I contacted Aron for a quote on replacing my Decks. Aron was prompt with his estimates and up-front on what could and could not be done. The work started as promised and there were no surprises. His crew was professional and the project was delivered as promised. I am thrilled with the results. Our upper deck is almost double in size of what it used to be. The decks are modern, sleek, and inviting. I would recommend Aron to anyone looking at deck work. read more

Aron Ambrus Construction recently replaced our redwood deck with redwood framing and railings, 35 year Trex Select decking and black metal balusters that ended up looking amazing, and we opted to attach a shade sail instead of a pergola like we had previously. The price was on the higher side compared to other estimates we received but Aron convinced us that it was worth the price and we're happy with the outcome. One tip is to get everything in writing in the contract to avoid disagreements about the scope of work later on. Major props to Jorge and his team who were hard workers. Jorge updated us regularly on his team's progress and he was proud of his work. Props to Tibor also who did a meticulous job staining the railings and posts. read more

I recently bought a home with a large, partially fenced yard, and I have no regrets in picking Aron, his foreman Jorge and crew to finish enclosing the yard with a beautiful redwood fence and driveway gate. I was needlessly nervous about dealing with such a large and complicated project, and Aron is extremely professional and a great communicator who promptly dealt with all my worries and concerns throughout the construction. Jorge and his crew are very hard workers, and work was completed within the timeline that was laid out in the very clear and detailed breakdown that included all tasks and costs. The fence and the gate turned out beautiful, and they were such a pleasure to work with! I'd have them back again in a heartbeat for future projects! read more

Aron, Jorge and their entire crew were fantastic to work with. We hired them to rebuild our deck and add a pergola, build a fence and repair our front porch. The end result is beautiful! From my first consultation with Aron, I had a gut feeling they were the right contractors for the job and they didn't disappoint. The whole experience was collaborative and professional, and Aron found cost effective solutions to our project. Plus Aron was responsive to any of my questions and came by frequently to check on the progress. Jorge and his team were punctual, worked incredibly hard and finished nearly a week early. They really take pride in their work and I felt like they were just as invested in the projects as us. The overall cost of the project was the most expensive quote we got, but the pricing was transparent and Aron never tried to upsell us. Their high quality work, collaborative approach and responsiveness made it worth every penny. We highly recommend Aron Ambrus Construction! read more

Aron's team provided a beautiful quality deck for the best price of anyone that we considered. We love the finished product and are very glad we used them. During the project, the team was ppretty loud and messy, but we enjoyed their laughter and were tolerant of the mess that was eventually cleaned up. They were all super nice and they worked through rain and wind to finish in a timely manner. Aron was easy to communicate with although his foreman did almost all of the team supervision. read more

I had a great experience with Aron and his team. He responded quickly to my quote request and was out to look at the project and give an estimate within a couple days. Within a week he called and said that they could squeeze my small project in immediately and I took him up on the offer. The work was all completed in a day, it was done well and the price was fair. No complaints! I'll definitely be calling Aron again in the future for the inevitable next project. read more

Working with Aron and his crew was a pleasure from start to finish. I needed to replace my front porch and the stairs leading up to it. Aron responded quickly to my initial request and gave me a fair and detailed quote. The work was begun and completed on schedule. It included demo'ing the existing porch and stairs, rebuilding the foundation of the stairs, and installing new porch flooring, stairs, and a redesigned railing. It all looks great; the workmanship was excellent. Aron's communication throughout was extremely responsive, and he did an excellent job of explaining the process. Highly recommended! read more

Aron completed a decking project for us recently. We replaced a squeaky, ill constructed deck with Timbertech decking. Aron was incredibly thorough in his assessment of our deck and what needed to be done to make us happy with the project. He had ideas to save supplies and make our deck look better than we could have imagined. He is just a very competent deck installer and his crew was very detail oriented. We added lights to our stairs and Aron even replaced the remote we lost, well after the deck had been installed. A knowledge guy with a great personality! read more

We had an amazingly positive experience with Aaron and the crew. From the first meeting, to quote, to start and end, Aaron was always communicative, beat his deadlines, and was always there for us. The crew was lead by Jorge, he was professional and let us knew daily what was going on and checking in whether we were happy with the progress. Our deck was unique. We really wanted to use Thermory decking because it was real wood, has the hardness of IPE, but is renewable. This was Aaron's first deck with Thermory but he was up to the task! I know typical homeowner desires. The deck was pretty hard to install since it needed to go from our house to our pool deck so it had to be installed inside of "4 walls" ie. for those who appreciate the problem it needed to fit a very fixed area and level to the deck (no lip please) and the entry to the home. Honesty we could not be happier. Choose Aaron you will not be disappointed. read more

He was a bully and tried to overcharge me for add-ons to the project . I explained initially that I would not add additional work but would consider changing my mind later. It was decided to proceed to add-on to my project. A change order was requested and he replied it was not needed and that we will settle at the end of the project. I stated yes, at cost and hours. He agreed. He was emailed restating the contract signed clearly stating any additional work would be billed by cost of materials plus $188 hourly for labor. The invoice sent was his regular contract price and much higher than the quoted rate. At this point I requested an itemized invoice with receipts and noted that I tracked hours spent on the extra work. He waited a week to reply then called me with a threat to take me to court! I reminded him his contract stated hours and actual costs. He complained he couldn't make any profit from that and he had the best prices around. A number of receipts for materials were sent to me but included wood and other parts already paid for and hours way over what was actually spent completing the work. I emailed my summary of parts and hours for the work. He finally agreed to accept the terms of the contract . His contractors did do a good job on my retaining wall. It was unfortunate that in his quest for profit, he lost a good customer. read more

Aron and his capable crew built two retaining walls and did some driveway repair for us this past summer. One of the retaining walls was a difficult installation of designer-concrete wall blocks along a driveway -- difficult because of the steep slope and length of the driveway. The crew knew what they were doing, and they performed their work with a lot of care to make sure they were doing the installation the right way. I know -- I watched them every day. The other wall was a more traditional wooden wall next to our garage, but it also had its challenges because it was built along a very steep hillside requiring a lot of soil removal. They also flattened the ground between the garage and wall and laid down some crushed rock with adhesive material mixed in to create a semi-hard surface that has improved that area 1000%. The driveway repair was needed to fill in some rather large gaps that had formed between concrete pads that had moved over time. The result is a smooth driveway surface that has made departure and arrival much easier not only for us but for delivery vehicles and other visitors. From selection and ordering of materials to final completion, Aron was always there for us. He made us feel like we were his most important customer. Jorge, the foreman of the crew, was also always available with ideas and anything else that we requested. Everyone involved was respectful of our property and people. They did "the little extra things" that makes their work something for the homeowner, as well as for Aron and his crew, to be proud of. read more

I emailed Aron about some fencing we needed redone as well as some gates that needed replaced. I could tell he was quite busy, so there was some back and forth, but he was always very nice and helpful and we got an estimate. His estimate was nicely detailed and he gave us some options. He was then able to work us in between bigger jobs, which was appreciated, showed up on time, did what he said he would do and always asked for feedback when there was decisions to be made. Overall, great experience and would recommend! read more

Aron conducts his business with care and professionalism, with special attention to customer satisfaction. On any given construction project, problems will inevitably arise; the test of a good contractor (and client) is resolving these problems as efficiently and painlessly as possible. First and foremost let me say that Aron and his crew - particularly Jorge are extremely professional, dedicated, and kind hearted people. Jorge would frequently call my wife and I over to see the work done on the deck. I have never seen a contractor so proud of his work. It was truly amazing to see. But getting straight to the point - Communication: 5/5 Aron was always quick to respond in a timely manner. He frequently checked in to make sure everything that was done was up to our standard and expectations. Craftsmanship: 5/5 Aron and his crew paid attention to every detail and did everything by the book. The new deck looks amazing. Reliability: 5/5 Aron and his crew also were extremely reliable - they got to work on time everyday - early - and finished the deck job ahead of schedule. Any corrections that needed to be made were done promptly and to our exact request without issues. Ill post a picture later. My wife and I received estimates from many people but just by meeting and listening to Aron my gut told me he was the right person for the job. We even waited an extra month for him to finish his previous jobs before he started on ours. During that time we were getting our backyard done and had no easy access to our backyard. It required us getting to the backyard with a ladder lol. Thats how dedicated my wife and I were willing to wait for Aron to reconstruct our deck - it was worth the wait. :-) I will definitely recommend him for any deck job as well as my future jobs. Thanks Aron, Jorge & crew! read more

Aron is the owner of the company and his crew did a thorough and wonderful job replacing our side yard fence which had been falling apart over the last couple of years. Aron's bid was not the cheapest. After the frustration accumulated with the other company we initially chose, we came back to Aron simply wanting to work with someone who is more willing to communicate. Aron is very polite and super responsive. He promptly responded to every single text and email I sent to him. He asked his crew to check with me often to make sure the work was done according to the way we desired. He also came to the site frequently to check on the progress. The new fence posts were set on 3 to 4 feet deep of concrete bases. Upon our request, a few posts are extra long so that they can give more support to the vines that had grown really tall. We opted the board-on-board style of the fence with a piano key style of the lattice at the top. They also pre-stained the boards for us before the installation. Most of the screws/nails were put in from the outer side (facing a tall wall from a storage unit) to maintain a cleaner look from the inside. The crew members (Manuel, Oscar, Edwardo) worked very hard everyday. During the entire project, they took great care of protecting and supporting our plants that grow right against the fence, which I really appreciated. The plants remained intact throughout the project. After the fence was finished, they even helped me tie the plants to the new posts. After each day of work, they cleaned up the site very well. The new fence is very sturdy and looks really beautiful. Aron and his crew are just very nice skilled people who do great quality work. I have no hesitation to recommend them to everyone I know. read more

***** Worth EVERY Penny ***** We recently moved into a 1960's home in Concord that came with an old, rotting fence. In fact, shortly after we moved in, part of a shared neighbor fence fell down. We have a large backyard which backs-up to a noisy, major street. The sides of our backyard are shared with three separate neighbors. We were looking for someone who would do quality work, while respecting our neighbors' property. We also wanted a team who would do their best to keep the area safe and contained for our neighbor's small dogs. I had three companies come out and give us estimates. Aron told me upfront his estimate would probably be the most expensive - and it was. However, we chose to work with Aron Ambrus Construction, as he was so responsive, and confidently promised the highest quality. He and his team delivered. Jorge was the foreman on our job. He is an incredibly lovely man. Jorge told me, "I make the best fences." Jorge doesn't lie. He ensured that every post was embedded not the standard 2 ft., per code - but to 3 ft. (which, by the way, I've heard some companies don't even bother to embed the posts to code). The cement at the base of each post was rounded-off, so over time, water will not pool and deteriorate the post. Every portion of the fence was built perfectly level, which, in our yard, involved creating several steps in the fence. Aron and Jorge came up with a plan to attractively raise the height of the fence, despite the existing cinder block posts, located off of the main street. They built a large, easy to open, spring-loaded gate, which opens out, to code, due to the existence of a pool in our backyard. Jorge and the team used screws at the midpoint of each board, so as the fence settles over the years, no gaps will appear. While working on our job, Jorge and the team were respectful of our neighbors' property. They worked mostly on our side, and made sure they left no dirt or debris in the neighbors' yards before closing up the fence(s). In fact, Jorge somehow even managed to speak with every neighbor. He answered questions, and set proper expectations. Aron checked in with me every day, either here at the site in person or by text. He was open to (and thankful for) any feedback. Jorge was also open to feedback, and even asked me several times which option I would prefer on certain aspects of the fence, to ensure we were all on the same page. I am confident our new fence will last for many, many years. The only thing I'm kind of bummed about is I no longer get to see Jorge's smiling face each morning. I highly and confidently recommend Aron Ambrus Construction. You won't be disappointed. You will come away with a solid, beautiful fence. And as a bonus, you'll work with people with incredible attention to detail - who are respectful, honest, and friendly. P.S. Several people contacted me through our neighborhood Facebook group to compliment me on our fence, and asked who built it. So, even people in our neighborhood took notice. read more

Aron's crew removed an existing two level deck and built a new two level deck on a hillside. We changed portions of the deck from an older cantilever version - to one with footings and posts. Aron's bid was the most detailed and his pricing was similar to other bids. We went with Aron because he seemed more direct and upfront in his communication and he had built a beautiful deck for a neighbor. In the end we got a wonderful looking and super "solid" deck that will last. The footings, beams, etc... seemed "overbuilt" and I have no doubt that this deck is structurally sound. Aron's crew had to deal with rain and some bad weather, which caused delays and some issues - but Aron kept us informed. There were a few minor mistakes - mostly regarding some stucco "dripping" and cosmetic details. But these were corrected in the end and I was very pleased with the final results. Like many construction sites, it did get a bit messy at times, and workers put supplies and walked through my neighbors property. Fortunately, my neighbors were understanding. I would use Aron again and highly recommend him - as he is fair, reliable, and builds a quality product. I trusted Aron and his main foreman Jorge. At times the details weren't exactly clear to me, but Aron and Jorge answered my questions - and in the end - we got a great deck. Aron is not the "bargain - cut corners" option. If you want a solid product at a fair price and trust him to do a good job, you'll be happy. read more

Aron Ambrus just finished building us a new fence and retaining wall - we could not be happier. We received a number of estimates and through those initial meetings, Aron stood out as the most knowledgable, by far. We had a fairly complex job that required: -stepping -building into a tree -building along an older fence that the neighbor did not want removed -building up directly from a retaining wall The outcome was great. Jorge was the foreman on the job and he is a true master of his craft. He cared deeply about the aesthetic and did a lot of little things that helped with the end result. Not too mention, all of my neighbors loved him. Just a very positive experience all around. High recommend working with Aron Ambrus. read more
