We couldn't be happier with the outdoor pergola that was installed by this StruXure. From start to finish, they did an outstanding and meticulous job, and every stage of the project was handled on time and with great attention to detail. A special shout-out to Shawn, the manager, who was incredibly responsive and kept me abreast of everything throughout the entire project. His communication and willingness to help really stood out. In fact, Shawn went above and beyond before we even officially started. I had already begun a landscaping project, and the backyard tile was about to be laid when I realized I had not yet hired a company for the pergola. I was in a bit of a crunch, but Shawn was able to come out on short notice and calculate exactly where the pergola posts would be placed. This allowed my landscaping crew to know where not to pour cement and where to leave tiles loose for the post installation. Thanks to his quick response and expertise, the landscaping project was able to move forward without a hitch. When it came time to install the pergola, everything came together perfectly. The workmanship was excellent, the installation was precise, and the finished product looks fantastic. I highly recommend StruXure to anyone considering a pergola. They are professional, reliable, meticulous, and truly care about doing the job right. And having someone like Shawn managing the project makes the entire experience that much better! read more

Our experience working with Shawn was absolutely stellar. We took a long time finalizing the decision to proceed, and he was patient throughout all the windows where we went completely dark. Now I regret not doing this sooner! Shawn was super helpful on working with us to build a design that would scale well with future enhancements we want to do in our backyard. The finished product looks like it was always there and a part of our home. Some key points: 1. The crew was meticulous at maintaining their workspace - every Friday, they hosed down the driveway and made sure there was no debris. I really appreciated that. 2. They are super talented at non-Struxure landscaping 3. Communication throughout the whole process was clear and quick read more

We had an outstanding experience working with StruXure Bay Area, and specifically with Shawn, to transform our outdoor living space. From the very first consultation, Shawn was incredibly knowledgeable and responsive (every time I messaged with a question, he called back right away with answers and options), helping us design the perfect louvred pergola that essentially creates a whole new covered room in our backyard. His recommendations on lighting and fan purchases and placement were spot on, making the space functional and comfortable day or night. Shawn and his team handled all the permitting and communication with the city so we didn't have to. The crew was in and out when they said they would be, working quickly and cleanly with minimal disruption. Shawn is genuinely friendly and professional and he made what could have been a stressful project feel easy and enjoyable, even coordinating with the team completing the rest of our yard project so that the yard would be prepped for the pergola when it was ready for installation. We couldn't be happier with the results--our backyard feels like an extension of our home now. Highly recommend! read more

We're delighted with the pergola that Shawn and the team installed in our backyard. 1. It's super high quality with night lights and adjustable remote-controlled shade for the sun. I can see this lasting for decades and aesthetically it looks beautiful. 2. Shawn was highly responsive and authentic throughout the process. He came personally to measure our dimensions and give recommendations. 3. The installation took a few days and the crew did a great job cleaning up the yard after. It looks spotless. We'll be spending a lot more time in the backyard now that we have such a quality shade. Give Shawn a call you won't regret it. read more

We love our louver pergola that StruXure Bay Area installed for us! Quality is great! Service is great! Most importantly, we get to enjoy our outdoor when it gets hot outside! Our controller light somehow wasn't working from the pergola. We contacted Shawn, his team came out and helped replaced a new one, immediately. Without charging us additional cost. Great customer! We had a great experience with Shawn and his crew. We looked at several companies before selecting Struxure Bay Area. He was super responsive, kept us updated throughout the project and helped us think through the layout that would be work with our atypically shaped deck. read more

We are extremely happy with our entire experience in working with Shawn and his StruXure crew. Shawn is a great communicator, and is very responsive to all questions and requests. The entire process, from obtaining a bid, to selecting the product, to installation and follow-up was very smooth. Often, Shawn contacted me to update me on the process before I had time to think about it. In addition to our happiness with Shawn and his crew, we are extremely pleased with our beautiful new pergola. It has all of the features we were looking for: 1. The ability to open and close when we want extra sunshine or when we want to block the rain 2. An installed ceiling fan 3. Installed electric heaters positioned from the ceiling 4. Hidden electrical wires and drainage 5. Added outlets 6. A beautiful feature to our backyard I would highly recommend a pergola to all of my friends, from StruXure Bay Area. read more

The Struxure Bay Area team installs high-quality smart-louver patio covers that have expanded the livability of my home dramatically. The team is easy to work with, from the first inquiry conversation to more detailed planning and ordering, and then their communication about installation and associated timing is top-notch. Their installation team is professional, clean, and communicative. If you ever need anything they are just a phone call away and they seek their customer's satisfaction. StruXure Bay Area just completed installation of our pergola and it is really great! We worked with Shawn and his crew to figure out our best options, and come up with a plan to cover our backyard patio. The installation was pretty smooth. Shawn was able to answer questions, and check in on the progress as the crew worked. One of the things we appreciated the most was when the crew was done, they were all walking our backyard space looking for every little scrap of trash, aluminum, dropped screws, etc. Also, each day they were onsite they left their work area tidy. Moving all tools and equipment to a couple small areas. This may sound like a little thing, but it's indicative of the care and attention the crew puts into the project. Thank you! read more

This review is long over-due. We had our backyard fully re-modeled last year going into this year. It was a big project and the pergola was the center piece and big focus. The pergola was built on a custom raised concrete area and had a TV wall built inside of it, so communication between struxture and the liaison landscape team was critical to getting this whole thing done. I have to say, Shawn, the struxture team, and liaison team were some of the best I have ever worked with in any of my projects throughout the years. Shawn was on top of every single detail and answered my 1000 daily questions. I basically had him on speed dial for the entire project due to the complexity of it (and my OCD) and he simply handled every single thing and then some. I changed my mind on about 20 different things and he walked me through every step, process, color, configuration, pricing, etc. He would answer or return my calls immediately, emails would be answered asap, he would explain every detail and never upsell me. If this is your first big project, you might not understand how rare this is, especially in the Bay Area. If you know, than you can appreciate doing a big project with someone you can get in contact with at anytime for any reason with no shady salesman tactics. His team came in and did an amazing job. No BS, no messing around, they arrived early and left late. They were quiet, focused, and I can tell have done this a million times. Watching the whole thing go up and the overall process was amazing. The end result speaks for itself. It is the showpiece of our backyard. It is stunning, useful, and one of the best decisions we could make. This past thanksgiving we had everyone over and it was all anybody could talk about. In the summer I used it every single day. I absolutely love everything about it and couldnt recommend struxture and liaison more. read more

I WOULD GIVE STRUXURE 27 STARS IF I COULD IF YOU DON'T LIKE READING LONG REVIEWS, HERE'S THE SHORT VERSION... I cannot even express how happy we are with the pergola Shawn and his awesome crew from StruXure Bay Area built for us. We, essentially, now have an entirely new, swanky, super solid outdoor 10' x 20' entertaining and chill-out space. From the very first meeting - until long after our StruXure was built - Shawn and everyone on the StruXure team were (and continue to be) incredible. Everyone is HONEST, professional, friendly, respectful, thorough, and meticulous. The quality of work and craftsmanship, I believe, could not be matched by another company. We could not have had a better experience. Seriously, DO IT! Hire them. You will NOT be disappointed. *************************** THE LONG VERSION / DETAILS... WHAT TYPE OF STRUXURE DID WE HAVE BUILT? So, we live in a mid century modern Eichler home, which has a pitched roof. I was hellbent on having the exact same pitch (% percentage) for the StruXure. Somehow, despite a myriad of potential issues due to the louvers, motor load, water drainage, etc..., Shawn and the engineering team magically pulled it off. Our StruXure, again, is 10' x 20'. It is powder-coated steel (bronze). We have "smart louvers" which can be operated with a remote, but are also attached to a rain sensor, and will automatically close if it starts to rain. (This is important as we spent a small fortune on outdoor furniture.) We have 9 overhead lights and a ceiling fan (which Shawn was able to get to hang perfectly straight, even though our roof is slanted). And they even installed a courtesy outlet (to plug in phones, electrical cords, etc.) PERMITS We live in Concord and the city requires a permit for nearly everything you do on your property. (Seriously, if I plant a succulent in our yard, I'm worried Concord city folks will throw a pillowcase over my head, shove me into the back of a van, and haul me down to the city office.) They are sticklers. Shawn was willing to call the city while in the planning stage just to verify everything they wanted to do was kosher. StruXure has an architect/engineer who then provided every possible document imaginable to aid in the permit process. Specs, site drawings, architecture drawings, seismic and electrical information ... everything. When it came time for our site inspection(s), we passed with flying colors. WHO WILL WORK ON SITE? Several contractors/vendors I have dealt with (namely, with our pool) had GREAT salespeople to rope us into signing a contract. They then sent out a crew of folks who could haven given two, you know ... poops ... about the quality of work or the state of our property. Some crews I've dealt with are downright rude and condescending (especially if you are a woman). StruXure is different. When it came time to do the actual work, Shawn was often onsite - especially during crucial parts of the build. However, when he wasn't able to be here, I had FULL confidence in Juan, StruXure's foreman - and for that matter, the entire building crew. It is apparent Juan has years upon years of experience. He, like Shawn, is incredibly detail-oriented. There were decisions that Juan and the rest of the crew made that created a bit of extra work for them, but they did it anyway to ensure our StruXure would be solid. They do not take shortcuts. Period. And they were friendly and respectful to boot. No one on the team treated me, at any time, like I was an idiot. (If you're a woman reading this, you understand what I mean.) CARE, WARRANTY & ONGOING SUPPORT After the StruXure was built, we were sent a detailed email with information as to how to properly care for the StruXure, and a link to register our StruXure for its warranty. The warranty covers: Power components = 5 years: Manual system components = 10 years; Support components = 10 years, and the actual outdoor system is warranted for the lifetime of the system against manufacturing defects. Sweet! ******************************* AGAIN, JUST DO IT. If you are going back and forth about whether this investment is worth it or not ... I will tell you, without a doubt, it has been 100% worth it for us. I am confident Shawn and the team at StruXure Bay Area will exceed your expectations - from start to finish. I just wish every other company was this dang fantastic. read more

We just got our Pergola done in our backyard and StruXure really came through. The backyard entertainment space has really come alive. With the electrically activated louvres and the automated side screens, the overall outdoor experience has come through very well. Shawn and his team were extermely professional and great to work with and did an awesome job ! Shawn was engaged right from the beginning -- gathering requirements, suggesting designs, getting city permits (not easy or quick where we live), planning the projects and implementation with his team. I would highly recommend him and his team to anyone wanting to build/install a StruXure pergola. Very high quality product and professional installation. The build takes a little time since its custom, but worth the wait. If you are planning on a pergola - give Shawn a call. you will be happy you did. read more

After much research and deliberation on what sort of pergola I wanted for a side patio, I decided on going with Struxure Bay Area and I am really glad I did. They walked us through all the options and were super helpful in suggesting fixes and solutions for potential issues regarding electrical sources and drainage. Shawn kept in touch with me over the course of the weeks that followed to make sure any questions I had would be answered. I felt fully assured that once we had the measurements, features and colors determined he and his team would make sure that the whole process went smoothly. We recently had our pergola completed in the back yard and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. It took awhile due to Covid-related issues with supply chain and manufacturing but it was worth the wait. Shawn was excellent with his knowledge and communications throughout the process. He never promised anything he couldn't deliver on. His installation crew was amazing too. They showed up when they said they would, worked all day, and even came in the rain! We now spend 2-3 hours a day sitting out and enjoying the back yard. I highly recommend them and looking forward to enjoying it in the future. read more

StruXure Bay Area did a great job installing a two zone pergola with two heaters, overhead lights, fan, and an outdoor BBQ area with concrete countertops. The process does take some time to get through and requires an electrician to assist in the installation, but Marcus and team did a great job integrating all the various aspects. It's also great that they can adjust colors and style to match our craftsman house (white with architectural details vs. modern). We are enjoying our new covered outdoor space immensely! read more

I had a wonderful experience working with StruXure Bay Area on the installation of our pergola. Shawn did a great job of walking us from design all the way through installation. He also provided recommendations on what would work best for our space and even provided color recommendations for the pergola. What I also really enjoyed about this experience was how quickly Shawn got back to us whenever we had questions and it never felt like we were left hanging at any point. We started considering shade covers what seemed like forever ago. Our new home had full afternoon sun and it made the back portion of our yard and back interior side of our home unbearable during hot/sunny days. We needed a permanent shade cover option but I was concerned that it would make the interior of the house dark. I came across a louvered Struxture online and knew it would be the perfect fit. I found Shawn's contact information somewhere and managed to catch him on my first phone call. He thoroughly explained how the cover worked and touched on price. With my very limited knowledge of shade cover pricing, I was surprised what an investment it was. Fast forward 2 years. We continued to live in the house for another hot summer or two and knew we needed to do something. We reached out to Shawn again who came out and walked the area with us for size ideas and brought along color samples. Bonus, just days later we were able to get an in person demonstration at their showroom in Concord which was really convenient since we live in neighboring Clayton. It really helped us envision how the structure looks and feels. We decided we had to have one. Shawn was informational but never pushy, professional and precise. We finally ordered the Struxture and knew that we were months out. We waited but Shawn checked in periodically with updates so we never felt we were left hanging. When we finally received the call it was game time, we were excited. Unfortunately we had procrastinated on our roof work that needed to be done prior to installation so we had to hustle but again, Shawn shuffled things around to work with us and our timeline. When the install finally started, it was seamless. The crew showed up on time for a solid 9 days and never baulked at the audience of toddlers that loved watching them do their thing. We were impressed by the crews effort each evening to keep the area clean and kept. To say we were impressed with Shawn and his team would be an understatement and are equally impressed by the product. We are loving our new shade structure complete with fan and lights and just days in, we are unsure of how we survived the last three years without it. It is undeniably an investment but one that IS so worth it. If you want the best of the best, Shawn, Struxture and his team are it! read more

A terrific experience all around. From the initial discussion of our options and space, the design process, and our construction and punch list resolution, each step was met by a VERY responsive salesperson (Shawn). The only wish the unit could be installed sooner, but that was a Covid related issue and not one I hold StruXure accountable for. I had a number of reservations when I started this process, especially the sticker price, but after two months of using the unit (two zone pergola, with fan and LED lights) , and living more outside in the evening and on weekends, I can say that this is without a doubt the most transformative addition I have made to our house. Thanks again to Shawn and the team for making this so easy. read more
