I unfortunately am not able to rate this store negatively, but if I could, I would. I was in today shopping with my friend, who purchased two pairs of sunglasses. As soon as we walked in, the middle eastern lady with the head scarf, who seemed to be the only employee in the store, immediately began giving my friend dirty looks. As we were trying on a pair of dirty glasses that we wiped with our shirt, she so rudely raised her voice and said don't wipe those they are going to get damaged. We put them down and walked away. She proceeded to show me Meta Glasses and when I asked her if they could translate to Armenian, she looked to my friend with disgust and said no rudely and walked away. It is no mystery as to why this employee was so rude. As soon as she figured out my friend was an Armenian Christian, she couldn't help but externalize her racism. After countless dirty looks and rolling her eyes, we headed to checkout. When my friend kindly asked her to remove the warranty, she said "I will relax." Hearing that, we were both taken aback. My friend said "excuse me?" and she proceeded to lie about how we were actually the rude ones. We told her to pull up the cameras and she continued laughing. I then got involved and told her there was no reason to say relax or "don't wipe the glasses" so rudely. I told her we ignored the many dirty looks and would have avoided this confrontation altogether had she not said relax. When asking for her name or a manager, she refused. However, the top of our receipt included her name, Fatima. I hope management of this store or the Westfield Institution handles this issue properly because ignoring countless complaints about the same employee is encouraging racism and aggression, which is completely unacceptable. I hope some resolution can be reached, this behavior is just sad. read more

My experience here at Sunglass Hut was great. I went yesterday afternoon around 12pm. The guy there who helped me was very knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I came out w very cute Ray- Ban Black glasses which are polarized too. I would def recommend this location to my family and friends. I know glasses can be expensive, but why not get good quality ones? I would definitely come back. read more

I went into the Century City store to return a pair of Ray-Bans that I'd bought in the Beverly Hills store (ugh!) and the salesperson, Fatima, could not have been more helpful. Not only was the return process fast and smooth but she also cleaned and adjusted my old Ray-Bans at no charge. I couldn't have asked for a better in-store experience! read more

Called on Monday to discuss about a rude experience that happened on Monday at the village location only to not Hear a phone call back at all this week. I called on Thursday to follow up and they were useless. Let's start off by saying I got a gift from this hellish company and the frame had a knick in it. You would think that you can just return it at any store! Nope! You have to go to the original one (50 miles away) and they MAY give you 50% for the glasses! How is that possible! You sold me a fucked up pair and you dare decide that you are going to take half of the value away?! I'm never EVER going to recommend this place to anyone. Horrible way to get people in your store! Hi. My name is Alex Flores. I purchased a pair of Gucci, Prada and Versace sunglasses on August 3rd from your store in Santa Monica. I spent just under $1000. I was told if I wasn't satisfied to return them within 30 days. I went to the Culver City store and was informed that they could not take them back because of a tiny scratch. I'm a big believer if you cause something then own it. The salesperson did not show me the condition of the glasses before I bought them. He was in a hurry to get to the next customer. The salesman over at the Culver City location also informed me that the case was incomplete. I'm very disappointed with my experience and I feel like I'm getting stuck with $450 Gucci glasses that I don't feel comfortable wearing. Please help me. . Thanks. read more

In past years, I enjoyed Sunglass Hut. I have purchased several pairs of expensive ones. Yesterday afternoon, I visited the store to buy some Ray Ban Aviators for my son. The man who claimed to be the store manger was rude and disrespectful to me. All I did was ask if they price matched and, when the answer was no, if they would slightly discount the sunglasses. Instead of a simple and polite answer, I was treated to a tirade about how if he discounted the glasses he would be fired and needed this job to pay his bills. Wow. I really like this store. I came by here several months ago to get a new pair of sunglasses. I got a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and the service was great! The salesperson was polite, patient, and very helpful. She was great about adjusting the glasses that I was interested in and made them fit perfectly for me. No complaints. A few days ago, I was at a friend's house for a BBQ. I put the glasses in my pocket and was sitting in a lawn chair and got up and accidentally popped the lens out of my sunglasses without breaking them thankfully. I managed to pop it back in, but the alignment was still off. I swung by the store with my receipt ready to prove that I had bought it here. I was met by the salesperson who promptly fixed and adjusted my glasses so that the lens back into the frame properly. She then went on to clean them so there were no traces of any fingerprints on them. What I liked was that she fixed my sunglasses promptly without asking if I purchased them there and didn't even ask for the receipt even though I brought it along for proof. In addition, she did it with no complaints and no charge. I really appreciated it. She was pleasant and efficient and I left with a nice smile on my face and my eyes properly protected from the hot summer sun. A great experience from the store! Thumbs WAY up! read more

Sunglass Hut has been around as long as I've been buying sunglasses. Popped into this location just the other day because I had lost a particularly expensive pair of Oakley's. The nice folks there were more than ready to help me and located / rang up my order quickly and efficiently. They had all the latest styles and the interior of the store was spotless. One thing worth mentioning is that Sunglass Hut has a 90 day return policy. So if you get the heeby-jeebies about a pair of glasses that you liked, you can always return them. I dig this location - would definitely come back here for more designer glasses. read more

Don't bother. In this day of retailers fighting for your business, Sunglass Hut refuses to return any gift cards that you have purchased. They don't write that on the receipt or the gift card and don't mention anything at checkout, but then say it's company policy. I would prefer to spend my money at a retailer who backs their products. read more

wow, some crazy differences of opinions here. It seems some people have never worked retail before. Michael M, I guess does not realize that we don't live in a country that barters for prices, I supposed the store also would not exchange 2 of his chickens for a new pair of glasses. Steve Q...maybe the company has a standard of what volume the music is set at, and the employee was not able to turn the music down. In California gift cards unless under a certain amount are not returnable. I have shopped at this store many times and have always been given great service. Beth is a great employee and I look forward to seeing her each time I am in the mall even if I am not shopping for glasses I stop in to say hello. He was very resourceful (sourced replacement parts for me from a broken pair of glasses), professional (took my info and called me back exactly as promised) and friendly (welcomed me to the store and was eager to help). the reason y i'm giving 4 stars is cuz of their awesome return policy. basically as long as u have the receipt n the glasses, u can return or exchange within 90 days...even if it's broken! this hasn't happened to me, but i thought that was pretty cool and it def makes me wanna purchase from them again, just in case... the employees at this store were really great and nice, the only thing is is their selection isn't all that great. read more

The guy working this store today was very rude. Said he didn't know how to even turn the radio down to speak to me. I guess I should go easy on him if he is so incompetent that he can't turn a radio down, but the rudeness is not expalined by being dumb. In general I've found SH to be pretty reliable, and I've gotten several pairs of sunglasses there over the years. This location made me question ever going back. I went in with a specific pair in mind, which I called ahead to make sure they had. I was told they did, and in my size, and that they'd put it aside for me as I'd be in later that day. When I did go in they a) didn't have them in stock at all and b) never put them aside for me. The manager just shrugged and said she wasn't working earlier so she couldn't be sure what happened. I went and checked my phone to make sure I was in the same store I'd called. I redailed and the phone in the store rang as I was standing there. Another shrug.
