We came here for brunch on recommendations from some locals. You pay and order at the counter/front and they bring you out back to their beautiful patio garden out back. It's a lovely scene with lush decorations and a fountain in the middle. For being pretty full on a weekday morning, the food came out impressively fast. Everything we had was spectacular. I'm not often happy with the espresso drinks at brunch places, but their latte came with a rich full-bodied espresso. We had their Spring Scramble, Breakfast Burrito, and Oat Waffle which were all beautifully plated, delicious, and unique. Brought water, refilled water, brought hot sauce (homemade) and just super nice. Must be a great place to work. We all enjoyed our meals. I had the Golden Bowl with a poached egg. The others had the cauliflower wrap add bacon, grilled cheese and the breakfast burrito. The bread for the grilled cheese was sour and crispy. The cheese was gooey and mild. The breakfast burrito was huge, would have liked a little more egg and less potatoes. The watermelon frosé was good. The lavender sparkling wine was a little too sweet. A must have cute brunch spot in Sonoma, CA: 1. The wait gets crazy after 11am so make sure you plan accordingly, there's a wait and the lines get long. 2. The outdoor patio seating is so adorable and cute. The yellow theme chairs and the sunflowers every where is so cute, unique, and consistent. 3. You will never understand how lovely this place is unless you eat here. I have walked past this place many times but finally went with a friend. There is usually a line. It does move quickly though because you order first and then you are seated. I was overwhelmed with the menu because I was debating between four different items and then debating between two cocktails. all the options sounded like it would hit the spot. I ended up getting the chia seed pudding with berries and bee pollen. My friend got a breakfast sandwich and we both got drinks with pretty flower petals. Love the system they have of ordering in the front and then they bring the food to your table. It makes the entire process quick and easy. Not sure if this was their process pre-COVID, but it's def something they should keep in practice. The pictures of the food look better than it tastes. The outdoor patio is beautiful and had plenty of space. The portions of the food was definitely generous. My friend who ordered the oat waffle was not satisfied as he said it was a bit dry. I got the biscuit scramble sandwich which is huge! Def a fork and knife type of dish, not something you can pick up and eat like a sandwich. It was good, but I def needed hot sauce to accompany it. My other friend loved and finished her all american breakfast which I probably should've gotten looking back. The waitress who brought us our drinks left a bad taste in my mouth and we never saw her again through our dining experience. Maybe she was having a rough morning. There's an up charge for everything and they didn't even bring out all of our food. Had to sit on the front patio with no proper shade. A very 'sunny' place for breakfast! There was a line on a Saturday morning, but we didn't mind. They have you scan your menu choices, then find a seat in their back patio. There were lots of tasty choices, including a huge breakfast burrito covered in green chile sauce, filled with eggs, cheese, potatoes, onions, and more (good for vegans); a seasonal scramble with squash and goat cheese, avocado toast with cucumber, and my delicious pick-- the flaky buttermilk biscuit sandwich with folded eggs, cheddar, and a nice aioli mixture (you can add bacon, ham, avocado or sausage, too). A long queue had always deterred us from lining up at Sunflower Caffe, which has been on my list to go to in Sonoma. There was a bit of line on a warm Labor Day Holiday, surprisingly though, not as long as I've seen in the past. Score! They have the ordering system pat down. While in line, you can peruse the menu by scanning the code painted on the flower on the pavement, or when you get closer a menu is available up front along with specials. Once you reach the front, you place your order and pay, and they will seat you. We ordered the chicken and waffles with duck trimmings + smoked duck sandwich, avo toast, and summer sangria. Everything was nice. On the waffles, you get one piece of small chicken atop the waffles with two eggs - which I was expecting to have a little more chicken, but it was fine. There was plenty of avo to go around and it was pretty filing on the toast. My husby enjoyed the smoked duck sandwich which the server recommended. It didn't disappoint. Pretty big portion too. The garden eatery at the back is just lovely with a fountain center with sunflowers floating. Service was pretty quick, and friendly staff. To close out the meal, we had a swirl of the Buffalo milk ice cream and it was wonderful, and some Chaname wine to take home. Don't get too discouraged if you see a line since it goes pretty fast. When my husband and I got married nine years ago, we came to Sonoma for a short honeymoon since I couldn't take off too much time for work. Since then, we've come to Sonoma every year around our anniversary. This year, we had our three-month-old son with us. Even though we've been to Sonoma swver times, this was our first time trying Sunflower Caffe. There's always a line, but this morning, we got up and out by 9 am in order to beat the crowd. Sunflower has cute sunflower decal stickers on the ground with QR codes for the menu. There is a dine in and to go line; we decided to dine in. We had no idea that there was a garden, so we were pleasantly surprised. The host chose an excellent table to accommodate us and our large stroller. The garden is so serene as just beautiful. The ambiance was great! I ordered the grilled cheese sandwich and added potatoes. My husband got the eggs Benedict. The food came out in under 12 minutes, and it was delicious! My grilled cheese was great; the only drawback was that the bread was a bit TOO crispy, but the cheese made up for it. The potatoes were excellent! Get the side of potatoes. Oh! Visited this cozy cafe on our way out of town. The seating area was beautiful, and the service was fast. Everything was prepared so well and was full of flavor. Was especially a huge fan of the potatoes. The only con I had was with the wellness shot. I thought it would have been something made in-house, so I was disappointed that I didn't look into it further. We stopped by today and were planning to dine in. We asked in the front desk how long does it take to wait for dining in and the guy told us it might take 20-30 mins. He is not sure. He looks at our kids and told us. If kids are hungry and you don't want to wait, you can order Togo and eat in the park. It will be faster than waiting here. We took his suggestion because he looks nice, kids are hungry and we don't know exactly how long does it take. While waiting for the Togo order, I brought my son to the restroom. I saw there are open seats on the hallway ( not a good spots but we are ok with it). I asked a waiter are those seats taken? The waiter asked me to talk to the front desk manager. I asked the front desk manager who is the same guy who suggested us to order the Togo order. He told us that he didn't realize that we are ok with hallway seats. He thought we prefer to sit outdoors ( outdoors seats are wayyyyy better). I told him that we are ok with hallway seats since kids are hungry. He asked us to take the tables and he will tell waiters to send our orders to the table so that we can dine in here. We sat down, I started to feed our 1 year old son. Another manager stopped by and asked us to leave right away. We told him that we asked and had been told it is ok to switch to dine in. However, I can't find that front desk manager in the meanwhile and this general manager insisted on asking us to leave right away. We stopped eating and packed our food back into the bags...... one of the waiters said..... I am sorry but he is the top level manager. Whatever he said is the policy. Cute cafe in downtown Sonoma. Came on Labor Day weekend with two friends. There was a bit wait but the line moved quickly. We were seated in the beautiful garden/courtyard with all the lush plants. I loved the ambiance and the sunflower theme. We had a late lunch reservation at another restaurant afterwards so we decided to just eat something light here. The three of us shared an order of avocado toast and a banh mi. I also tried their matcha latte which turned out to be quite good. The avocado toast was very fresh and tasty and the banh mi was full of flavors and absolutely delish! I didn't expect that at all from a traditional American eatery since I frequent the best banh mi joint in little Saigon in SF. My friends enjoyed the cafe as much as I did. One of them loved this place so much that she even picked up a mug as a souvenir. Now I know where to get a quick snack or a drink in a chic low key environment in Sonoma. This place is absolutely adorable! My husband and I visited for my birthday brunch before we headed back home and decided to check it out. Of course there was a long line since it was a weekend but it moved pretty quickly. The process was super smooth since you just pay the cashier and order once you get to the front of the line. After visiting several restaurants in the area with disappointing portion sizes, Sunflower Caffe came through as a fantastic brunch option serving food with hungry folks in mind. Upon arrival, you get in the queue to place your order. They are a "community oriented" restaurant, so they do not accept tips. Once you place your order, they take you to their expansive back patio for seating. The vibes are good, and there are plenty of plants to make the space feel lush and welcoming. Plenty of staff at all times, and service is super fast! Despite being in a large group of 8, we all received our food within 10-15 minutes of being seated. I highly recommend the sausage and egg biscuit - I was worried it wouldn't be filling, but it got the job done AND tasted delicious.
