Very nice and give you special attention while you are there. They do appointment only so very few people are there at a time and there is not too much wait time read more

Just the most experienced eye doctor who puts in the extra time to make you be able to see 20/20! Friendly staff too! read more

Dr Gonzales was so helpful with a problem i am having. He has directed me to a surgeon for a second opinion. So grateful!

Best customer service of any optometrist around. They offer a wide variety of products. I strongly recommend. read more

Dr. Gonzales is fantastic! I cannot recommend him and the Hattori staff enough. I had a recent eye exam and Dr. Gonzales explained why I was having certain issues with my vision and how we were going to try to resolve those issues. The best part is that he explained our plan in a way that I could understand (he used visual aids - BRILLIANT). I now have my new contact lenses and my new computer glasses, and my headaches have stopped. read more

Love this doctor and his staff is friendly. He checks up throughly and does the necessary exams for you eyes. He is very knowledgeable.

I can't believe I haven't left a review for this practice yet! I've been a patient for over 7 years now and have had great luck. Their prices are reasonable and they're very knowledgeable on insurances and rebates available. I use the Oasis dailies after having trouble with the two week contacts and will never go back. They communicate via text message as well which is so convenient for me, as soon as I realize I need more contacts I shoot them a text and I don't have to worry about calling during office hours. read more

I am giving four stars for the highly professional and personable care I have received from Dr. Barseghian for the past 8 years. I would give her a 5 star rating. She is very knowledgeable and discusses the health of my eyes and vision as an equally intelligent person--not talking down to me. She lets me know the cost of any procedures in advance and gives me an honest appraisal of how important it is. I have complete faith in her expertise. I took one star off because of the cost of their glasses and lenses. They are really expensive and even though my insurance pays for one free pair every two years it invariably costs quite a bit more unless you want to choose from a very small selection. I recommend going here for your care but taking your prescription and buying the glasses elsewhere. read more

Loved this place! Dr. Anderson and her staff are awesome. She listened to all my concerns and left feeling great about my visit. Glad I came. I recommend to any looking for a good optometrist. You won't regret giving Dr.Anderson and her staff a try :) read more

I have made four visits to Hattori Vision Optometry in the past few weeks and have been very pleased with the service and skill of the staff and the optometrist. One child needed an eyeglass check, another needed a check for contact lenses, and I was updating my eyeglasses and looking into contact lenses. We had a visit each time with Dr. Covie Gonzales and he was terrific. He had a kind, easy-going demeanor and easily built a rapport with my children. I appreciated the fact he tailored the exams to the needs of the individual; that is, while there were clearly elements common to all the exams, there were some that were specifically designed to work with my young son. Dr. Gonzales took the time needed to conduct a thorough exam and never rushed; he tried different options to be sure to find the best solution. The office staff is also very professional and pleasant. read more

I went to Hattori after receiving less than customer friendly care from an opthalmologist in another office. Everyone here is super kind, knowledgeable and really well organized. Hatts off to Mai in particular. Plus, they have an extensive selection of glasses. read more

For as long as I can remember, an eye doctor was just an eye doctor... no big deal. That is not the case here. My daughter and I saw Dr. Corvie Gonzales and he was fantastic!! Very easy to talk to, very patient and thorough, and really cared about the end result. The woman who did my intake and initial testing was so fun and sweet!! An absolute joy to talk with. The team up front helped me with billing questions and helped to find a couple great pairs of glasses I love. Absolutely good service and a great team from start to finish. I have already recommended this group to others and likely always will!! read more

Absolute peace of mind. Amiable, professional and impeccable place and staff. I absolutely love this practice. Dr. Covie is the best. He is very knowledgeable and explains your exam throughly and kindly. You feel safe and comfortable from the moment you are received at the door. The staff is absolutely wonderful. Place is almost sterile and they have a great system in place fully following our current COVID-19 restrictions. Congrats Dr. Covie on your practice! Best wishes and I look forward to continue receiving the best eye care at Hattori Vision. Thank you kindly for the best service. Best Optometry practice in Monterey! read more

This place is AMAZING! I really felt taken care of when I went in. I had an absolutely horrible experience at another glasses place in Monterey earlier in the week and I should've gone to Hattori first. read more

My appointment with Dr. Gonzales was awesome! Very smooth and informative exam. He's super easygoing and willing to explain everything to you. Stephanie also did a great job checking me in and doing the preliminary tests. I was wowed by some of the machines being used. So hi-tech! Nice, clean office. I will definitely come back while I'm in this area. read more

I generally hate going for eye exams. I hate having drops put into my eyes. Nor do I like them being dilated so I usually put it off. My visit with Dr Covie Gonzales changed my outlook. He was knowledgeable, easy to talk to, answered my questions. He had zero trouble getting drops in my eyes. The process was smooth. I will gladly return for my regular exams! They also have a great selection of eyewear and parking. New patient forms are available online. I like that. I'd rather fill out forms at home than try to rush through them. The office staff was inviting. Overall, a wonderful atmosphere. read more

I started wearing glasses when I was 9, and in all the years since I have never had better care than that of Dr. Covie Gonzales. More than being an excellent optometrist, and more than taking an interest in you as a patient, when working with Covie it truly feels like you are a member of his family. I would absolutely recommend him as the first choice for anyone needing optical care. read more

I've had an excellent experience at Hattori Vision Optometry. I first stopped by in April 2016 and was seen by Dr. Gonzales. It's definitely a mom and pops shop with a great selection of eye wear. The staff is friendly, attentive, and personable. I recently broke my glasses, 6 months after receiving them, and decided to call Hattori to ask about the model of the glasses. To my surprise there was a one year guarantee and got the frames replaced free of charge. The only concern was that I live in NYC and wouldn't be able to stop by in person. I was assisted by Hiromi. She did an amazing job with making sure I received my glasses. My whole experience has been positive. I highly recommend Hattori Vision Optometry! Best, Eli read more

Dr. Fogg has excellent rapport with patients. He gets five stars for "bedside" manner, communication, attitude, etc. But I don't like some of the other practices that take place at Hattori. First of all, what kind of medical practice has their door locked 15 minutes before a patient's appointment? I shouldn't have to wait out in the elements because you can't unlock your door a few minutes early. You want people to show up on time for their appts, then treat them with some respect & dignity--not a locked door! The other thing I don't like is being immediately taken to the optical (glasses) counter after the exam. I realize this is probably how they make ends meet, but I'd rather let my pupils constrict to their normal size and my brain relax after the exam, rather than making an important--and expensive--decision under duress. read more

I went yesterday to get my eyes checked after 5 years. I saw Dr. Covie Gonzales and I have never understood the condition of my eyes better than after he explained them to me! It was so nice to be explained in a non-dumbed down way exactly why my vision is the way it is (I have astigmatism). I never understood it before. Dr. Covie was very nice and easy to talk to. Afterward was the fun bit, I got to look at their selection of glasses frames, and I was so happy to see so many fun choices and designer brands! Matt expertly helped me with frame selection and every single pair he tried on me was flattering and fun; he really thinks about the shape of your face and your overall style. I found a super unique pair from Cinzia, and I can't wait for them to arrive :) Thank you! read more

After many years of struggling with my eyes, I finally found dr. G. Not only was the staff friendly and accommodating, but they have the latest technology in contacts. The doctor is extremely knowledgable and will change the way you live your life...turning poor vision into perfection. If you want a genius and skilled Doctor working on your eyes.. This is the place! Please take a bit of advice... Don't go to just anyone for your eyes... Go to the most qualified.. Go to dr g! read more

Hattori Vision is superior in every way to any other eye care provider I've ever been to, and I've been wearing glasses for nearly 60 years. Both Dr. Gonzales and Dr. Anderson are thorough and forthcoming, taking the time to listen, share their knowledge and explain their findings and treatments. The optometry staff are so friendly and courteous, all the time, and they go out of their way to get your glasses made exactly as you want them. They re-ordered a prescription for me when it wasn't what I was expecting, and they recently followed through with a free replacement of damaged lenses. You will not find better quality, service, or value than they offer at Hattori Vision. read more

Dr. Anderson takes her time doing the eye exam, ensuring it is accurate. She is so wonderful and friendly. Over the top customer service from Richard, my whole experience was amazing. They don't try to oversell you on frames, they offered me a $99 special which included frames and lenses with whatever special stuff they do to them. Best optometrist I've ever been to, they actually care about your eyes; the patients come first rather than the almighty dollar. read more

The experience was awesome. The personnel are attentive, optometrists know their jobs, the service is very timely with excellent post-visit customer service. I had an issue regarding payment, yes. However, they went above and beyond to correct it. As is the case with people, businesses also make mistakes. I am still their patient and my whole family get their eye exams there. This place is as good as it gets. I strongly recommend them. read more

I was happy with my optometrist, but the drive to Ryan Ranch proved to be a hassle because of the horrible traffic. I decided to try this office and I'm very pleased. It's a busy operation, compared to the one doctor place I left (on good terms). However, they have real state-of-the-art equipment and I felt that Dr. Anderson was very thorough and pleasant. They have a LARGE selection of frames and Matt hooked me up with a stylish new pair. Great experience-- and don't forget to check in on Yelp! You get a sweet little welcome gift! read more

Today was my first eye exam ever and I had it with Dr.Covie. He was so knowledgeable and able to explain my eye functions and vision in a way I was able to comprehend. He made sure I was comfortable throughout the exam, took his time and was able to answer all of my questions. Matt helped me pick out my lenses and was super helpful and awesome. They have a great selection of brands such as Tom ford, Valentino, marc Jacobs and many others! I highly recommend this office, they will take great care of you! read more

The most friendly, professional, fast service. I immediately felt I was dealing with friends. I brought in a pair of vintage frames no one else would touch. Hattori Vision has taken superb care of my eye health and vision needs for many years now. The office is very efficient, and the staff are competent and professional. My experience at Hattori Vision has been great, so far. The doctor I worked with was knowlegeable and was really easy to talk to. The office staff was very friendly and eager to help. I'm still in process of getting my frames and lenses from them and I hope that goes smoothly. I'm a bit worried after looking at R.F.'s review. The only problem I had with my appointment was that I had to wait quite a long time between my basic eye tests and then seeing the doctor for the rest of the appointment. I went in for a comprehensive exam at 3:50 and didn't get out of the office until 5:15. I almost feel asleep in the waiting room in the middle of the appointment. read more

I received excellent care and service from Dr. Gonzales and the staff at Hattori Vision. His exam was thorough, quick and effective. His bedside manner is very relaxed and comfortable, but it is apparent he is laser focused on finding the right prescription. I was thoroughly impressed with Dr. G and the staff. read more

I was floored at how awesome every staff member was when I visited Hattori!!! The gal at that greets you and tests you is the perfect person for her job. Dr. Gonzales actually made my appointment so enjoyable and has a wonderful personality, yet he is super smart and on top of latest technology and trends. And Matt, who helped out with my frames is a total sweet heart, has great taste (you can tell by just looking at him) and is extremely efficient. It takes a lot for me to take time out of my extremely busy day to write a Yelp review. But how could I not praise a business where every employee sincerely loves their job. So happy to have found them. You will not be disappointed. read more

Dr Covie was outstanding - I walked away feeling valued as a client, confident in my diagnosis and assessment, and very satisfied in the outcome of the service! He explained all of the test results and was patient with my questions. He was a very attentive listener and did not rush things. I am happy waiting my turn for future appointments because I know the quality of service that he brings to every client. read more
