Service is awful, the man working when I came in was so rude and unapproachable. I was actually hesitant to ask any questions or add anything to my order. I won't be returning simply bc of that. It's one thing to have slow service, etc. but to be just be straight up mean to customers is absurd. I ordered ahead online and arrived about 20 minutes after placing my order.. only to wait another 20+ minutes once I got there to get my food. 40+ minutes for a sandwich is ridiculous... and i wasn't blown away by any means. This was the best (though not the cheapest) sandwich shop we could find reasonably close to capitol hill (15 minute walk). It features unique sub-style sandwiches from different nationalities and all feature whole meats rather than the common cold cuts you find at other sandwich shops. While you can order in person, most people order from the QR code. We tried the Buenos Aires, Memphis, Lima, and Havana, and all were excellent. We were hard pressed to choose a favorite. Service was just okay as they prefer online orders. The tables have an odd finish on them that make them feel a little sticky even if they are clean. All sandwiches are $15+, but you get what you pay for. read more

Found this location serendipitously while walking to the post office. Been to the Mount Vernon/Shaw location and the Food truck before but way back in the before times. Was very happy there is one so close to my job now. I tried the SEOUL and added a fried egg (as suggested in a review of the other location), it was SO good. I order the sandwich called Paris! btw all sandwiches are named after places like Paris and my co-worker had Lima take a look at the menu, if you are a bread lover this is the sandwich place for you. If you are not into bread:( and why not!! who doesn't enjoy the smell of warm fresh-baked bread! however, if you have some dietary restrictions or watch your weight better than me they have salads matter of fact next time I think I will try one and ask them to send me a piece of bread to go with it. I like kimchi but not in my potato salad not saying that it had kimchi in it but the smell reminded me of kimchi, it was just not my cup of tea but the place still gets 5 stars, I just wanted to try something completely new. Each sandwich we ordered from here (Kingston, Lima, Athens, Memphis) was excellent! I was particularly pleasantly surprised at how juicy the chicken was in the Lima. After hearing about this restaurant for years, we decided to try it last week. I should have turned back when we had to walk over dead mice in the alley to get to the front door. We both ordered the LIMA 15 sandwiches and took them to the Lincoln Memorial for lunch in the park. These are large sandwiches, so we ate half and packed the other half to take home. The taste was okay. Within 30 minutes, we were racing to find restrooms and remained sick for 2 days. $15 each for a severe laxative is not worth it to me. Unfortunately, I am unable to recommend this restaurant for those not seeking a similar experience. read more

We are so happy we stumbled upon SUNdeVICH!! We are from PA and we're only in town for the weekend and we are at this location on Saturday and the other location on Sunday because we loved it so much. The Athens sandwich is amazing.
