We have been battling black algae for a year now after changing out our waterline tile and having our pool deck renovated. We've spent hundreds & hundreds of dollars on shocking, pouring black algaecide in on a regular basis, purchasing brushes and spending hours scrubbing the pool walls and floor to no avail. We decided late summer '24 to have a professional take over so we had a different company come out and rid us of this horrible algae. Emailed on Tuesday because my pump was not priming enough to make the vaccuum work and of course the pool is starting to cloud. I received an immediate response from Dan that he could be out on Friday. As we're unavailable Friday, I almost didn't respond. Around 9pm Tuesday night I responded asked if there was any way he could come sooner since we couldn't do Friday. Dan immediately said yes and gave us a window of 11 to noon on Wednesday. A window!!! If you've tried to get anything done in Phoenix, never mind a pool, you know this kind of customer doesn't exist anymore! I then received a text just before 11 confirming that Dan would be here right at 11 and he was! A text! On time! Again...doesn't happen in Phoenix! In less than 30 minutes Dan had our pump running again and gave us additional suggestions on things that could improve our pool's performance. Wow! What an incredibly great experience. We had gotten a quote from our regular pool company (not this company) to fix our hot tub and heater and the quote was just outrageous. I went on Yelp and found this company and requested a quote. They came out for a free quote and the amount they quoted was soooo much more affordable. My pool company asked to see the quote because they couldn't believe it was such a good price, but they said they couldn't touch the rate he gave us and we were happy to go with this company for the repairs. I even considered switching to this company for my weekly cleanings, but they are a little more expensive for that since I get a discount with my current company through my home warranty company so we haven't made the switch yet. Dan was great with communication, even responding to my messages in the late evening. He took a very detailed video explaining how to use the hot tub, and videos like this are things I've asked my current pool company and one before for and never received anything. He had trouble sending me the video because it was too long and spent lots of time trying to find a way to get it to me. He always called me ma'am and was very appreciative and professional. He was here for hours getting the job done in 90 degree heat. I can't say enough good things! And that's saying a lot.. before this I had not found a single pool company I was happy with. 1 more time. Seemed good at first. Came out on my schedule and we talked a lot. I even told Dan (the owner) about some of the bad experiences I have had. I actually told him the job was his. He pulled out the skimmer basket, because the last owners had cut a hole in it for the hose to the vacuum. He said It was all wrong and I needed a new one. OK. Fine. He was going to come back. Said I had to drain the pool and the hot tub. At least he agreed that the last owners had made a mess of the hot tub. They put in a salt cell, but connected it with an extension cord to the house! WRONG! Anyway, he couldn't locate my clean out drain. I didn't even know what it was, since this was my first pool here in Phoenix. He was coming back. Dan did come back, and left. He called me and told me he couldn't find the clean out. He said he walked over my front yard for about an hour, and went into the alley behind my home and couldn't find it. I told him that he did neither. I said my video doorbell showed him driving up, but not walking all over my front yard. I told Dan, he also didn't go into the alley, because 1. the gate was locked, and 2. the gate is opposite my bedroom window, so I would have seen him. So in addition to not doing what he was being hired for, he decided to lie to me. Bad mistake. people should realize that many have video doorbells and security cameras these days and you can't just lie about something that will be recorded. He said he still wanted to help me. I told him not a chance, because I could no longer trust him. He also said that I needed to drain the pool and hot tub. The pool had turned green while I was waiting to find a reputable pool company. Later found out, it didn't need to be drained, just shocked. Incredible how many "professional pool cleaners" don't want to do the work, and aren't professional at all. 1 guy actually left a sticky note on my door, saying he worked for many in the area and wanted to do my pool also. Well, this is a weird review. No work was performed, so I'm not out any money and won't give a one star. 2 stars for wasting a lot of my time though. Here's my experience: 1. 4/18 - I replied to a Craigslist ad for these folks, same contact number as listed. Scheduled quote appt for 4/20 for kool deck repairs and etc. 2. 4/20 - Dan showed up on time for the quote. Exhibited great attention to detail. He took my email address and said he'd get the quote sent out within the next day or two. I'm not gonna lie, as long as the estimate wasn't REALLY high, he'd already earned my business. Great first impression. 3. 4/25 - Still hadn't received quote so I left a message at the same number. 4. 4/29 - Still no quote and not even a response to my last message, so I sent them an email requesting the quote again. 5. 5/5 - Still no quote. Actually, not a single response. At this point, I'm actually wondering if they went out of business but alas. On this same day, they create a new Craigslist post for their services using the same number I've been trying to reach for weeks. I decide to try one last time, so I send Dan a final text telling him I'd still love a quote, but after 2 weeks of trying, this would be the last time I asked for it. 6. It's 5/9 and while I STILL haven't seen or heard a peep since April 20, they just posted a new ad on Craigslist yesterday. Again. Just WEIRD. read more

I've got a 40+ year old pool that had the original light that was disconnected many years ago because of water leakage.
