I can't believe I haven't left a review for this practice yet! I've been a patient for over 7 years now and have had great luck. Their prices are reasonable and they're very knowledgeable on insurances and rebates available. I use the Oasis dailies after having trouble with the two week contacts and will never go back. They communicate via text message as well which is so convenient for me, as soon as I realize I need more contacts I shoot them a text and I don't have to worry about calling during office hours. read more

I am giving four stars for the highly professional and personable care I have received from Dr. Barseghian for the past 8 years. I would give her a 5 star rating. She is very knowledgeable and discusses the health of my eyes and vision as an equally intelligent person--not talking down to me. She lets me know the cost of any procedures in advance and gives me an honest appraisal of how important it is. I have complete faith in her expertise. I took one star off because of the cost of their glasses and lenses. They are really expensive and even though my insurance pays for one free pair every two years it invariably costs quite a bit more unless you want to choose from a very small selection. I recommend going here for your care but taking your prescription and buying the glasses elsewhere. read more

I have made four visits to Hattori Vision Optometry in the past few weeks and have been very pleased with the service and skill of the staff and the optometrist. One child needed an eyeglass check, another needed a check for contact lenses, and I was updating my eyeglasses and looking into contact lenses. We had a visit each time with Dr. Covie Gonzales and he was terrific. He had a kind, easy-going demeanor and easily built a rapport with my children. I appreciated the fact he tailored the exams to the needs of the individual; that is, while there were clearly elements common to all the exams, there were some that were specifically designed to work with my young son. Dr. Gonzales took the time needed to conduct a thorough exam and never rushed; he tried different options to be sure to find the best solution. I generally hate going for eye exams. I hate having drops put into my eyes. Nor do I like them being dilated so I usually put it off. My visit with Dr Covie Gonzales changed my outlook. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, answered my questions. He had zero trouble getting drops in my eyes. The process was smooth. I will gladly return for my regular exams! They also have a great selection of eyewear and parking. New patient forms are available online. I like that. I'd rather fill out forms at home than try to rush through them. I've had an excellent experience at Hattori Vision Optometry. I first stopped by in April 2016 and was seen by Dr. Gonzales. It's definitely a mom and pops shop with a great selection of eye wear.The staff is friendly, attentive, and personable. I recently broke my glasses, 6 months after receiving them, and decided to call Hattori to ask about the model of the glasses. To my surprise there was a one year guarantee and got the frames replaced free of charge. The only concern was that I live in NYC and wouldn't be able to stop by in person. I was assisted by Hiromi. Dr. Fogg has excellent rapport with patients. He gets five stars for "bedside" manner, communication, attitude, etc. But I don't like some of the other practices that take place at Hattori. First of all, what kind of medical practice has their door locked 15 minutes before a patient's appointment? I shouldn't have to wait out in the elements because you can't unlock your door a few minutes early. You want people to show up on time for their appts, then treat them with some respect & dignity--not a locked door! The other thing I don't like is being immediately taken to the optical (glasses) counter after the exam. I realize this is probably how they make ends meet, but I'd rather let my pupils constrict to their normal size and my brain relax after the exam, rather than making an important--and expensive--decision under duress. read more

I went yesterday to get my eyes checked after 5 years. I saw Dr. Covie Gonzales and I have never understood the condition of my eyes better than after he explained them to me! It was so nice to be explained in a non-dumbed down way exactly why my vision is the way it is (I have astigmatism). I never understood it before. Dr. Covie was very nice and easy to talk to. My experience at Hattori Vision has been great, so far. The doctor I worked with was knowlegeable and was really easy to talk to. The office staff was very friendly and eager to help. I'm still in process of getting my frames and lenses from them and I hope that goes smoothly. I'm a bit worried after looking at R.F.'s review. The only problem I had with my appointment was that I had to wait quite a long time between my basic eye tests and then seeing the doctor for the rest of the appointment. I went in for a comprehensive exam at 3:50 and didn't get out of the office until 5:15. I almost feel asleep in the waiting room in the middle of the appointment. read more
