Such a cool casual vibe in this place! Nice outside patio with trees and a couple of booths inside and table. Amazing amount of choices on the menu. Totally vegan. Friendly server. I've been for dinner and for lunch. Small parking lot in front. I will return to SunCafe!

Ambiance: it's a cozy vegan and vegetarian restaurant located near freeway, small private lot although there's bunch of street parking spots nearby, spacious dining inside and outdoor patio Service: friendly but so slow and forgetful, had to remind them a couple of times for things they missed, and by the end the entire table was never served ice water. It wasn't too busy at that time, and they just seem understaffed and disorganized. Food & Drink: numerous items for breakfast and brunch, vegan and vegetarian options available PERFECTO PESTO PIZZA - ** walnut pesto, cremini mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, kalamata olives, cashew cheese, garlic pecan cheese, the pizza tasted so dry and old, order suggested by the server, not a very good does The Vegetarian Breakfast Sandwich - *** sourdough bread, eggs, American cheese, tomato, avocado and mayonnaise, average taste Onion Rings - **** crispy and tasty, recommend House Drip Coffee - ** light taste Price: small to moderate portions, and overpriced for its quality, expect $30+ per person

(11/11) SunCafe Organic is truly next-level. I've tried their lasagna, pasta, pizza, burritos, and mac -- and every single dish has been outstanding. The flavors are rich, comforting, and unforgettable. This is the kind of food I find myself craving monthly, maybe even daily. They hit all the marks: quality ingredients, fair price for what you get, warm service, and a great location. If I had to pick something to eat every day for the rest of my life, SunCafe would definitely be on the shortlist. I'm not vegan but still one of the best meals I've had ! Great ambience too small parking lot though

Everything we have had at SunCafe has been soooooo flavorful! From nachos, to smoothies, to benny- all have been excellent. The service can be a bit hit or miss, sometimes it's a bit slow when it's not even busy. And both times we have dined here, they play explicit hip/hop or rap, which is not the most chill to dine to, especially during brunch. My biggest regret about SunCafe, though, is that they started to serve fish and dairy. I understand this may open them up to more business? But for those of us that love a non-contaminated kitchen, the business decision to add animal products to the menu (and therefore in the kitchen) is a bummer.

The coffee date shake that I had was really amazing!! They have fun outdoorsy seating either lots of shade for hot summers. Although the food wasn't that flavourful, it was a really well prepared. We had to leave early to get to an appointment so they even accommodated in changing our order to take out! Would definitely have to try dining to see the real taste of the dishes next time!

VEGAN !!!!!! As usual, I forgot to take a picture before I started eating. As you can see, I was greedy. None of this kind of food is near me so I always get Extra to bring home.

Do yourself a favor a try the tempeh Reuben - it is not only beautifully presented it is absolutely delicious. I came with 2 friends but it would also be a great place for a romantic date. So many interesting options to choose from it was hard to pick just one!

SunCafe is one of those wonderful restaurants that are hard to forget and easy to return to for several reasons. First of all, it features a cozy at-home feeling (this was probably once a house) both indoors and outdoors. I love sitting outside and enjoying some fresh air with a little sunshine--as long as it's not too hot. At night, they light up the patio with some pretty cute lights and a fire pit, which gives it some extra charming vibes! Second, they have an extensive menu, so there's plenty of options to pick and choose. This restaurant is mainly vegan and organic (which I LOVE!), but I recently noticed they created a vegetarian menu and just read a recent review stating they are also serving fish now. I know this can be very disappointing for vegans because it may seem like a purpose shift; and although I am vegetarian, I feel you because it was such an unexpected change, and the thought of cross-contamination is concerning--especially with fish. I am not sure why they decided to make this change because I've tried vegan sea food from many places and it's always been a hit. Now back to the point of why it's worthwhile: Third, food is amazing! Although kind of pricey, they do serve adequate portions, and organic restaurants are not too common, which is why we pay extra for it when we can. My favorite dishes are the Vegan breakfast burrito, Belgian waffle, Jackfruit and Mushroom tacos, Lasaña, and I recently tried their Portobello sandwich, which was delicious! I also love their fresh juices. However, their iced matcha was not my favorite; I only ordered it twice but both times I had it, it lacked in flavor because it either needed more matcha or less milk and ice. Everything else has always been fantastic. Lastly, everyone who works here is always so sweet and welcoming. Service is usually fast when I go in the morning-afternoon. However, I did dine-in once at night and it was slow, but pleasant nonetheless. Whether you are a vegan or not, SunCafe definitely offers plenty of healthy and tasty food options, plus a cozy vibe that's definitely worth experiencing.

Great Place for outdoor dining! Dog friendly too! Lovely peaceful outdoor patio where you can really relax and enjoy your meal with your furry friends! The menu is wonderful with vegan and vegetarian brunch options. I ordered my favorite entree (enough food to split half for lunch half for dinner, who wants to cook on a Saturday) "Mushroom Bordeliase" delicious as always! My friend ordered the more traditional "Sun Breakfast Plate with the French Toast and Bacon" he is picky and gave everything rave reviews! The staff as always is charming and accommodating and even the pups behaved! Definitely a favorite spot anytime you want a delicious meal!

Fun decor and great patio for dining when it isn't raining! We stopped for brunch Sunday. Last time I was here I had the savory breakfast burrito which I enjoyed. This time I went for the French Toast with berries, bananas, and walnuts. It was great! Big portion I couldn't finish. My latte was hot and flavorful. My son and his husband had a breakfast plate with tons of modifications and the server just smiled and said , "No problem". She was attentive and helpful. We'll be back!

Sunday brunch at SunCafe was fantastic! We had the breakfast panini, breakfast English muffin sandwich, Mac and cheese and a cupcake. The breakfast sandwiches were delicious, we ate every bite. I would recommend to anyone - vegan or not. The mac and cheese was delicious - we were sad we ordered a small and not a large. I'd pass on the cupcake. It's not really a cupcake. It's a dense thick dry bread with a sweet frosting. Not good at all. The patio is great and has quite a bit of seating. Service was great. I'll be back for sure and definitely recommend!

Avocado Toast

It's overpriced as heck. The place is super cute though. The staff is nice but they will forget about you repeatedly. If you say "yeah I need another five minutes to look at the menu" they will give you 30. I paid 18 dollars for avocado toast. Now that's on me. That said, it was decent. I wish you got a little more. I wish the bread was a little thicker. I think you can get a way better avocado toast for a better price at black heart coffee. Speaking of coffee, the coffee here is pretty mid. Probably use the same cheap syrups they use everywhere. That's fine though this is a restaurant and not a coffee shop. I would never choose to go here but I don't mind when I end up here. I should try more things on the menu as I don't feel qualified to give an opinion but for now I'll give it four stars. :) if you have a restrictive diet, this is the place for you!

Great place for brunch! Lots of savory and sweet options for everyone and we enjoyed what we ordered. I loved the chicken and waffles and my mom enjoyed her skillet. The ambiance was cute with lots of indoor and outdoor options. We sat in a small private room that looked out into the patio. Service was okay- they didn't have enough water glasses for our table which wasn't ideal and it took a while for us to pay our bill. They were super busy and I would definitely come back and try Sun Cafe again to see if service is better.

I am looking for a vegetarian friendly restaurant to host a weeknight (Tuesday evening) book club meeting. Is this place a good choice for that?

They have vegan and vegetarian options on the menu but they are no longer a vegan restaurant, just to clarify.

Is the food alkaline?

They have food choices that are alkaline but they also have non-alkaline food. Vegan restaurants don't serve meat , dairy, and eggs which are non-alkaline but most do serve starches, grains, and sugars which are also non-alkaline. Most nuts are also… Read more

Can people with nut allergies eat here?

Absolutely. Just look at the menu and customize if you need to.

Are there still any cooking classes available on weekends?

No, it is under new ownership. I don't believe they are vegan.

What are the gluten free items made of, for example in the gf pizza crust? I can eat neither corn nor wheat. Not a severe allergy (cross contamination is not an issue), but a bad GI intolerance.

Most of our GF bread products are rice based: pizza crust, ciabata, brioche

Hey SunCafe, has your mask policy changed? Are your cooks/staff wearing masks and are you still on the honor system?

Staff is definite still wearing a mask/ face shields and everything is being sanitized for your safety. :)

Reservations available? Not on open table.

Is this restaurant soy-free also?

I would think it depends on the specific dish - for example anything labeled tempeh or tofu is obvi soy derived. I am curious now about the "cheese". ! I will be there next week and will ask about Soy for cheese recipes, Pet Friendly status, and… Read more

It is non-dairy.

From what I saw, yes!

Is the brunch menu always available or just on sundays?

Only during the weekend. Saturday and Sunday. I think until 4pm. Very delicious food.

Those nachos can't possibly be vegan? And if it was? It couldn't possibly taste good? Could it?

Yes everything there is vegan and it's taste amazing. I would say that it's bette then normal cheeses and it has more flavor. The cheese is made of cashews. It's always a great item to have when you are there. Also you must have their shakes. It's a… Read more

Everything tastes incredible and I feel that even non vegetarians can enjoy their food. The Bo luc lac was superb, the sauce was sooo delicious. Honestly if I can take a jar of that sauce they used to make the shaken beef, I'd pour it over everything lol. They used a ton of watercress though and I'm not the biggest fan of watercress. I understand it's a salad but damn the ratio of watercress to "beef" is insane. The salt and pepper shrimp was also good and the sauce that paired with it had a spicy kick! Many dishes I've tried I would get again. The dining area is cozy with plenty of booth and table seating. The staff and service are always friendly and attentive. If you're adventurous with food or you are vegetarian/vegan, there are plenty of choices depending on what you're craving. From soups to rice dishes, vegan and raw entrées you won't find anywhere else. Most of the "meat" textures are pleasant and close to the real thing. A few of my current favorites: * Chicken Lemongrass has been my go-to and one of the cooked dishes I'll recommend for anyone who still eats meat. Comes with salad and black rice. * Wonton Soup has a clean, yet flavorful mushroom broth without being heavy. The wonton is tender with soy protein and mushrooms inside. * Humanese (Living Soup) is creamy and smooth with a pleasant flavor. * Yellow Noodles were a delicious bowl of light yet savory mushroom broth, fresh ingredients, a mix of vegan proteins, and thin noodles. * BBQ "Pork" Roll is a light starter with a tasty peanut sauce. * Salt & Peppered "Shrimp" - I enjoyed this, and the texture is close to an actual shrimp * The Paella is a pleasant and tasty surprise, with big slices of avocado and a blend of fresh, clean ingredients. * Bun No.35 is a refreshing, hearty dish that fills you up without feeling heavy. Pour the vegan fish sauce over the ingredients and mix well! * Curried Rice has a cool presentation, and the live food and fresh ingredients are delicious and filling. A few of my friends also enjoyed this dish. * Green Papaya Salad is a nice shareable classic dish with fresh ingredients, and the spice level is mild to medium. Elixirs, juices, teas, and smoothies can satisfy your taste buds and your body. Vegan desserts are also worth a try. Recently, they added vegan cakes! I'm looking forward to returning and trying more dishes!

There is a combo order of both, but it includes the American marinated crab and an extra small live uni. With their recommendation, we opted for the Korean marinated crab and small uni to share with 2 adults and one kid. When the food came out, they gave us another live uni on the house and I was so happy because I didn't want to share mine! The food was so homey and delicious. The seafood pajeon was so loaded with all the seafood bits and the soy bean soup was the perfect palette cleanser. Service was great and they were so helpful to answer any questions we had. The marinated crab was very delicious, and spicy crab was even better, but the marinated crab is definitely higher quality, so if you want to get the best of both worlds order both or get the combo. When we finished ordering, appetizers came immediately and basically covered the whole table, and as a Korean restaurant with such warm hospitality I assume you can get more side dishes if you want, but we didn't want to waste any food. All dishes tasted great. The uni wasn't very surprising but it's still good, so if you are doing à la carte you can skip it. All in all a 5+ for the restaurant, also the restroom seems pretty clean so it's another plus for this smallish restaurant.
