This place is located at the SW corner of Guadalupe and McClintock, along Guadalupe, North of where the Trader Joe's is located. The hours on the iPhone maps are incorrect, I posted a photo with the correct hours (see photo). My daughter just got a 2008 RAV4. One of the keys unlocked the doors but didn't start the car. They were able to rekey the car and reprogram it. We also got an extra key to unlock the door. So now we have 2 completely functional keys and 2 keys that unlock the doors. That cost about $75. I got scammed. I called because my dog destroyed my key/fob. When I called I was quoted $130 for each replacement. I said i wanted two made. When he came out he only had 1 key. No big deal. But then he charged me $255 for 1. I told him I was quoted $130 and he said they tell you that on the phone but when they get out and see what they have to do the charge is more. I was having a difficult time finding a brick-and-mortar locksmith in the Chandler/south Tempe area and came across Sundial, which was conveniently located at McClintock and Guadalupe. First, the storefront is spacious, attractive, and welcoming. I have never been in a locksmith before where the office is actually attractive, which is not a necessity but very nice. All of the locksmiths I met were incredibly friendly and helpful. I worked mainly with Josh, and he was exceptionally personable and fun to chat with. His work was precise, and he obviously knows what he is doing. I also overheard him being amazingly helpful and patient with a customer calling in with a car key issue. On December 3rd, I was asked to watch my neighbors dog as they had to leave town quickly for a death. When I went to speak to the owner, I inadvertently left my key for the house on their table. I called Sundial on the advice of a friend. Their response time was great, and the young technician was very respectful and nice. He tried the front door but told me that because it was a "smart" key, if he opened the door then all the locks would have to be re-keyed. We went around the back of the house and found a bathroom door that he was easily able to open the handle of. The problem was that it had an upper swing bar lock. He assured me that his dremel could cut through it, so he started to cut through it. The problem was that the dremel was not charged, so every few minutes he would have to stop and plug it in to my neighbor's outside outlet to charge as we sat and waited. This whole process took almost 2 hours. I was cold from being outside and in pain from sitting with my new knee from 2 weeks ago. I finally called my neighbor who brought over bolt cutters and promptly cut the swing bar, and the door was opened! For this "service" I was charged over $300, and I still had to buy a new swing bar latch from Ace Hardware and install it. After this fiasco, I wrote a letter to the owner explaining the situation and asking for a refund as the technician should have had a fully charged dremel, or been able to call someone else to come who did have one, so this job could have taken 20 minutes. I never heard anything back from anyone, so now I am posting my review. I gave them a chance to make good on this, especially given the circumstances. It's great if your technician shows up right away, but what's the point when the job takes over 2 hours! Regardless of the great reviews, I will never use them again and will tell everyone I know not to use them. read more
