The technician came out to look at my pool pump while I was away. When done he called to tell me the pump had failed due to water getting inside and damaging the comoments. When I got there I noticed he hadn't even opened the case to look inside. I took the motor to a local shop, Perry's Pool Pump, and they opened it to find NO water damage or evidence of water inside. Why does this matter? Well, based on Sunbright's diagnosis American Home Shield home warranty refused to pay to replace the motor. BUT WAIT...Sunbright had the gall to call me to "offer me a discount" and replace the motor for $826. I got the motor rebuilt for under $200, no water damage found. Makes me wonder if Sunbright gets a kickback from AHS for convenient diagnosis. Shame on you both!!! read more

Normally when I hear "just call the warranty company" I cringe thinking I'm going to get the run around and nothing actually repaired. Thankfully when they showed up I they gave it to me straight and with no extra frills, just a great repair job and experienced knowledge on how I could keep the repair from ever happening again. Usually home warranty companies are a pain the butt and recommend company's that don't do much. SunBright was the opposite. I had the privilege of having Jason help me out today and was the absolute nicest guy ever. My current maintenance guy lied to me and told me I need a new filter but Jason couldn't disagree more. He showed me it was working and said I didn't need a new one. He even walked me through how to use it. SunBright contacted me within minutes and scheduled an appointment for the next day. The pool tech Cody arrived in the timeframe given and introduced himself, he was very personable, polite. I showed him what was going on with the pump and he explained to me what he would be doing to repair. Cody had it repaired in no time, he had everything running to show that everything was repaired and working properly. I was blown away by the service I received. I was referred to Sunbright by warranty company Onegaurd. I put in the complaint with Onegaurd and within 15 mins a representative from Sunbright calls and tell me they will have a technician out in two hours. They were . And within 30 mins. Our pool pump stopped working. SunBright was assigned as our service provider through our home warranty. They called us within hours of submitting the request (which was after normal business hours) and were out the next morning. Their technician handled the situation promptly and called me to let me know what he had done. The motor was overheating and needed replaced. He did so right then and there. Everything was back up and working. He also removed some landscaping we had directly under the motor that was potentially hindering air flow and could cause an issue. Overall the service was efficient and effective and we are thankful to have the pool back to fully operational for a hot weekend! read more

We were working though our home warranty company and Sunbright came out. They tried to show me that there was water damage to our pump but there was nothing there. I had 2 other pool companies come out to look at it and sad there is no way any water damage and they it was regular use that caused the pump to go bad. I have heard from multiple other people that have worked in the pool cleaning business and they said stay far away from sunbright. read more

The technician they sent out to look at our pump was on the job 3 weeks. He did not do a proper diagnosis he simply looked at the pump from a standing position - declared that a plug was missing and that it would not be covered by the warranty company and left. He did not open the pump and look inside - but we did after he left and found the plug inside the pump. I reported this issue to SunBright along with pictures and they did nothing. In fact, they continued to report that the plug was missing and therefore not a covered repair. I also reported the incompetance of the tech and the issue to AHS and they did nothing either. Sunbright and American Home Sheild are business partners and are not ethical. In fact, you can't even file a complaint to AHS because you are funneled to there overseas call center who have no authority to do anything but jack you around. Save yourself a lot of headache, don't use SunBright and don't use American Home Shield. After this very unpleasant experience, I promptly cancelled all coverages I had with AHS. Please note that my husband opened up the pump and replaced the plug. This should have been done by Sunbright who I paid $75 to for coming out - it was this simple to have good customer service and make a lasting customer. It is also just as easy to be idiots and lose a customer forever, and that's exactly what Sunbright and AHS did. read more

first American home warranty sent this company out because the seal in my salt cell failed. Tech came out and told me he was told by his boss to deny the claim. He told me his boss told him to say the unit was overtightened and cracked. There are no cracks and the threads are not damaged at all. furthermore the leak is coming from the center of the salt cell where there are two parts of different plastic joined and the factory seal failed. this company is a joke. Service agent was rude and was there for a home warranty issue... his diagnosis of the problem only took about two minutes and when I told him I really need him to take a closer look at it (I had already gotten a quote from another pool services company on the issue, so I already knew what the problem was ) he refused and told me - He gets paid by the hour in the more houses he hits the more he makes. And then wrote me up a quote that was $250 more than any other quote I'd already gotten. His van smelled like marijuana... This company came out and fixed my pool pump under my home warrantee. When they left my Hayward controller no longer worked. When they came back out they said they couldn't do anything about that it was not covered even thought the person admired it worked before he replaced the electronics. When I called back I got the run around until a male "office manager" spoke to me and told me they didn't cover it or work on it. I stated it worked before so what are my options. My only options are to call another company to fix it and pay them. He was very rude and stayed I am not going to ram on circle with you and and you are rude. I don't do business with this company. Nefarious as they come. Technician Josh was sent to my home to assess the Crack in the lower half of my pool filter. I was out-of-town, so I could not corroborate his indication of the repair. He claimed the filter blew out to "...bad disposable filter medium. This causes excess pressure and cracked the base. This is not normal wear and tear." Good thing for me is my neighbor owns a pool service company. Plus, I know the top dog and a few others at Pentair Inc. Quite simply, technician Josh was not honest, and on his quote to try to get his company to do the repair he indicated I needed a new filter bottom (true), but also he said the inner filter.fins were crushed and it would be $399 just for the replacement of the fins, but also $599 for the bottom of the filter replacement. We'll, good thing I didn't listen to him while I was away. Not only did my neighbor investigate, but I also had a second assessment done by the warranty company. Succinctly, all the fins Josh said were crushed are in fine working order. So, I didn't need to pay $399 for a new set. Second, a new filter bottom on the open market is $485, and that is all that needed to be done. Also, it was confirmed that the filter medium was not the cause, not to mention Josh could never have seen this because all the filter medium, which was a small amount because it was just changed, flowed out of the massive crack where gallons of water shot it out when it burst....duh. Stay away from these guys. They attempted to steal business away from the home warranty company, they are dishonest notnonly on this, but also on trying to get you to buy needless expensive parts.​​. Now, the filter is up and running, doing it's job, without Sunbright's nefarious needlessly costly repairs. read more

I am a "First American Home Warranty " customer and have been for several years. They have sent a few different pool companies to address issues with my system. I have never received such exceptional customer service from one of their vendors! I put a work order in the system which would usually result in a wait for a response and another wait for service. it's a good system over all and a two day turnaround is not uncommon. "SunBright Pool Services" had called, arrived, fixed my problem (Amazing call Cody!!) and left before the home warranty system was able to notify me that they had been selected as the contractor! Last week the top of my pool filter split and began to leak. I have had weekly routine professional pool service for over 10 years, from competitors of SunBright who are not contracted by American Home Shield (AHS). I set up a service appointment with AHS and they dispatched SunBright. The serviceman told me that unless I paid him $175 and allowed him to install a used part, he would file a bad report with AHS and it would not be covered. Feeling somewhat extorted, I told him to leave. Sure enough he claimed that the part failed due to lack of maintenance and my claim was denied. I have already disputed with AHS but I'm not going to let this go with SunBright either. Looking forward to someone making this right, voluntarily. I guess I'll give it a few days and see. read more
