    Cold turkey sandwich
    Jaime C.

A hidden gem well worth finding! My cold turkey sandwich was NOTHING like the turkey sandwich of my childhood. Absolutely bursting with flavor! Kinda pricey, but I know I'm paying for local, homegrown goodness.

    This disgusting place.

I'm so disgusted that a restaurant! The food was mediocre and it's unfortunate they aren't educated on their beliefs! We ordered food, the server that took our order was giving us attitude the whole time because my 5yo son has a severe dairy allergy. She was clearly annoyed that he can't eat cream cheese which would hospitalize him since he has a true allergy. The ambiance is disgusting controversial and made me uncomfortable. I don't come to eat to see extremists point of view. Completely distorted my experience. If I saw it from the beginning I would have never stepped foot inside this place. I wish I would have known before we came here. Would have never supported this place with a dollar of my money. I was so excited about this place. So incredibly disappointed. As a Jew, I will never in my life support such antisemitism. Never coming back ever again.

    Baguette

Very rude staff. Wish I could leave "zero" stats. No one said "hello" or anything when I walked in the door. In fact, it appeared my presence was bothering the person behind the counter. She was extremely unfriendly and unpleasant. The baguettes were BURNT and hard as a brick. When I said I thought they were burned she looked at me like I was something on the bottom of her shoe. Yuck. You could kill a person if you hit them in the head with one of these hockey sticks. I think the worst part was how horrible the staff were. The overall vibe was as if someone had just died. WILL NEVER GO BACK. So disappointed.

The pastry case is stacked: a wide range of sweet and savory options, all baked in-house, plus a small rotating menu of heartier plates that make it easy to do either a light bite or a full breakfast/lunch. Bonus points for the strong vegetarian lineup and frequent vegan options--my go-tos are the black bean roll and the tomato pie. The baristas are friendly, service is quick and efficient, and the space itself is incredibly comfortable. Set in an old house with thoughtful decor, it has classic coffeehouse vibes (no cold, industrial feel here), making it equally good for meeting friends or settling in to get work done. There's also plenty of outdoor seating and a great backyard. On top of all that, Urban Foxes serves a solid selection of local craft beers and hard seltzers and really leans into community--regular pop-ups, art markets, and music shows ranging from punk to hip hop. Pro tip: grab a free zine on your way in. This place does a lot, and it does it well.

Ordered at counter and the person taking order seemed to care less if I was there. Food was good. It always has been solid. But this visit, it was nothing special. My friend loves the classic New York style. I've also had KingCake here! It was so good and fresh. I'm typically picky about King Cake, but I definitely recommend. They also have cookies, muffins, scones, and more. Food - Breakfast OMG! So many choices - Biscuits & gravy, omlettes, low carb bowls with plenty of protein and veggies, avocado toast, breakfast burrito, etc. Honestly, I don't think you can go wrong. Atmosphere - It's chill depending on when you come. Just know the weekends are super busy, so make sure you get there early. You can post inside the cafe, on the patio, or in tables throughout Banner Hall which houses Lumeria book store and some other boutique shops. Prices on food are reasonable. One slice of cheesecake is a little pricey, but it's a large slice and honestly worth it. Overall, this is my favorite place to get breakfast in Jackson!

This gem is actually an old home, converted into a beautiful destination for all things yummy. I hate that I left my phone charging in the car, and didn't capture the beauty before me. The cupcakes, cookies, petit fours and other baked goods are very resonably priced. I believe my cupcake was about $2.75. I also purchased a few cookies, including a homemade Girl Scout Tagalong cookie. Which is shortbread, spread with peanut butter and covered in chocolate. It was quite good...better than the GS version. I noticed lots of seating. I'd bet that this would be a great venue for a ladie's tea. So cute!

Yummy! Cookies to die for!…read more We bought a few flavors of cookies to share (maybe?): lemon, peanut butter, chocolate chip, snicker doodle and oatmeal. So chewy, fresh with that slight crunch on the outside. The gem was the tagalong cookie. Holy moly! The baker is a saint to have put together sumptuous shortbread and smooth peanut butter then blessing the whole thing in chocolate. Melts in your moth and fills your world with gooey joy! (Would they consider making it with crunchy peanut butter or maybe almond butter?) We've OD'd on sweets for today, so we'll have to come back and indulge in the cupcakes and brownies. Very friendly staff. Clean spaces. Lots of seating area (was super quiet on a Saturday morning). Small parking lot.
