Wow. From the client side, construction often feels like Russian Roulette with a five-chamber revolver - you're probably gonna be OK, but far too often it explodes in your face. Too rarely, the experience transforms into a world-class meal in one of them fancy restaurants with stars that sound like tires. That was our experience with these folks. It's not that they were reasonably priced - they were. It's not that they actually did what they were supposed to do - shockingly in construction it's not a given, but yes, they did. It's not even that though once they pulled out the old stuff, they found layers of pipes and other crap that they needed to figure out and work around and could easily have claimed thousands for in cost overruns...but they didn't. All of these things on their own would have easily made them a five-star operation. But then they went above and beyond. The people working on the new floating deck were all wonderful. The grace they showed repeatedly as they needed to shift plans and figure out a new way to handle things midway were exemplary. The ingenuity in finding creative solutions to allow us to keep our trees or deal with some unexpectedly awkward angles that emerged was practically like having an architect on hand. This was a complex, difficult project in the hills. Roberto, the owner, was always so involved and just...there...when he was needed, plugged in the whole way through, pleasant and easy to work with. It all comes from the top, and his attitude clearly informed the crew. So no Russian Roulette here. We will without question bring them in again if we need another project like this. I already referred them out a couple of times since they completed the work a few weeks ago, and I'm writing this to let you know, too - zero hesitation in recommending them wholeheartedly. Over the last couple of years, I have had a few things around the house go a bit sideways. When looking for a team to come and help fix the troubles, I was connected with Roberto and his team. I can only say that they have been great to work with. Not only was he able to complete the ork, but he took the time to really build trust with me. Roberto first helped out with a window replacement in my ADU. The window had been installed incorrectly by the previous owners, and we were getting water intrusion and some molding. Roberto and team did a great job from sourcing a new window, cleaning up the mold and re-drywalling, to finding the specific siding and paint to match the existing. After that, Roberto helped replace a fence we had that was at the end of its life. While this should have been a simple job, it actually required rebuilding a crumbling retaining wall, and working around established trees without killing them. Over the years I had remodeled each room, one at a time, except the living room and kitchen. Hiring various contractors of varying skill and communication levels. Last summer Roberto did the living room, and I decided to take the plunge at the end of the year to do the kitchen. As anyone who has remodeled a kitchen can attest, this was going to be a big deal. He even noticed a slight gas leak at the earthquake turn off valve nobody else had caught. My fence fell during one the rain storms and RCO was quick to respond and start work the next day after doing an on-site consultation. I wanted to design the pattern at the top 12" of the fence to preserve the view and have a more "arts and crafts" feel and RCO was able to work with me to make that happen. They also came up with a unique solution to deal with an existing tree so that it could be preserved which impressed me. All the posts had concrete footings which was a must for me given that my original fence did not have them. They responded immediately and through a couple messages, they said they would be out that afternoon. No show! No message! No communication whatsoever. I had a humidity problem in one of the rooms of my duplex in Vallejo. Roberto said that the siding needed to be replaced on one wall. He completed the job as agreed, on time, using Hardie Plank as a I requested on 2 walls, installing insulation (which I could not verify), moisture barrier, and sealing the edges of the windows. The finished job looks great (he matched the existing paint pretty closely). I'm not a construction expert, but the work seems to be done correctly. We shall see if them moisture problem is gone when the heavy rains return next year, but for now I'm quite happy with the work and price. Communications & responsiveness were pretty good. read more

We had an old fence that really needed to be replaced. In the last big storm it was REALLY ready to go. I called Roberto and set up a time right away for a quote, and gave a great explanation of what the options are and the cost. He emailed for formal quote that evening and we decided to proceed with the project. They came by in it took a 1.5 days to complete the job. The fence is fantastic and it is very strong. I blew out a guest bathroom GFCI outlet which powered all the electrical outlets in two other bathrooms and in the garage (I was using an old shop vac in the garage which died suddenly and totally burnt out the GFCI outlet on a Sunday of course).
