area (my family lives in Monterey which is what brought me out that way in Monterey) I found a Sunglass Hut in Walnut Creek and walked in to see what I could do about my glasses. I explained to them I no longer have my receipt and they said that was fine they would just look up my info in the computer. When they tried to look me up none of my info came up which was odd to me so I suggested I could pull up my credit card statement and show them I purchased glasses from the Sunglass Hut. It would have showed the total for the glasses my husband bought which he was wearing (right there in the store) the pair that I had purchased that was defective. They could have easily looked at the stock number of the glasses my husband was wearing for the price and my defective glasses I had and would have seen that it would have been a correlating total. They told me they could not do that because my credit card statement wouldn't show what item I actually purchased. They were polite, but told me there was nothing they could do for me without a receipt or information in the system. They said I could try calling an 800 number (or some number to their customer service) and explain the situation to them; but it wasn't likely they would be able to do anything. They said if they were able to do something they might be able to send the arm of the glasses to replace the defective arm and they would replace it in the store IF THEY WERE ABLE TO DO something. Or they may be able to allow me to purchase another pair for half off or something like that; which is not service to me because I am still paying more money for something that should have been already of quality to begin with. And paying 50% off is still just Sunglass Hut covering themselves at having me pay for something which is at cost to them or at cost with still a slight margin and with them claiming they provided me "service". And that's not service to me. Anyhow, I walked out of the Walnut Creek store frustrated and disappointed. I felt stupid at spending a couple hundred bucks on some glasses that now looked like a raggedy pair of dollar store glasses. I was pretty much done with the glasses. This past wknd I went down to visit my parents again and my husband and I had some time to kill and decided to go to the mall. At some point we passed Sunglass Hut and I decided to go see if they had me in their system since I bought them there and to see if I had any recourse for my glasses. I went inside and explained the story to a lady and she tried to look me up and didn't find me. I was frustrated again and communicated all of the above. The lady told me she was the manager her name was Sahar and apologized to me for the ordeal I went through in Walnut Creek and that they should have replaced the glasses for me. She communicated that sometimes people can enter the info wrong with an incorrect digit or letter, which can throw off their search in the system. She told me service is their number one priority and if I bring the damaged pair in she would exchange them. I WAS SHOCKED AND ESTATIC! I didn't know if I had the glasses with me but I went to my car and searched for them and found them. I brought them back into the store; she took all my information and correctly put it in the computer and exchanged the glasses. And from there I was in full gratitude of her service and that I didn't feel jipped. And I am not sure why the Walnut Creek store would be so hesitant to exchange my glasses. The Monterey store took all my information name, address, email address and put it in the computer. If I were some sort of thief I wouldn't be willing to divulge such information for the store to have. I would have gladly showed them my I.D. I am so thankful for Sahar's service at Sunglass Hut. I am now willing to dish out the money again for a nice pair of glasses but next time I am going to be sure they enter my info in the computer correctly. This particular store is awesome. read more

(June 20th 8pm.)I first went into Macy's to buy some Ray Bans. But the young woman turned me away because she closed up 10 minutes early. Great service right? Anyway, I went into this Sunglass Hut instead and I AM SO GLAD I DID!! There were two women in there that had such great personalities. Very social. Very polite. Great sales women. Great everything. I am so glad I was turned away at Macy's. Their service was spectacular. Thank you ladies for making my experience enjoyable and fun! I will be back for more ONLY at this store! read more
