We very happily recommend Sunbusters! We wanted a patio cover installed in our yard over concrete/flagstone. The sales process was easy and straightforward. Jason was never pushy and didn't try to upsell us stuff we didn't need. He helped us pick colors that complimented the yard. The price was very fair - in fact, it was below what we thought it was going to be. Best of all, the construction was fast and very efficient! The team here was great, and worked very well. It was probably a simple, straightforward job for them, but they made us feel like this project mattered. All in all, this was a tremendous experience of what a nice, professional company can do. Thanks, Guys! read more

I can't emphasize too strongly how pleased I am with the work Sunbusters did for me in building my custom arbor/patio cover. The end result was even better than my expectations! It's refreshing to deal with a contractor who listens to you and will build to your exact specifications. Alan Lee, the owner of SUNBUSTERS, is very professional. He was on time with all appointments I made with him - from the estimate, the tear-out and disposal of my existing structure and the custom design and build I wanted for my new arbor. If you want it done right, bring in the Pro's. Alan and SUNBUSTERS certainly do fall into this category! AND, THE PRICE WAS RIGHT!!! Mike G. San Jose, CA read more

Sunbusters put in our new arbor 16' X 20' for backyard patio and it is awesome with lights and ceiling fan! All the personnel we came in contact with were very courteous and customer friendly. The arbor was completed including core drilling for columns and it came out exactly as promised by Tony and Alan the owner! They were very attentive to details and the workmanship was excellent! We were very pleased with the outcome and would recommend this company for consideration as your patio cover provider! read more

Really happy with the quality and efficiency in the work they have shown. Tiffany was great who designed our covered patio the way we needed. She also had really good suggestions based on our use and improve the esthetics of the whole project. The whole team is really pleasant to work with. Job well done!! Will hire them without a jiffy next time!! Thanks SunBusters Team!! read more

Can't say enough about Sunbusters and their entire staff. It was a good feeling to support a local business and they delivered. Tiffany did a great job coming out and assessing what we needed. Than the crew worked through some rain, were very efficient and accommodating throughout the construction. As always there are some issues that come up and the owner Alan made them all work. We added a patio cover and a pavilion over our outdoor kitchen and we couldn't be happier with the end result. Looking forward to the summer. Thanks! read more

This was an amazing experience for us. A family run business that far surpassed my expectations. Yes it took a little while for them to come out but it was worth the wait. They had so many creative ideas that helped deal with the difficult architecture of our yard. Jason spent considerable time out measuring and laying it out for me because I could not get a visual from just a description. They gave us a start date and I asked for an early install in order to have the cover up before our son's first birthday party, and they got it done!!! It was amazing and the crew was polite and cleaned up so well after themselves. The fastest install ever! Our patio cover looks great and the permit process with the city was handled entirely by sunbusters. Also the cover was much more affordable than we expected. We were shocked at just how affordable. You should call this business if you are considering a patio cover. Our neighbors are jealous!! Thank you so much guys! read more

I recently needed a patio cover for my backyard deck. So I contacted sunbusters. I had the pleasure in dealing with Sam who by the way was very nice and sweet. she explained everything very throughly through my experience and made sure to schedule everything around my needs. After sunbusters came over Saturday morning and by Sunday after noon they had conpleted the job. Very quick and efficient. This staff did an outstanding job I couldn't have been any happier with the work and level of attention for detail. I would highly recommend sunbusters to my friends and family. As my parents have already scheduled for them to come out next week! 5 stars read more

Last summer we were in the market for a pergola in our new backyard. After owning a wood pergola at our old house, I knew we did not want the maintenance of that again. I asked some friends who they used, because their pergola were beautiful, and that's how we heard of sunbusters. We went with brown lattice and are very happy with the finished product. Our yard is huge so we're actually having a solid structure added next to the house. This time we got another bid, they were basically the same price for what we wanted. We decided to stick with sunbusters because of the great customer service and how satisfied our friends are with their projects. read more

I recently had a patio cover installed by Sunbusters. The staff were all courteous from the person who came out do the estimate (Tiffanny) to the installers and the back office person (Sam). I am glad we chose them. I could not be happier. They gave us a schedule and delivered as promised. I am very happy with my new patio cover. read more

These people are awesome!! Did everything we discussed and got it done cleanly and on time

Wow - Awesome job on my patio cover. They submitted all the paperwork to my HOA (which we all know can be frustrating) and kept on the ball with them and myself on my project. From the Salesperson, to the pre-site and office staff, my installation went smoothly and follow up on my questions were all handled with ease. AND the fall/winter special saved me some moola to boot. Highly recommend Sunbusters. read more

I want to say that this company and all their employees from the office staff, field staff and Alan this company are A # 1 with me. They worked with me ever step of the way. Kariem was VERY responsive when I had questions or concerns. I want to thank all involved with my project from Kariem, Jesse, Alan, Sam and all others who were apart of this project. The cover is what I wanted and will enjoy the hot days on my new patio. Thank you and you will definitely get my recommendation. read more

TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE. When I first called, they said they couldn't come for 2 weeks. We were totally fine with that. I'm sure they're very busy. When it came time for the appointment, we got a call saying they were having car trouble, and asked if they could come today. Again, totally fine with that, things happen. This morning he called again after the time he was supposed to be here, again using the car trouble excuse. He asked if he could come later today, I cancelled my plans and said "sure". Again, at the time he was supposed to be here, he calls to say he doesn't feel good now and asked when he can come again. I said, "don't worry about it". He says, "ok". It's obvious they don't need or want my business. We were prepared to spend ALOT of money on a nice patio cover. I guess we'll have to go with someone else. It's frustrating because we picked one out just from the pictures on their website. I would never recommend this company. read more

I would not refer ANYONE to these people. When Alan first came to my house to give me an estimate I was very pleased with him and his product. Then when I called a while later to tell them I wanted to go ahead with the project Nicole was supposed to come to my house to pick up a deposit and have me sign a contract. Well she never showed up and somebody else called me to reschedule and Nichole was supposed to get in touch with me and never did.....I guess they don't need the business. I still have yet to hear from them which is good because I ended up going with Bright Ideas anyways =( read more

SUNBUSTERS did an excellent job installing our patio cover. The process from beginning to end was very professional. Jason patiently answered all of our questions when he came out to give us a quote and left us with what we feel was a very fair price for a great product. SUNBUSTERS was also very accommodating about the installation date. The installers arrived at the time we expected and were highly efficient, while still taking care with our newly landscaped yard. I highly recommend this company if you want a job done right! read more

The work was performed as planned. Until I was told Jason was no longer with the company. All of a sudden no one returned my calls and they didn't finish the job. After a few months, we finished the job ourselves. Months after that, they are demanding that we pay the final bill after admitting they never finished the job. And now they're threatening to put a lien on my house. How can a company demand payment for a job they never completed? I don't know what is going on with their accounting and scheduling, but Jason was the only one that seemed knowledgeable. Everything went downhill after he left. read more

After being disappointed with another alumna wood patio company I contacted Sunbusters. I had a extensive back patio cover done that included a pitched roof, which the other company didn't feel they could adequately do. From first contact with the estimator to the completion of the work they have been extremely professional, had reasonable pricing, and did a superior job. I couldn't be happier with the result! read more

We love our alumiwood patio cover! Sunbusters was easy to work with and their pricing can't be beat! Our patio cover was in sooner than expected and is beautiful! We had one small problem where rain was getting in where it shouldn't but wasn't a leak in the cover itself. Within hours of speaking to Sam, Sunbusters had someone out to fix the issue at no extra charge! Both city inspectors that came out to ok the project told me that they never have to worry when inspecting Sunbusters jobs, they always do it right. One of the inspectors added, "there are companies out there that charge a lot more for the same jobs and there are always problems they have to fix". He said, "Sunbusters makes my job easy". That made me feel great about my choice to go with Sunbusters, as these were city inspectors and had no reason to tell me this. All my patio furniture stays dry and it will be great in the summer to have a nice relaxing, covered area to entertain! We couldn't be happier! read more

Great customer service. I was replacing wood lattice with Alumawood lattice. Since this was a lattice replacement (I reused the existing wood frame), I had a third party do the installation. Sunbusters was customer service was great from inquiry, to quote to order, to delivery. They really excelled when some of the lattice arrived damaged in shipment and the screws were not shipped. I was on a somewhat tight deadline to have the patio finished for my daughters graduation. Sunbusters was on the case right away. The screws were overnighted and no questions were asked about replacing the damaged lattice. Really a pleasure to work with. Note: I actually purchased in April 2013. I regret that it took me this long to post.:-) read more

I was really impressed with this company when I first got a quote and ordered my patio cover with Jason. He answered all of my questions and always got back to me right away. Then they installed the patio cover within the time frame the contract stated, and it is beautiful. But after that things went downhill. I was told on the phone that my patio cover was completed, so I paid my final payment. When I had a contractor come out to look at it, he said the electrical wiring wasn't finished and there was no wood fill in the sides like I had ordered. I contacted Sunbusters to see what had happened. I was told that they would find out and call me back. No one ever called me back. This pattern happened quite a few times. Finally someone from Sunbusters came out to look at it and confirmed that the electrical wiring was not finished. They said they would call me with a time that a crew would come out and assured me it would be done the next week. No one ever called and it was not done that next week. After more phone calls, they finally scheduled a day to come fix the problem. I waited and no one showed up. They called to say they got busy on a job and would be there the next morning. No one showed up the next day either. I called and left a message with the general manager, and he never called me back. Today they said they will come next week, but I don't know if that will actually happen or not based on my prior experiences. Over six weeks after the original installation date I am still waiting for my patio cover to be finished. The electrician who came out to look at the wiring said that some of the wiring will have to show on the outside now since they didn't do the wiring during installation. I paid a lot of money for this patio cover and am not happy about the idea of wires showing when they could have been hidden if it had been done correctly in the first place. I keep asking for a copy or proof of the permit that they obtained and no one responds. On their website they say that they "believe in meeting and exceeding expectations in quality and customer service" and that "we believe in service after the sale". Unfortunately I have not found this to be the case, and I am disappointed to have to say that I wouldn't be able to recommend this company to anyone. read more

Just had my pergola installed by Sunbusters Patio Covers this past weekend and it looks amazing! I am so in love with it! I have been planning and waiting for it to come to life and I have Alan, Tony, Kareem, Jesse, and Jeremy to thank! Not only were they professional and very easy to work with, they were extremely accommodating. I have very special needs and they worked hard to honor my requests so that my pergola is built exactly to my specifications. I really appreciated the fact that they kept in contact with me every part of the process from scheduling the first consult for the bid, to following up with visiting my house to see exactly what they were up against and to understand exactly what my preferences were as well as expectations. They were very realistic with time frames of when the pergola would be installed and kept every appointment they made. Tony was really fun to talk to when he came to give me the bid. He made me even more excited to have my pergola built! Every thing I told him I wanted for the pergola, he would say "Sure!" Tony and Kareem were very helpful when they came to my house for an on-site review. They explained to me exactly how my pergola will be built based on my preferences while abiding by city codes. Kareem worked very closely with me throughout the process. He displayed great attention to detail when ordering the size of my pergola based on my preferences. What is most impressive is that he took the time to research how he can help install curtain rods on the pergola which was an absolute requirement for me to have. He came up with an ingenius idea which Jesse and Jeremy helped carry out. Jesse and Jeremy were the installers for my pergola and they were very respectful and worked hard to get my pergola built in the time they promised. What was icing on the cake was that they offered me the lowest bid compared to a few other companies in the area! I was ecstatic!!! After all the waiting... "The Rising of The Pergola" is truely amazing!!! I love it sooooooo much Sunbusters! You guys are awesome! Attention to all those out there who have been contemplating about getting a pergola for their patio, please please please give Sunbusters in Brentwood, CA a ring! They will NOT disappoint! :-) read more
